Kanye West Leads BET Nods

Everyone may still be upset at what Kanye West did to Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV VMAs but there’s a network which isn’t – BET. The rapper received nine nominations for the fourth annual BET Hip Hop Awards which will air on October 27th. Kanye leads in the nominations with Jay-Z and Lil Wayne following with seven nods each and TI having six nods. People may not be happy with Kanye as a person but they sure are happy with his music. This time, I bet he can hog the spotlight and ruin his image without having to hurt someone else in turn.

Kanye West apologises for ruining Taylor Swift’s big VMAs moment

Kanye West photo

Backtracking Kanye West has issued an apology to Taylor Swift for ruining her big moment at the MTV Video Music Awards.

The hip hop star took to his blog almost immediately after the show on Sunday night to admit he was in the wrong.

He promised to apologise to Taylor for going on stage during her acceptance speech to claim Beyonce deserved to win the Best Female Video award.

But he insisted: “I’m not crazy yall, I’m just real.”

Kanye blogged: “I’m sooooo sorry to Taylor Swift and her fans and her mom.

“I spoke to her mother right after and she said the same thing my mother would’ve said.

“She is very talented! I like the lyrics about being a cheerleader and she’s in the bleachers!

“I’m in the wrong for going on stage and taking away from her moment!

“Beyonce’s video was the best of this decade! I’m sorry to my fans if I let you guys down!!!!

“I’m sorry to my friends at MTV. I will apologise to Taylor 2mrw. Welcome to the real world!!!!

“Everybody wanna booooo me but I’m a fan of real pop culture!!!

“No disrespect but we watchin’ the show at the crib right now cause… well you know!!!!

“I’m still happy for Taylor!!!! Boooyaaawwww!!!! You are very very talented!!!

“I gave my awards to Outkast when they deserved it over me… That’s what it is!!!!

“I’m not crazy yall, I’m just real. Sorry for that!!! I really feel bad for Taylor and I’m sincerely sorry!!! Much respect!!!!”

    MIA to be at Grammys

Despite being due to deliver her first child the night of the show, MIA plans on performing at the Grammys. The singer reasoned “They say that you’re often late the first time, so I’m planning to go. We’ll see. People are trying to get me to relax and focus on the baby. It’s like being in parallel universes.” If she gives birth during the show, that would make it great TV. And if she doesn’t give birth on stage, there’s still that Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus duet to look out for. That would be a good lesson in opposites.

    Beyonce to be Number 1

I guess Sasha really is fierce. According to HITS Daily Double, Beyonce’s new double disc ‘I Am…Sasha Fierce’ is said to be the #1 album by next week. She is expected to sell anywhere between 500,000 to 550,000 units of her album. That’s not good enough to match Taylor Swift’s sales though as the country singing cutie sold 592,000 copies of her latest album. If Beyonce does get number 1, it’s going to be a close call for #2 – either David Cook, Nickelback or Taylor. I hope Taylor beats the boys. Either way, it’s not going to be a bad week for any of the singers.
