Black Eyed Peas to Go on Break

Fergie recently revealed that not only will she and the rest of her Black Eyed Peas band mates taking a break from releasing material as a group but that will.i.am has also been working on his own solo project that he’ll be releasing soon. The hip hop singer said “I believe Will is coming out with a solo album. I’ve heard it. It’s called ’Black Einstein’ and it’s amazing. I’ve been waiting for him to come out with this for so long because I want it. He won’t give it to me. I want it for the gym. He’s so amazing – just such a genius lyricist and I’m really excited for his project. I am so excited to take a break. The guys know that I’ve been waiting and it’s time.” Fair enough. I wonder if Fergie will take the time off to start a family with hubby Josh Duhamel.

District Member Dies

Cali Swag District member M-Bone passed away recently as a result of gunshot wounds. The hip hop artist and his band are best known for their hit single “Teach Me How to Dougie”. This is a very sad tragedy – one that could have easily been avoided. My thoughts go out to the members of M-Bone’s family, his friends and his colleagues. I hope all of you remember that violence is never the answer. There’s always a solution to every problem but guns, fights and killing aren’t one of them. I hope M-Bone’s death does some sort of good and teach that important lesson to anyone reading this.

Adele Rivals The Beatles

Congratulations are in order for Adele as the singer has become the first living artist since The Beatles to achieve the feat of having two Top 5 hits in both the Official Singles Chart and Official Albums Chart in the UK. The last time that something like that happened was when the iconic rock band held the record on December 12, 1964. Adele now has herself a huge place in the history of music by achieving the same record as The Beatles. She deserves it all. With her new album “21”, there’s no room left for questioning that Adele is one amazing artist.

Brian Littrell Talks AJ McLean’s Rehab

Backstreet Boys member Brian Littrell claims that there’s one big difference between band mate AJ McLean’s current stint in rehab and his last one. And that is no one forced him to get help this time. Brian recently went on Bob 93.3 in North Carolina, telling the radio host “I’m proud that he would go into this situation willingly … Last time it was a lot worse. He really went into rehab unwillingly the last time.” According to the singer, AJ decided to commit to rehab over a month ago while the band was on the road. Hopefully, this would be AJ’s last stint in rehab.

Lauryn Hill Comes Out 3 Hours Late for Show

Lauryn Hill showed a complete lack of appreciation for her fans by arriving three hours late to her Brooklyn, New York show earlier this month and the washed up R&B singer had the gall to do it again at a concert in Atlanta. Lauryn’s show was supposed to start at 9PM but she didn’t show up until after midnight. She announced that she wanted to play something different so she forced the band to “speed up the music” and ended up ruining her classic songs. A frustrated fan shared “[Lauryn said] I want crowd participation, but nobody could participate because NOBODY knew the music! Everybody was looking around like ‘WHAT SONG IS THIS???’ It was new music completely. The lyrics were the same, but you had to be on ecstasy to follow the music!… She changed the whole thing...

Oasis Brothers at War Again

It’s no secret that the brothers who once made up the band Oasis have bad blood between them. However, Liam Gallagher is throwing down the gauntlet against his brother Noel, accusing him of stealing music from him for his solo album. The rock star confessed to one source that he’s heard his brother’s solo venture and that it sounds familiar as he insists that many of the tracks were actually his songs. Liam explained “I’ve heard his new record ‘cos I f****** sung on half of it. When I was in America for Dig Out Your Soul he swiped some off it because he obviously knew he wanted to do a solo album. So he can talk all the bullsh*t about, ‘Oh, I was intimidated,’ and all that. F***ing nonsense. Behave. He knows. The people know. And I know...

Lauryn Hill Makes Fans Wait

At a concert in Williamsburg, New York last week, Lauryn Hill made fans wait for three hours at a gig before finally gracing the audience with her presence. Needless to say, fans and even members of her band were pretty mad about the delay. Her keyboard player tapes a sign on his kit that read “I was on time” while two fans in the front row held up signs saying “You just lost one” and “This is insulting”. The R&B singer responded to the fans’ disappointment saying that she was “worth the wait” and motioned for them to leave the club if they were going to continue with their hating. You may have been worth the wait in 1998 Lauryn, but not anymore.

Abbey Road Named Landmark

Last week, the crosswalk near Abbey Road studios, made famous by The Beatles and their album, aptly called “Abbey Road”, was declared a historic landmark by the British government. The crossing was given the Grade II status, an honor generally reserved for buildings of historic significance. When reached for a comment, Paul McCartney expressed his happiness with the recognition, acknowledging that it’s been a great year for him and the band and “hearing that the Abbey Road crossing is to be preserved is the icing on the cake.” I think it’s an honor that well deserved. There’s never been a more memorable place to cross the street.

Black Eyed Peas Rock the AMAs

The Black Eyed Peas rocked out on stage at the 2010 American Music Awards held at the Nokia Theatre LA Live in Los Angeles this past Sunday. The hip hop band gave a fun glow in the dark performance of their new song “This Time (The Dirty Bit)”, which samples the classic song “The Time of My Life”. I was loving the light up cube heads on the back up dancers. If there was an award for most memorable performance of the night, I would have to give it to these guys. They always come up with the most outrageous things that you can’t help but love them.
