Dr. Dre Lawsuit
Feb 16, 2010 Dr. Dre, Suge Knight
The war has been brewing for 14 years and now, Dr. Dre is finally ready to head out for battle. Sources are saying that the rapper is finally taking on Death Row Records with a lawsuit claiming that he has never seen a penny from his album ‘The Chronic’. He says that the stopped receiving money from the label once he left and that Death Row has been making a fortune by selling digital copies of ‘Chronic’, ‘Chronic Re-Lit’ and his greatest hits album without paying him anything. Now, Dr. Dre wants them to pay up. I find it quite interesting that he decides to sue the label when mogul Suge Knight is no longer on board.

Suge Knight Can’t Be Black Balled
Jun 4, 2009 Music, Record Label, Suge Knight
If Suge Knight wants his record company to be called Blackball Records, he can name it Blackball Records. That’s if someone else doesn’t have the name already. The original owners of Black Ball Records, note the slight difference in spelling, have fired off a cease and desist letter to the music mogul, politely pointing out his copyright infringement. Black Ball claims that Suge has been using the name since 2008 and that both sides have tried to reach a settlement to no avail. Suge’s camp says they filed for copyright in 2006 but dropped it earlier this year. The original Black Ball Records people say they’ve had it since 2002.

Singer Akon’s manager beats Suge Knight
Feb 18, 2009 Akon, Award, Suge Knight

Hip-hop king Suge Knight has suffered bruises and some facial injuries after he was beaten up by the manager of singer Akon. Suge Knight who is the former owner of Death Row Records was attending a party in Scottsdale, Arizona which was held at the W Hotel where celebrations were on as part of the NBA All-Star weekend.
The incident took place in the VIP lounge area where two groups got involved in a bare hands fight and that resulted in Knight being knocked in the head twice. And ultimately the police when it reached the venue at 3.30 AM they had to use Taser guns to break the two groups.
There are reports that Akon was not a part of the huge tussle and had left well before the fight began. Soooo the fearsome Suge Knight’s actually just a law-abiding, pug and not a brutal hoodlum who deserved to be pummeled senselessly.
I really enjoy these rap singers and the others getting into a brawl cos whenever there is something similar to this then the TV ratings for wrestling fight really plummet because such fight are even better – the real street fight kind of thing.
