TI is officially a free man and his family didn’t hesitate in putting together a welcome home party for the ages filled with oodles and oodles of Southern-style cooking. The rapper was recently released from an Atlanta halfway house and it’s been said that his aunt and wife whipped up a celebration dinner in honor of his freedom, featuring a family recipe mac ‘n cheese, fried and BBQ chicken, fish, ribs, collard greens, salad and red velvet cake. Not only that, the dinner is actually potluck style with all of TI’s close friends and family bringing even more food. I wonder if it’s too late to crash the party… or if there are leftovers.

TI’s lawyer, Steve Sadow, has announced that the rapper has been returned to a halfway house to complete the remainder of his prison sentence. Upon his arrival at the halfway house, his lawyer released a statement saying “We have good reason to believe that this favorable result was reached because of the proactive and assertive approach taken to protect T.I.’s rights by providing B.O.P officials and the media with reliable and accurate information and that T.I. did not intend to violate his transfer furlough or any other B.O.P rules en route from the prison facility in Arkansas to the halfway house in Atlanta …T.I. will be released from custody on Sept. 29, and then will be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for a period of 1 year.” I’m glad that’s sorted.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, TI was recently released early from prison and transported to a halfway house. But in a matter of days, the rapper was sent back into the pokey for allegedly misleading officers about the method of transportation he chose for travelling. However, photos have recently surfaced showing TI being walked to the bus by a prison guard, making those reports utter crap. Then there were reports that he was sent back because there were VH1 producers for his reality TV show in the bus when he wasn’t supposed to conduct business while in transit. Those people reportedly tried to testify otherwise but they kept being ignored. TI’s lawyers are now saying that they believe that prison officials were out to get the rapper, especially with the officials changing their story around. It’s really starting to look like that. If they were planning to send him back in anyway, why release him early in the first place?
TI just got out of prison but he just couldn’t wait to start shooting a new reality TV show for VH1. Apparently, it’s about the rapper readjusting to life as a free man after being locked up for nearly a year. The show, which has yet to be given a title, promises that viewers will get an up close and personal look as TI is “reunited with his wife and kids and thrust back into society at this crucial juncture in his life.” How much could have changed in a year that he has to go to a process of readjustment? I would have understood the premise of the whole show better if he was locked up for 15 years.
TI’s wife, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, just scored a major victory as the drug possession case against her has been dismissed. The LA County District Attorney’s office says that the case was dropped because Tiny completed 24 sessions of a certified drug diversion program in Georgia. The case stemmed from the arrest of the rapper and his wife after getting pulled over on Sunset Boulevard back in September. They were booked for possession of a controlled substance. The DA previously dropped the case against TI since the rapper was already headed back to prison since the arrest was enough to violate his federal probation.
TI recently premiered the music video for his song “No Mercy” via MTV. The song is the title track of the rapper’s upcoming album which is in stores now. The track is said to be a promo single that was released through iTunes last with the official next single being the Christina Aguilera-assisted “Castle Walls”. I personally like “No Mercy” the song with its obvious personal meaning to TI. It’s a good thing that he was smart enough to tape several videos before he went back into prison. I wonder if he also shot the video for “Castle Walls” too.
T.I. feat. The Dream – No Mercy – Music Video:
Even though he’s in prison, T.I.’s new album is still coming next month, but until that happens, the singer just released a music video for the song “Get Back Up”. The video even features the ill-reputed Chris Brown. The song is your standard hip-hop tune, with a little chorus in the background and a somewhat regretful feeling to it and the video is a collage of T.I. and Chris Brown rapping about standing up for yourself, regardless of the mistakes you might make and a bunch of people more or less exemplifying this. It’s quite befitting seeing how T.I. is currently back in prison and who knows, maybe even Chris Brown might find a bit of redemption with this one.
The noble rapper who has recently been sent back to jail for eleven months for violating his probation has apparently rubbed off on his wife a little of that hankering for jail time. Tameka Cottle, T.I.’s wife, has apparently been caught with some ecstasy a few days ago and she is risking a bit of jail time herself… a year to be more exact. It’s a pity there really are no strings that T.I. could pull to get his wife to join him in prison. That would be quite the poetically romantic experience, wouldn’t it? At least that would be the case if T.I. could also get a prison just for the two of them.
