Ricky Romance Accuses Yung Joc of Assault

Raz B’s brother Ricky Romance is claiming that he was ambushed at a concert in Atlanta earlier this week and the singer says that the man responsible for the attack was rapper Yung Joc. Ricky says that Raz was scheduled to perform at the Salute the DJ’s Award Show but never made it to the stage. According to him, Joc’s security team stopped Raz and refused to let him perform because Raz publicly dissed Yung Joc in a song a few months ago. Ricky says he tried to help get Raz past security but they weren’t having it and roughed him up instead. Ricky and Raz were both forcefully thrown out of the Atrium Event Center after the melee.

Lauryn Hill Comes Out 3 Hours Late for Show

Lauryn Hill showed a complete lack of appreciation for her fans by arriving three hours late to her Brooklyn, New York show earlier this month and the washed up R&B singer had the gall to do it again at a concert in Atlanta. Lauryn’s show was supposed to start at 9PM but she didn’t show up until after midnight. She announced that she wanted to play something different so she forced the band to “speed up the music” and ended up ruining her classic songs. A frustrated fan shared “[Lauryn said] I want crowd participation, but nobody could participate because NOBODY knew the music! Everybody was looking around like ‘WHAT SONG IS THIS???’ It was new music completely. The lyrics were the same, but you had to be on ecstasy to follow the music!… She changed the whole thing...

Janet Jackson Concert Date Sells Out in Minutes

When tickets for Janet Jackson’s April 14 concert in Los Angeles went on sale this past Friday morning, tickets ended up getting sold out within 10 minutes. A spokesman for Live Nation said that they had to add another date for April 15 to keep up with the demand. The Number Ones, Up Close and Personal Tour is the pop singer’s first tour since 2008’s Rock Witchu Tour, which had several problems due to poor ticket sales. If the LA dates were anything to go by, Janet’s upcoming tour shouldn’t have any problems. It just goes to show that Janet still has what it takes.

Lauryn Hill Makes Fans Wait

At a concert in Williamsburg, New York last week, Lauryn Hill made fans wait for three hours at a gig before finally gracing the audience with her presence. Needless to say, fans and even members of her band were pretty mad about the delay. Her keyboard player tapes a sign on his kit that read “I was on time” while two fans in the front row held up signs saying “You just lost one” and “This is insulting”. The R&B singer responded to the fans’ disappointment saying that she was “worth the wait” and motioned for them to leave the club if they were going to continue with their hating. You may have been worth the wait in 1998 Lauryn, but not anymore.

Nicki Minaj’s Homeland Overspends for Concert

Nicki Minaj’s homeland of Trinidad and Tobago has been accused of spending over $869,000 (US$139,782) on a concert featuring the rapper last month. The concert, which was also featured on the MTV documentary “My Time Now”, was held to launch the Ministry’s Localize It campaign but it does not explain the cash they shelled out. unfortunately, not as many people came out as expected because the tickets were so expensive. If the government was not accused of denying funding to youth organizations because of the cost of the concert, then this was just a mistake. But it’s apparently not the case. I hope it was worth it.

Rapper Ja Rule will spend two years in jail after pleading guilty today (Monday) to gun charges. The hip-hop star was arrested in July 2007 with a loaded .40 pistol in his Mercedes-Benz Maybach car in New York City. He had just left a ‘Lil Wayne & Friends’ concert in the city – the same night that Lil Wayne was also arrested on weapons charges of his own. Ja Rule, whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins, pleaded guilty to attempted weapon possession just before his trial was about to start. “This isn’t a good day, fellas,” Atkins, 34, said as he left Manhattan Supreme Court following his guilty plea. The rapper, whose last album came out in 2005, will reappear in court on February 9 to schedule a sentencing date...

Cee Lo Green and Big Boi Team Up for Tour

Cee Lo Green is apparently teaming up with Big Boi, with whom he’s collaborated with in the past, for a duel concert tour currently titled the Georgia Power Tour which is set to kick off in 2011. There are not many details available as of the moment but I’m pretty sure that the soul singer and the rapper will put on an amazing show! I’m excited to see this one go down. I wonder what they mean by “duel concert”. Would the two music artists be throwing down a battle-like show? I have to admit, that idea has got me more excited.

Paul Wall Apologizes

Paul Wall recently lost his cool and ended up beating a fan with his microphone after the fan flipped him off at a concert. Apparently, the has-been rapper now feels bad about acting like a psychopath and has issued an apology. He said “I want to sincerely apologize to my San Antonio fans … for allowing myself to become distracted during my recent performance. I apologize for temporarily taking my eyes off that goal. I will learn and grow from this incident and be a better person, artist and performer as a result.” I wonder why the guy never filed any complaints or charges.
