Shaggy’s new song
Jan 27, 2010 Reggae
And speaking of singing for charity, it seems that Simon Cowell is not going to be the only one putting bonus tracks out there to raise money for charity. Reggae singer Shaggy has gathered up a select Caribbean crew in order to record a new track called “Rise Again” in order to gather up money for Haiti… and maybe a little extra on the side, as well. Shaggy is the author of the song, at least he can be given credit for that as others just chose to do covers or remakes of old songs. Not very charitable work, though. Maybe Shaggy will even fly over to Haiti and hold a concert there, after all, there are still people alive there and they too need entertainment.
Wu Tang Clan Entourage Arrested
Nov 14, 2009 Drugs
Two guys who sometimes perform with the Wu Tang Clan rap group have been arrested in Arkansas, on a tour bus that cops say was filled with marijuana smoke. Ronald Bean aka DJ Mathematics and Patrick Charles aka Streetlife were busted after a routine traffic stop. According to a police report, officers opened the bus door and “could immediately smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the interior of the bus … the bus was filled with smoke and the odor of marijuana.” Cops claim that there were “marijuana blunts and residue were laying in plain sight” and that there were 110 ecstasy tablets hidden inside a can and $8615 in cash. 8 men in total were arrested on suspicion of drug possession with intent to sell.

Rapper Sentenced to Life in Prison
Rapper C-Murder was sentenced to life in prison last Friday after he was convicted of second-degree murder earlier last week. C-Murder, whose real name is Corey Miller and who also happens to be the brother of Master P, was convicted of shooting a 16-year old fan in Louisiana in 2001. What would drive a celebrity to shoot down a fan anyway? Someone was definitely in need of anger management. This was the second time that a jury convicted the rapper in the case but a 2003 conviction was overturned. I don’t think having the name murder in his rap name proved to be beneficial in his case either.

Tru Life on trial
It seems that yet another rapper has brought honor to his kind by getting involved in a violent crime and ending up for trial. It seems that Tru Life and with his younger brother were involved in the lethal stabbing of a man in New York. Tru Life pleaded not guilty and is currently being held without bail. His brother surrender a day after. The rapper’s lawyer of course claims his client is innocent and will no doubt do everything in his power to prove it. So it seems that the saga of the rappers continues and Tru Life is doing his best to write his own verse in the monumental epic.
Queen Latifah’s New Music
May 27, 2009 American Idol, Queen Latifah
Queen Latifah is about to release some new music soon. The rapper has actually released her first new single and has also performed it on American Idol. Surprisingly enough, there’s no rap! Not only is Latifah just straight-up singing on her new song, but the song also has a definite rock vibe. The song is called ‘Cue the Rain’ and I think it’s an amazing song for her. Congratulations to her for making a smooth crossover to a different genre! I can’t wait to hear more of her new sound! I wonder when her new album is going to get released.

Eminem’s old drug returns
It’s actually a lot more optimistic than it sounds. Eminem actually made a statement recently through which he clearly shows that he’s off the conventional drugs and back to his cheeky old self. This is what Eminem said: “I almost feel like a little kid again with rap. I want to play around with different flows. If I don’t feel like it’s what I’m fully capable of, if there’s one weak line, I want to change it. Rap was my drug. It used to get me high and then it stopped getting me high. Then I had to resort to other things to make me feel that… now rap’s getting me high again.” It looks like Eminem is really excited about his upcoming release which bears the name “Relapse”. It seems that Eminem is back on track and a new wave of commercial success and whoring await on the bright, shining horizon.
