Beyonce Covers Harper’s Bazaar UK

Beyonce is featured on the cover of the September 2011 issue of Harper’s Bazaar UK. The 29-year old R&B singer got to talk about some of her famous friends in the interview. When asked about her experience working with Lady Gaga, Beyonce said “She’s not afraid. I love that. She wanted me to do something crazy, and so I just rolled with it.” She also spoke about her blossoming friendship with Gwyneth Paltrow, saying “She pushes her boundaries all the time. You go to her house and she makes you feel like you never want to go home. She is what I strive to be one day.”

Lady GaGa is getting her own holiday

Unfortunately… or maybe fortunately, Lady GaGa is going to be celebrated only in Taiwan, at least for now. Apparently this is all happening because the singer is finally going on a promotional tour in Taiwain from the 1st to the 5th of July so they’ve decided to make the 3rd of July “Lady GaGa Day”. This is what Taiwanese mayor, Jason Hu, said on the matter: “We have spent a great deal of time and energy inviting Lady Gaga to visit Taichung and we are very pleased to see the success of our efforts…Therefore, we are determined to designate the day as ‘Lady GaGa Day.’ During the event, Lady Gaga might meet the media and I will represent our city in bestowing upon her the keys to the city.” So the time when Lady GaGa will be taking over the world is rapidly approaching… today Taiwan, tomorrow, who knows?

Lady Gaga Performs on French X Factor

Jennifer Lopez wasn’t the only diva to take the stage on the French X Factor last night as princess of pop Lady Gaga also had a turn. The “Born This Way” singer treated the audience with an excellent performance of her single “Edge of Glory” and “Judas”. The always flamboyant entertainer surprised everyone by performing in her underwear and also debuted her brand new long green hair. I wonder how long she plans to keep it or if she’s going to change it every now and then like Nicki Minaj. Interesting thought, no? First Lady Gaga comes out with blue hair like Katy Perry and now this.

TLC Performs on American Idol

The next performance was perhaps the biggest disappointment of last night’s American Idol finale, at least for me. First of all, I don’t find any reason as to why Lil Jon had to start off the performance. Secondly because it was the now two-member TLC that took the stage, with Left Eye having passed away years ago. But what was most disappointing was the fact that it was obvious that T-Boz and Chili were lip synching through their performance of “No Scrubs” and “Waterfalls”. They looked amazing though and the female contestants all seemed thrilled to share the stage with the iconic R&B group.

Lady GaGa is becoming a bit paranoid

With great fame there come great hordes of little dwarfs that pound on the mind with their annoying pickaxes. It’s only a matter of time before the subject starts breaking. It seems that Lady GaGa is having such an episode given her latest assessment of those around her: ”People want you to fail. People want to tear me down, they were going to knife me anyway. The good news is that when they look back they’ll all remember how brave I was, ‘She put out a record about being yourself and we crucified her for it, but she soared on and sat at number one for six weeks and told everyone to fuck off!”’ Right… because when millions if not billions of people buy Lady GaGa’s stuff they’re actually punishing her and bringing her down. The good old days of the Inquisition are long gone… nobody’s going to be crucifying Lady GaGa anytime soon.

Cee-Lo Green Billboard Awards Performance

Cee-Lo Green took the stage to perform at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards, which was held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas this past Sunday. The 36-year old hip hop singer performed a medley of his hit songs including “Crazy”, “Bright Lights Big City” and “Forget You”. During his performance, Cee-Lo’s piano and chair flew through the air doing flips and turns, including a 360 degree turn. I was in awe the whole time. I’m pretty sure I looked stupid with my jaw hanging. Plus, I’m a big fan of his music so seeing him perform is always a great thing for me.

James Durbin pulls it off in both rounds

The American Idol contestant seems t o have absolutely no problem with this contest. On last night’s episode of American Idol James Durbin proved that he has all it takes to be a real superstar. For round one he chose Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin” and he really sold the song and got great input from the judges as to how he handled the difficulty of the song. As for the second round, he managed to nail it too with The Clovers’ “Love Potion no. 9”. Through these performances James Durbin proved that he really is front man material and apparently this went a long way to impressing the judges. If it does the same to the viewers at home, James Durbin might just prove to be the next American Idol.

For the first round, James Durbin sang “Don’t Stop Believin’”; Haley Reinhart took on “Earth Song”; Scotty McCreery performed “Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning”; and Lauren Alaina sang “Anyway”. For the second round, Haley took on “I Who Have Nothing”; Scotty sang “Young Blood”; Lauren performed “Trouble”; and James sang “Love Potion No. 9”

Lady Gaga Video Leaks – Judas

Lady Gaga’s highly anticipated music video for her new single “Judas” has been leaked in all its glory. I don’t think the princess of pop will be happy that it had gotten out several hours before its scheduled world premiere on the E! channel but there’s really nothing that the singer or her camp can do about it now. Lady Gaga will always be a controversial artist but with all the hype that surrounded this video.

New Song from JLo – Hypnotico

There’s another song out from pop singer Jennifer Lopez’s seventh studio album “Love?”. The track is called “Hypnotico” and it’s an electro-dancehall smash that was originally intended for the debut album of Jamaican artist Tami Chynn back in 2008. However, that album never saw the light of day. 3 years later, JLo was passed the song. The RedOne-produced and Lady Gaga co-written number is an absolute banger. I love it. RedOne has further polished the production and JLo has changed the lyrics a bit to adapt to her Latina roots. Sorry Tami, but the song sounds like it was meant for JLo from day one.

50 Cent Defends DJ

50 Cent had some things to say about DJ Mister Cee, who was recently arrested for public display of a lewd act. The rapper isn’t supporting the radio personality’s actions but rather coming to the defense to support Cee being caught with a man. 50 Cent said “It’s only entertaining because he means that much to hip-hop culture. I recognize Mister Cee as the guy who offered us Biggie, so he means that much to the culture. And a lot of the kids that hear the radio don’t see him the same way.” He also spoke of the gay community saying “Who is to judge you when there’s an audience — that is probably one of the strongest audiences, if you look at Lady Gaga’s career — that says that that’s fine? If you say it’s not fine, you’re gonna get attacked. You’re gonna write apology notes.” That’s right. Focus on the law being broken and not what the sex the person was who broke it with him.
