Snoop Dogg will have his own TV show

Ever wonder why Snoop Dogg turned down an offer to be a judge on the US X Factor? Well, it wasn’t because he couldn’t stand to be around Simon Cowell’s unbearably loveable presence… or not entirely because of it. Snoop Dogg explained it himself: “The ‘American Idol’ and ‘X Factor’ shows, they’re great shows. But I think I need to make a show like that, that’s directed straight to the hood. To the artists that don’t get the attention, that don’t have the money to make themselves this raw talent and ability. I’m looking for a deal from one of you TV networks to give Snoop Dogg his own hood TV show where I can find America’s hottest hood artists. Holla at me.” Well his idea certainly has its merits… and with the recent boom of “talent shows” in the US it probably won’t be hard for Snoop Dogg to find himself a sponsor. He might even start thinking of names for his new show.

Two Judges Confirmed for American Idol 11

With FOX ready to go with the schedule of American Idol in 2012, I’m sure all of you are wondering if the judges’ table will remain as it is. Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson have reportedly both signed multi-year contracts ahead of this year’s season so that should guarantee that they’ll be back. However, Jennifer Lopez didn’t sign a multi-year contract and instead went with a single season that had the option for renewal. In a recent interview, JLo has revealed that she hasn’t made her mind up yet, saying “I don’t know if I will do another season [of American Idol]. I’m taking it day by day at the moment and we’ll see what happens.”

James Durbin pulls it off in both rounds

The American Idol contestant seems t o have absolutely no problem with this contest. On last night’s episode of American Idol James Durbin proved that he has all it takes to be a real superstar. For round one he chose Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin” and he really sold the song and got great input from the judges as to how he handled the difficulty of the song. As for the second round, he managed to nail it too with The Clovers’ “Love Potion no. 9”. Through these performances James Durbin proved that he really is front man material and apparently this went a long way to impressing the judges. If it does the same to the viewers at home, James Durbin might just prove to be the next American Idol.

For the first round, James Durbin sang “Don’t Stop Believin’”; Haley Reinhart took on “Earth Song”; Scotty McCreery performed “Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning”; and Lauren Alaina sang “Anyway”. For the second round, Haley took on “I Who Have Nothing”; Scotty sang “Young Blood”; Lauren performed “Trouble”; and James sang “Love Potion No. 9”

Cheryl Cole’s accent needs to be mellowed

The singer has apparently hit yet another problem in her ongoing quest to become a judge on Simon Cowell’s US X Factor. It seems that the producers have a problem with Cheryl Cole’s northern English accent and she has to soften it a bit before she can actually be a judge on the show. This is what a source said about Cheryl Cole’s new predicament: “If audiences and contestants can’t understand her it is actually a regulatory offense. Cheryl will be told not to use the word ‘babe’ to describe a pretty girl. Other key words she’s being taught include saying ‘pants’ and not ‘trousers,’ ‘butt’ not ‘bum’ and ‘cookies’ not ‘biscuits.’ They also want to clamp down on her saying ‘pet’ which literally means ‘animal’ in the States.” Things seem to have been so much easier for Cheryl Cole back in the UK. If only the American audiences wouldn’t be so averse to learning a new word or two, heaven forbid for that to ever happen.

Cher Lloyd Signs with Jay-Z

Cher Lloyd, a finalist from UK’s reality TV singing competition X Factor, is rumored to have signed with Jay-Z’s record label Roc Nation. Black Eyed Peas front man will.i.am, who performed with Cher on the show’s finals and has reportedly already recorded a song with her, previously said that he would sign her to his label but I guess he didn’t close the deal. A source tells UK’s The Sun “Even though Cher didn’t do terrifically well in the X Factor finals, there’s been a hell of a lot of interest in her. Will.i.am’s backing only intensified the battle to get her signature. After weighing up the pros and cons, it was thought that the team at Roc Nation would be best placed to turn her dreams of stardom into a reality.”

Sammi Sweetheart Ignores Diddy

Sammi Sweetheart of the Jersey Shore was spotted having a night out on the town in LA recently when she pulled a pretty stupid stunt by ignoring the great Diddy. Reports claim that the reality TV star was out with friends when the rap mogul’s ride pulled up and he called out to her. Diddy told her how much he loved the show and how he was thinking about her. Instead of dropping to her knees and thank the stars that Diddy knows who she is, Sammi ignored him. I don’t know how things ended but I can definitely say that she was stupid about that. She’s not famous enough to support such a dumb move.

Tyra Banks: Gossip Girl guest-star

Model-turned-TV-host Tyra Banks is set to join the cast of Gossip Girl.

The star has signed on for a guest role in the hit teen show – but she will not be playing herself.

Instead, Banks will star as an actress co-starring in a film with Hilary Duff, who is also appearing on the show as a movie star called Olivia Burke.

Banks is scheduled to appear in episode four of the new series, which begins airing in the US in September.

This is her first acting role since 2004, when she guest-starred in an episode of American Dreams.

Banks currently has her own talk show and is both the host and executive producer of America’s Next Top Model.

50 Cent’s reality TV show shelved by MTV

Rapper 50 Cent’s own reality TV show hosted by MTV called 50 Cent: The Money And The Power has been shelved by MTV after continuously receiving poor ratings.

This show is about rapper 50 Cents attempt to find the next hip-hop mogul from a group of fourteen wannabes, where the winner would be given prize money of $100,000. The sum will feature as an investment from 50 Cent and he will help the winner of the show to start their own business venture.

But from the time it debuted on TV on November 6th, 2008 the show completely failed to kick off and viewers weren’t forthcoming either and almost after one & half months after going on air the network has now decided to scrap the flailing show.

Yeah I somewhat agree with this, I too tried to get into it, mainly because it was aired on my B’Day, but it really didn’t stick. 50 did not leave anything to the others’ and as usual played the show as if he was some kinda mafia boss. 50, you’re not the really tough guy; you’re a snitch and poor dumb yoyo. You are a follower..didnt mommy teach you to be a leader?

Diddy is a Lawyer

Diddy filmed his part playing defense attorney Derek Powell last week for an episode of CSI: Miami that will air in February 2009. Diddy told People just how he came about the role when he talked with CBS execs. He said “I don’t want to play no musician, I don’t want to play a criminal. None of those stereotypical things. I want to play a lawyer.” The entertainment mogul also said that he was thrilld to be on one of the biggest shows in the world. Diddy said “The ‘CSI: Miami’ team is like the Yankees. Me coming on the set, I’m like a Little League player with the Yankees. [David Caruso], he’s like Obi-Wan Kenobi or something! He taught me so much and let me ask questions and protected me. He’s like the coach of the team.”
