Jermaine Jackson Wants Another Michael Jackson Tribute
Mar 10, 2010 Michael Jackson
Jermaine Jackson is planning another Michael Jackson tribute concert to be held in London marking the one year anniversary of the King of Pop’s death. The original tribute concert for the late singer was to take place in Vienna but it ended up being cancelled. Jermaine booked Wembley Arena for June 8 for a star-studded performance but performances have yet to be revealed. Jermaine said “The best way and most suitable way is to assemble the world’s largest tribute in history that is only fitting to a man who moved the hearts and souls of an unimaginable amount.” He should have given up back in Austria.

Usher is Next Michael Jackson
Feb 5, 2010 Jay-Z, Michael Jackson, Usher
No one could ever fill the shoes of Michael Jackson as the King of Pop in my eyes but Jay-Z seems to think differently. The rapper has already made his nomination for the late singer’s successor – Usher. Jay-Z claims that the R&B crooner has the potential to be the next global superstar, based off the tribute that he did to Michael during the Grammys. The rapper said “I thought the Michael Jackson tribute was fantastic and I thought Usher was doing a magnificent job. I think he’s one of the guys that’s in line to, you know, fill those huge shoes. I don’t wanna put that pressure on him, but I think he’s one of the guys that’s in line to do that.” I couldn’t agree less!

Joe Jackson Wants Money
Jan 27, 2010 Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson’s estate doesn’t want to pay Joe Jackson an allowance because the King of Pop himself didn’t want his dad to be a beneficiary under the will and Joe wants to use the money for lavish expenses and not maintenance. According to legal documents that were recently filed, estate lawyers say that Joe was never legally dependent on the late singer during his life. And according to them the so-called maintenance expenses that Joe was asking for actually include vacations, air travel, hotels, assistants and legal fees. Those aren’t really things that need maintaining. He’s just looking for any reason to mooch off of Michael’s money.

Michael Jackson’s dream come true
Jan 12, 2010 Michael Jackson
Well, as the ancients said: better late than never. This must also be true for Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch which is finally going to be turned into a theme park. This is what the operations agent said about the endeavor: “We will begin construction of the facilities this year. We have set aside a specific date, tied to a special Jackson event, for the ground breaking.” Well, too bad Michael Jackson isn’t around to see this anymore, but Joe Jackson will probably made sure that all respects to the spiritual owner of this new theme park will be paid… in full.

New Michael Jackson Creditor Claim
Jan 8, 2010 Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson’s estate is taking hits from all sides as more creditors are coming out with their claims. A new creditor came out earlier this week and it’s a company claiming that it’s owed money for helping the King of Pop refinance the MIJAC catalog. According to a creditor’s claim filed in LA Superior Court, the late singer’s estate owes $328,299.03 in unpaid fees to a small investment banking firm in Baltimore called Signal Hill Capital for financial services related to music publishing assets. As it was previously reported, the grand total for all of the creditors’ claims against the estate is expected to exceed $20 million.

Janet Jackson Spends Christmas with the Kids
Dec 28, 2009 Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson
Janet Jackson spent thousands to make Christmas fun for her late brother Michael Jackson’s three kids, Prince, Paris and Blanket. A source close to the family said “It was to be a quiet, somber holiday this year but Janet has stepped in to make it just like Michael did – fun. Michael loved Christmas. He was like a big kid and now Janet has taken that on. She must have spent thousands on trees, decorations and the kind of toys Michael would have loved to be fooling around with on Christmas morning. Christmas is especially significant for the family this year as the first without Michael and the fact Christmas Day is exactly six months since his death.”

Jermaine Jackson defends his father
Dec 11, 2009 Michael Jackson
Given all of the recent blasts against Joe Jackson and his money-grubbing ways, Jermaine Jackson has decided to step in and defend his father’s rapidly declining reputation. This is what Jermaine Jackson said about the infamous Joe Jackson: “He’s probably, second to Michael, one of the most misunderstood people. And my father is the reason we’re sitting her right now. And because of all the discipline – like we didn’t understand it then – but now we do, very clearly.” Yes, Jermaine Jackson is so right! It is obviously so easy to not see the good intentions Joe Jackson had when he started to promote his little businesses on his TV appearances after Michael Jackson’s death. You can really see how misunderstood the man is.

Michael Jackson’s Movie Gets Help from the Past
Nov 20, 2009 Michael Jackson, Movies
Michael Jackson fans might be upset when they find out that the much hyped ‘This is It’ film, documenting the late singer’s final tour rehearsals, seems to have gotten a bit of help from the past. According to new reports, music experts are saying that some of the sound bytes on the movie are actually from years before. Former BBC senior studio manager Andrew Rose claims “Throughout the film sudden changes in vocal timbre suggest the dropping in of older recordings which may have required significant digital manipulation to fit the new live backing.” The shocking part in all this is that officials at Sony Pictures admit to altering the film. It’s not like it’s going to hurt them now as the film has already grossed over $200 million.
Janet Jackson Blames Dr. Murray
Nov 17, 2009 Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson
In her upcoming interview on ABC with Robin Roberts, Janet Jackson reveals that she places the blame for Michael Jackson’s death on his doctor, Conrad Murray. The singer said “He was the one who was administering. I think he should be responsible.” Janet also talks about the day she found out about the King of Pop’s death. She said “I told them to call me back when they got to the hospital. And I remember thinking, nobody’s calling me back, so I tried calling again and that’s how I found out he was no longer… I couldn’t believe it. It just didn’t ring true to me. It felt like a dream… its still difficult for me to believe. Its, you know, you have to accept what it is.”

Michael Jackson to Dominate Charts
Nov 2, 2009 Billboard Chart, Michael Jackson
Industry projections have come in recently and they are saying that Michael Jackson’s ‘This is It’ album is expected to sell around 300,000 copies in its first week, which is sure to be more than enough to clinch the number 1 spot on the charts. And depending on how the pieces fall together, the King of Pop may end up moving higher on the Forbes list next year. If that were to be the case, the late singer’s posthumous career might end up catching up to the success of his earlier years in the music industry. We all know that it’s going to top the last couple of years.

This Is It director Kenny Ortega said Michael Jackson was “excited”
Oct 30, 2009 Michael Jackson

This Is It director Kenny Ortega said Michael Jackson was “excited” to share his 50 London shows with his children.
The 50-year-old was just weeks away from starting a residency at the O2 Arena in London when he died suddenly at his LA home.
Ortega, who was working with Jackson on the shows, said that he was in great health and was excited for the shows.
Ortega revealed when Jackson first asked him to do the shows, he said to Ryan Seacrest on KIIS FM: “In March, just before he made the announcement in London at the O2 [Arena] that he was, in fact, going to be doing the shows. He called me at home.”
Ortega, who directed the new This Is It movie showing Jackson preparing for the shows, also said that Jackson was “building himself” up physically for the residency.
Asked if he was in good health, he said: “Oh yeah, he was building himself up. You know, he’d come from being in less than great shape, you know. The world hadn’t been the kindest to him.
“But, you know, I think that he was excited about sharing this… sharing the concerts with his children who were now grown up and curious and old enough to appreciate what their dad did.
“He had so many reasons, you know, behind wanting to go out at this time of his life.”

Randy Jackson Talks Zero Inheritance
Oct 15, 2009 Michael Jackson
Everyone expected the Jackson family to wage internal war over who gets what part of Michael Jackson’s estate but Randy Jackson claims that they already have enough money without getting a share of the King of Pop’s inheritance. Randy was reacting to a story out earlier this week revealing that Katherine Jackson’s 40% cut of the late singer’s estate will go directly to Michael’s three kids when she dies. That means that the kids will end up with 80% of the estate with the remaining 20% heading to charity, meaning Michael’s brothers and sisters get nothing. Randy said “The family is fine with it. Who cares about the money? We have enough money. If I cared about the money, I’d be doing a reality show and doing interviews.” That sounds more like Jermaine Jackson.

New Michael Jackson Autopsy Info
Oct 7, 2009 Michael Jackson, Singer
Although tabloids proclaimed that Michael Jackson’s body after death looked sickly and skeletal, the King of Pop’s autopsy report is proving otherwise. While the late singer’s arms were indeed covered with punctures and he had scars on his face and neck, Michael also had some arthritis and damaged lungs. But at 5’9”, 136 pounds and with a strong heart, none of those conditions were life-threatening to the 50-year old, further confirming that Michael died from an overdose of Propofol and sedatives administered by Dr. Conrad Murray. I am truly left wondering what possessed him to do that to such an icon.

Michael Jackson’s Guitar Goddess Orianthi Readies Debut Album
Oct 2, 2009 Michael Jackson, Music
Introducing Orianthi, the guitar phenomenon who is featured prominently in the upcoming Michael Jackson concert documentary, This Is It. Already a renowned musician, Orianthi has been playing guitar since the age of eleven and was discovered by legend Carlos Santana. After playing with artists like Carrie Underwood, ZZ Top, and Prince, she received a MySpace message from Michael Jackson’s musical director asking her to audition for his comeback tour. Following a test run with the King of Pop himself, she was selected as his lead guitarist for his O2 arena dates in London – a crowning acheivement for the 24 year old from Adelaide, Australia.
Now Orianthi is preparing to release her solo debut album, Believe, on October 27th. In addition to her talent at guitar, Orianthi has a gorgeous voice and even sang at Michael Jackson’s Staples Center memorial service. Even before starting rehearsals for his tour though, she was hard at work writing and recording the album with her band. Believe is full of anthemic rock tracks with a sound reminiscent of Paramore or Evanescence, but entirely Orianthi thanks to her signature shreds and thunderous hooks. Her first single, “According to You” is a catchy tale of an ungrateful boyfriend, featuring a killer guitar solo.
To hear the story in her own words, watch Orianthi in this segment from Australia’s Today show. Visit Orianthi.com for updates on this rising star, and be sure to check her out in This Is It out on October 28th.
