Lil Wayne Breaks Digital Sales Record

Congratulations are in order for Lil Wayne as the rapper broke the record for the iTunes store’s single-week album sales by selling over 300,000 downloads in the first four days of his latest album “Tha Carter IV”. Jay-Z and Kanye West actually just recently broke the record when their collaborative album “Watch the Throne” was released. It was a short-lived reign for those two. If that wasn’t enough of a success for Lil Wayne, the combined digital and physical sales of the album is expected to be around 850,000 copies. That is impressive! It’s hard to come up with those first week numbers in the music industry today.

Hot New: How to Love – Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne is back in the spotlight! Much awaited video of the song “How to Love” is finally out!
Lil Wayne has had the release of the video for the song “How to Love.” This is the 3rd song from the album “Tha Carter IV” that “receives” a video. The artist is one of those who have already confirmed that they will perform at the MTV awards, and his new album “Tha Carter IV” will be released soon.
After very bad days for Lil Wayne, it looks like the sun appears and the artist will have a busy period, this time for positive events. The clip “How to Love” is one suitable for the song, is suggestive and has well-chosen shots needed to transmit the emotions.
It works very much around expressions and moments flowing in the rhythm of the lyrics.

New Video from Lil Wayne – How to Love

Lil Wayne recently premiered the music video for “How to Love” exclusively via MTV Jams as “Jam of the Week”. With the song currently sitting at the #6 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100, this video premiere and the upcoming VMA performance, the rapper may be in the fight for the top spot very soon. As for the video, I did not expect it at all. It’s a strong and powerful visual that’s very touching. It’s about a woman who goes through a difficult life, from working as a stripper to prostitution to contracting HIV. It’s just awe-inspiring. I give mad props to whoever came up with the concept.

Pepper Spray Halts Lil Wayne Party

A party crasher brought Lil Wayne’s soiree to an abrupt end when he unleashed a can of harmful pepper spray into the ventilation system. The guy apparently made his way past security at a Montreal club and hurried to a back room where he had access to the air ducts. The unleashed pepper spray then went through the air of the club and affected all of the attendees. Fortunately, everyone including the rapper was evacuated from the premises immediately and no one was harmed. A rep for Lil Wayne says that the rapper is “okay and gearing for his next stop in Toronto.” Whatever the party crasher’s plan was accomplished nothing.

Eminem Named King of Hip Hop

Following their crowning of Lady Gaga as the Queen of Pop, Rolling Stone magazine has now named Eminem as the King of Hip Hop. A lot of fans have taken to their Twitter accounts to express both their agreement and disappointment since. Based on numbers and a bunch of categories in which those numbers are calculated (sales, Grammys, followers, Billboard presence, airtime play, etc), the facts are the facts. Rolling Stone even has all of the charts and math drawn out, category by category, for anyone who refuses to believe it. Coming in second place to Eminem was Lil Wayne. Drake, Kanye West and Jay-Z rounded out the top 5. Interestingly enough, Nicki Minaj, the only woman on the Kings list, placed number 6. Congratulations to Eminem!

Lil Wayne and Drake Making an Album

After seeing Lil Wayne and Drake perform together at the BET Awards, I’m pretty excited after learning of this bit of news. Following the footsteps of Jay-Z and Kanye West, rappers Lil Wayne and Drake have decided to team up for their own collaborative album. Birdman spoke about the project, saying “That’s definitely going to get done. It’s older versus younger. I listened to a few songs [off Watch the Throne], and it feels like an older feel to me. I think with Drake and Wayne, they young, they young cats. You got 23 and 28. Then you got Jay-Z and them, who are older and really on their way out the game. Then you got Wayne and Drake and them, who are still youthful to the game. So it’s two different types of music all the way across the board...

New Song from David Guetta – I Can Only Imagine

David Guetta has a new song out called “I Can Only Imagine”. The track, which features R&B singer Chris Brown and rapper Lil Wayne, is a half mid tempo and half fist-pumping song that’s included on the French DJ’s latest album “Nothing but the Beat”, scheduled for released on August 29th. I’m digging the song. David made a great move by bringing in two of the biggest hit makers today. Chris’ vocals were hot but I could do with a little less auto-tune. Lil Wayne’s verse is ok but it seems a little different from the rest of the song. Overall, I think the track is great.

New Video from DJ Khaled – It Ain’t Over Til It’s Over

DJ Khaled teams up with the queen of hip hop and R&B Mary J Blige, and rappers Fabolous and Jadakiss in “It Ain’t Over Til It’s Over”. The song is the official third single from the DJ/record producer’s debut album “We The Best Forever”, which is in stores now. The album didn’t get a good start when the Lil Wayne-assisted first single “Welcome to My Hood” tanked on the charts. He managed to score a top 10 hit in the US with “I’m on One” featuring Drake. However, I just think that this third single is a bad choice to put out. The song is average and doesn’t really stand out for me. In any case, check out the video for it. If only the song is as easily likeable as the video.

New single from Lil Wayne – Tunechi’s Back

Lil Wayne remixed Rick Ross’s song “Tupac’s Back” and named it “Tunechi’s Back”. On the 13th of July Lil Wayne is releasing a mix tape named “Sorry 4 the Wait”. This mix is actually his way of asking for forgiveness from his fans for delaying the release of his album until the 29th of august. The song “Tunechi’s Back” was made on the beats of “Tupac’s Back”, a song created by Rick Ross. As you might have noticed, it is a trend in the United States to just take a song and adapt it to your own style.
So here is a link to the song “Tunechi’s Back”, enjoy:
