TI Re-Appears
Mar 2, 2010 Rap Music, Rapper, T.I.
Rapper TI recently stepped out with his fiancé Tameka Cottle to support her Alzheimer’s research fundraiser ‘For the Love of Our Fathers’ at Atlanta’s Opera venue. The rapper joined his beautiful girl on stage at the end of the evening and said “I am very well, very happy to be seen”. TI is still serving out the rest of his sentence for gun possession in a halfway house in Georgia. His manager also revealed that the rapper is working on both a new album and a film that are both due out at the end of summer. His manager talked about the album saying “He’s sounding beautiful. His spirit is really good. He’s got the eye of the tiger. There’s no theme as of yet. The sound is definitely not a bunch of samples.” It sounds like TI is getting back on track.

T.I. Lawsuit
Jan 29, 2010 T.I.
TI, who is currently in a halfway house after doing time for weapons possession, is being sued for copyright infringement. Rapper Motoe Blizzid is claiming that the legally troubled rapper used part of his 2004 song ‘Reverence’ in the TI hit track ‘What You Know’. Blizzid is alleging that the 2006 single has the “same rate of harmonic range” and that they have “nearly identical instrumental melodic lines in terms of pitch, shape and rhythm”. He is seeking damages and profits received from ‘What You Know’. While there are a lot of songs that sound alike, from what Blizzid is alleging, it seems like TI might have to pay up.

TI May Get Early Release
After beginning his 366-day sentence for pleading guilty to illegal firearms possession and possessing a gun as a convicted felon in May, rapper TI may end up getting an early release to a halfway house to finish his sentence as soon as January 2010. A spokesperson for the Bureau of Prisons explained “If his full-term release date is in March, it’s not uncommon for an individual to be released to a halfway house to serve out the last portion of their federal sentence. There are a number of factors that need to be considered: if the person is not a danger to the community, the current offense, the individual’s prior criminal history, the availability of programs and space availability.” TI’s plea deal also includes 1500 hours of community service, a $100,000 fine, a year on house arrest and 2 years probation.

Ludacris Rescues Atlanta
The rain has rolled out of Atlanta but the misery is still setting in but rapper Ludacris and TI are helping their hometown to get back on its feet. It has been said that The Ludacris Foundation has partnered up with Home Depot and Sam’s Club to help the victims of the Atlanta floods, which City Hall officials say caused over $61 million in damages and destroyed nearly 500 homes. A rep from the foundation says that both rappers donated $10,000 each to the cause. The foundation’s rep also said that they are planning a large food back and a gift card giveaway.

Rapper exes on new reality show
Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, T.I.’s fiancée, and Antonia “Toya” Carter, Lil Wayne’s former wife, will be joining forces for a new reality show on Black Entertainment Television called “Tiny & Toya”. Toya said the following about the upcoming show: “We’re trying to create our own identity. We’re letting people know what we’re really all about. We’re trying to get our businesses up and running and just having fun — the way we live life for ourselves.” Yes, and what better place to find yourself than on public television, right? I’m sure Toya and Tiny will find this to be a most revelating experience at the end of which they will both feel like renewed human beings… or at least that’s what they are most likely going to say.

T.I. shooter gets convicted
Jun 26, 2009 T.I.
A man who was involved in a highway gun battle in Ohio that killed a member of T.I.’s entourage was sentenced recently to seventeen years. It seems that Padron Thomas testified against his brother who was responsible for the murder which occurred after a concert T.I. had in Cincinnati. In exchange for this testimony, Padron Thomas received a reduced sentence while his brother got the full sixty-six years. This was all happening back in 2006… another example of how fast-acting the justice system is. And strange that T.I. was probably involved in the whole process of statements, testimonials and whatnots. It’s apparently clear that rappers act as anti-catalysts for the justice process… or is it celebrities on a more general note?

TI’s Jail Time Reduced
May 22, 2009 T.I.
Considering how a lot of celebrities can get off with having their jail time reduced, it shouldn’t be a surprise that TI’s time behind bars has been reportedly reduced to 60 days because he has already served 305 days at home. The rapper was sentenced to a year and a day in jail for felony weapons charges. In prison, TI won’t receive any special treatment, sharing his cell with a roommate, moving within the general population and assigned to work detail. He only has a couple of days left to turn himself in. Would you believe that he has two music video shoots scheduled in the week before that deadline?
T.I. will be coming to Arkansas
The rapper will be paying a visit to the southern state, but unfortunately it will probably be longer than he wishes it and it won’t be for entertainment purposes. It seems that T.I. has a prison sentence to serve, like any respectable musician from his branch, and he’s going to be serving it in a low-security Federal prison in Forrest City. T.I. has supposedly proclaimed himself “King of the South” and now he’ll have the opportunity to vie for leadership in the institution where 1500 other inmates will be residing. Ironic that that number is exactly the same as the number of free tickets for Eminem’s free concert. I wonder if Eminem is up for a trip down south for his fellow rappers.
TI Headed for Slammer
Mar 30, 2009 T.I.

TI has finally been sentenced and the judge says that he has to go to jail for a year and a day. An Atlanta federal court sentenced the 28-year old rapper last week on federal weapons charges related to buying machine guns and silencers. The plea deal also requires TI to be subjected to a number of requirements after his prison sentence including “an audit of his finances, drug counseling, DNA testing and random searches of his property, and he will not be able to own firearms.” The rapper must also complete 500 hours of community service after jail time. He has between 30 and 60 days to turn himself in.

T.I. Pays More
Mar 3, 2009 T.I.

TI has been ordered by an Atlanta judge to pay up more money in child support for his two kids with his ex LaShon Dixon. TI was previously paying up $2000 per month to $3000 per month to now $5000 a month. The rapper was initially required to pay for his 7 and 9-year old sons’ private school education but he no longer bears that burden. He and his ex will also split the cost of extracurricular activities and medical expenses. The pair will retain joint custody of the kids. TI also has kids with fiancé Tameka Cottle. Hopefully, he’s treating those children well.

T.I. and Terrence Howard Take Back Chris Brown Comments
Feb 17, 2009 Chris Brown, Rihanna, T.I.

After making comments seemingly in support of Chris Brown, rapper TI and actor Terrence Howard are taking back their statements. Both have admitted to speaking insensitively before knowing all the facts surrounding the domestic assault case on Chris Brown after he allegedly hit Rihanna. In his retraction, Terrence said “When they (paparazzi) asked me about Chris Brown the other day, I was in no way aware of what he had been accused of. Had I known, I would have never had said something so insensitive.” TI also said that his comments were out of line because he “made a mistake of commenting before understanding the situation.” Lesson: think before you speak.

T.I. Shows Some Skin
Feb 2, 2009 Concert Gig, T.I.

T.I. showed some skin and stripped to his briefs during a gig at Jet Nightclub in Las Vegas this past Monday. This was the rapper’s last west coast performance before he has to head to prison next month as part of a plea deal for felony weapons charges. He was looking mighty fine! But honey, you need to bulk up a bit if you’re going to be heading to jail soon. Otherwise, you might get your butt kicked really badly while there – or not if you manage to get yourself the star treatment. Either way, I think he needs to head to the gym ASAP.

T.I. Thanks God
Jan 26, 2009 T.I.
TI was as the Hip Hop Inaugural Ball in DC where he gave thanks in a weird but truthful way. He said “I want to thank God for somehow … I know he perfect. So I’mma thank him for everything. I’mma thank him for making me drop out of school. I’mma thank him for making me run the streets. I’mma thank him for making me sell crack. I’mma thank him for making me have shoot-outs. I’mma thank him for allowing me to watch my partners die in my arms, So I’d be fearful enough for my life and paranoid enough to go out and cop machine guns and silencers so I catch a fed case and I have to put up $3 million for my bond so I have to spend seven months of my life in my house, so I have to spend a year of my life in prison just so I be validated enough to get out there and touch the youth because they know that I done been through it, and if I say it, it means something. You know what I’m saying?”

Rappers at the Barack Obama Inaugural Ball
Jan 22, 2009 Barack Obama, T.I.
The rapper . had a very interesting speech at the Inaugural Ball in Washington D.C. Here are just a few of his breathtaking words: “I want to thank God for somehow … I know he perfect. So I’mma thank him for everything. I’mma thank him for making me drop out of school. I’mma thank him for making me run the streets. I’mma thank him for making me sell crack.” And it goes on an on. First of: what language is he speaking in, is that English? And secondly: that’s the kind of Americans they have over there? Apparently he’s the CEO of a record company and also a reputed rapper and even actor… and he got all that way by selling crack on the streets? Tisk, tisk…

TI Pays Up
Jan 14, 2009 T.I.

Rapper TI went to court in Atlanta last week to pay up eight grand for his baby momma’s legal fees. The rapper really loves to spend time in court, doesn’t he? LaShon Dixon hit the rapper up for cash when TI failed to pay the bills as part of an ongoing child support deal. TI’s stupid excuse for that is that the order got lost when he changed assistants. That isn’t going to win him any ‘Father of the Year’ awards. Though this little matter is now settled, it’s not exactly over yet. TI has to go back to court in March for a weapons charge sentencing for which he is expected to serve up to a year in the slammer.
TI Goes Glam Before the Slam
Dec 30, 2008 T.I.

It’s been a great year for TI but we all know that he can’t run away from having to face jail time in 2009 for those pesky gun charges. That thought should at least have him partying this New Years Eve because it might be a while before he gets to party again. Producer Michael Satsky has the rapper performing on NYE at The Gansevoort South Beach Hotel. It’s just too bad that he has to pay for those gun charges now when his life is getting better. He’s had a good year when it comes to his music and he’s also going good in his personal life as he’s been surrounding himself by actresses like Chloe Sevigny instead of machine guns these days.
Rapper T.I. worried what effects his prison stint might have on his kids

How convenient Clifford Harris (his real name). Do these guys ever think of these same things before committing such crimes? Means this chap keeps not 1 but 3 machine guns and two silencers. After being arrested he now fears what impact his impending prison spell will have on his young sons.
He says, “My oldest is 12 – she understands. She’s strong and smart. The three weeks I was in, before I got to come home, she said to me, ‘Don’t worry. I’ll hold things down ’til you get back.’”
If ever man thought about the consequences of crimes such as these then the world would have been a safer place to live. I am not vouching for world peace or anything right now but we all must give this a thought.
Neither am I happy that his daughter and sons would have through a lot of pain and agony when he his taken away for his sentence. But it is really very hard for the kids to have to go to school were some ass holes would inevitably drag this issue.
Hopefully this man has learnt his lesson think 10 times before doing anything illegal here onwards.

TI Wins
Oct 11, 2008 T.I.

TI was just ordered to pay $3,000 per month to his baby mama to help support their two kids. You may think that the rapper lost on that deal but it’s actually a lot less than what the mama wanted. A source says that LaShon Dixon, the mom, was gunning for $10,000 a month which is a big jump from the $2,000 she’s getting now. But the Atlanta judge wasn’t moved by her claims and instead just gave her a one grand bump. TI will still have to shell out for private school, medical bills, and extracurricular expenses. After the court hearing, Dixon’s lawyer, Randy Kessler said “every little bit helps.”
