Snoop Dogg Does Comedy
Mar 10, 2010 Snoop Dogg
Rapper Snoop Dogg is teaming up with comedian Mike Epps in a comedy stage show called ‘Imagine That!’ portraying former nightclub performers in jail who are trying to break out. Mike said “This is an incredible opportunity to combine our similar, but different worlds of entertainment together on stage for the first time.” Snoop added “We’ve worked together in the past on some projects and knew that our audiences would love to see us bring Hip-Hop music and Hip-Hop comedy together on stage.” The tour begins on April 27 at Harrah’s Rincon Casino in San Diego. Will you watch it?

Snoop Dogg is Welcome Back in the UK
Mar 8, 2010 Snoop Dogg
Snoop Dogg has won his legal battle to be allowed back in the UK after 3 years of being banned by the government. The rapper was arrested at London’s Heathrow airport back in 2006 and was denied entry back into the country after that due to his prior incidents involving drugs and firearms citing him as a threat. The ban was lifted in 2008 but officials appealed and reversed the decision. Snoop’s case was brought to officials last Friday with his lawyers wanting them to consider the rapper’s work as a high school football coach and appearing on family friendly shows when making their decision. Two senior immigration border authorities ruled in his favor so he can now return.

Snoop Dogg is a role model
Jan 22, 2010 Snoop Dogg
And it seems that the rapper isn’t just any role model for any old run down, poor kid, no, Snoop Dogg is a role model for big people, like Tom Cruise whom the rapper thinks whishes to be in his shoes. This is what Snoop Dogg said on the matter: “When I started to star in films I used to say, ‘I dream of becoming the black version of Tom Cruise.’ Today I think it’s the other way round, ‘Tom Cruise could dream of becoming the white version of Snoop Dogg.’” Right, well, who wouldn’t give anything to be any type of version of Snoop Dogg? Just imagine… you could be like one of Santa’s helpers, but with way more benefits.

Snoop Dogg on GPS
Dec 16, 2009 Rapper, Snoop Dogg
If you’re getting tired of the boring voices on GPS tracking systems telling you where to go, well you can stop fretting as Snoop Dogg is coming to the rescue. The 38-year old rapper has lent his voice out to GPS company TomTom, providing two versions of voiceovers. One is said to be Rated G, without swearing and somewhat understandable, and the other has tons of swearing and is hardly understandable. Snoop talked about the random project saying “It’s really because when I be riding the car and I be hearing the boring ass lady that be doing all the time it bothering me. She’s always turning my music down and being like, ‘turn left, go right, straight ahead.’”

Snoop Dogg wants to step into Oprah’s shoes
Nov 27, 2009 Oprah, Snoop Dogg
After the tragic development of Oprah giving up her lifelong profession of making the world a better place with her talk show, it seems Snoop Dogg wants to step in and take charge of this massive responsibility. Here’s what Snoop Dogg said on the matter: “I’m trying to proposition the networks right now. If you’re wanting a nice, black, exciting young male who wants to turn the TV world right up – get at me. I heard Oprah Winfrey is leaving and there’s nobody who can do what Oprah did but, ahem – hello! Hello!” A nice, black, exciting young male? It sounds more like Snoop Dogg’s auditioning for a strip show, rather than Oprah’s old show. What’s the world of rap coming to anyway?

Jay-Z seeking a new music partner
Oct 6, 2009 Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg
The rapper is in search of a new partner with which to broaden his musical horizons… and he doesn’t want just anybody, no, Jay-Z wants to go co-op with Liam Gallagher from Oasis, and for some mighty fine reasons, as the rapper himself admits: “I hear Snoop Dogg might be teaming up with Noel. If that’s the case then I would love to work with Liam. Their music is tight and I think we could blend our styles well. When I teamed up with Linkin Park nobody expected that to work but we made a massive success of it. The same could happen with Liam. When you have two artists like us in a room just throwing about ideas you come up with something brilliant fairly easily. I don’t know what he is up to now but he can give me a call.” You cannot read this and not think of that old folk-tale of the imitation-obsessed lad that jumps into a well after his “source of inspiration”. Jay-Z seems to have a very special connection to Snoop Dogg’s actions.

DEATH ROW TAKES SNOOP DOGGY DOGG OFF THE LEASH!
Oct 6, 2009 Snoop Dogg, Tracklist
On October 13, 2009, WIDEawake Entertainment Group will release Snoop
Dogg’s The Lost Sessions Volume 1, containing previously unreleased songs
during his 1992-1997 years with Death Row Records.
“We are seeing historic enthusiasm for the Death Row catalogue across all
types of our sales accounts and media outlets in North America,” commented
WIDEawake / Death Row CEO Lara Lavi. “We are grateful to fans and retailers
everywhere for the incredible launch of WIDEawake and look forward to
working with them in our upcoming release schedule.”
Iconic in stature and in essence, Cordozar Calvin Broadus, Jr. (or Snoop
Dogg) has carved out a permanent place in musical history. Undeniably, the
rapper, producer, actor, entrepreneur, coach, husband and father, has
performed the most unique balancing act that hip hop has ever witnessed.
Never short on vision, drive or ambition, the sharp talking wordsworth has
managed to redefine and reinvent himself over the course of his fifteen year
career, each time revealing a distinctive cache from the depths within. His
rhythmic cadences are classic in nature and his demeanor is as laid back and
effortless as the brand extensions he has created for himself. Signing with
Death Row in 1992 Snoop’s “Doggystyle” and The Doggfather” has sold over 7
million copies around the world, and still places on the American and
Canadian Hip Hop Album Chart to this day.
Lavi is equally enthusiastic over the new business model for the label,
which includes a stronger tie-in with fans and artists. “There is a lot to
celebrate. As we kick-off this release, we are also determined to raise the
bar for royalty statements and being honest in this industry with all
artists — past and future. Snoop has done so much for both Death Row
Records and the West Coast by spawning such artists as Tha Dogg Pound, Nate
Dogg, and The LBC Crew. We hope this serves him the justice he rightfully
deserves.”
“The Lost Sessions Volume 1″. contains classic unheard gems such as “Eat A
D*ck”, “Caught Up”, and “Fallin’ Asleep On Death Row”.
Other guests on “The Lost Sessions Volume 1″ include The Lady of Rage, Tha

Snoop Dogg Takes the Rap for Entourage
Jun 16, 2009 Rapper, Snoop Dogg
If you’re a pot smoking employee who is looking for someone else to take the blame, you might want to consider working for Snoop Dog. Last week, cops in Norfolk, Virginia were tipped off that a suspicious package has arrived in the mail from Canada to the Plaza Hotel where the rapper and his crew were staying. Sources say that the package was addressed to one of Snoop’s entourage and then they swooped in to arrest the guy for misdemeanor marijuana possession. Snoop then showed up in the lobby and said that the pot was for him after flashing his medical marijuana card. The guy who got arrested is still in custody and the case is still under investigation.

Snoop Dogg Gets Lien
Apr 28, 2009 Rapper, Snoop Dogg
Snoop Dogg is one of the biggest rappers of all time so you would think that it would mean that he’s making a lot of money. But no. Snoop actually finds himself in a deep hole when it comes to the state of California coming after him for his taxes. The state actually filed a tax lien on the rapper which shows that Snoop owes California a whopping $284,053.59. By my calculations, that should come up to around 190,000 joints, give or take a few. I wonder why he’s late in paying taxes. Maybe he was too stoned to remember having to pay them.

Genre bender: Snoop wants to work with Miley Cyrus and Jonas Brothers
Apr 22, 2009 Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, Snoop Dogg
Bad boy rapper Snoop Dogg is considering an unlikely new collaboration – with Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers.
It wouldn’t be the first unusual collaboration from the gangsta rap turned reality TV star.
Snoop just completed a track for an upcoming album of Johnny Cash covers, which even features country crooner Willie Nelson in the video.
Asked if he wanted to work with Disney teen stars Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers, Snoop said: “Hell, yeah. We’ll make some gangsta pop music!”
Snoop said he opened his eyes to the possibility of crossing genres after his experience working with country stars.
“Country musicians are just like us,” the star said.
“They smoke weed, get drunk, talk s–t, go to jail. But they just wear the little hats.”

Snoop Dogg’s Wife Dead
Apr 13, 2009 Snoop Dogg

Murder would be the case for Snoop Doggy Dog if this frightening incident report on the California Highway Patrol’s website is correct. The report says that the rapper “has the dead body of his wife in his basement.” On the afternoon of Thursday last week, while Snoop was getting high live on the internet, an anonymous tipper called the CHP to alert them of alleged heinous situation. However, the CHP found it to be so ridiculous that no one bothered to forward it to the LA County Sheriff’s Department. It’s either really funny or a whole lot of messed up.

Snoop Dogg’s open minded musical directions
Apr 10, 2009 Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus, Snoop Dogg

The famous rapper must have had some sort of twisted revelation lately because he has started experimenting with different styles of music. After producing and performing on a Johnny Cash remixed album, Snoop Dogg admitted he would even collaborate with Miley Cyrus or Jonas Brothers: Hell yeah. We can make some gangsta pop music.” Snoop Dogg also described his rap-country track on the Johnny Cash album: “Country musicians are just like us. They smoke weed, get drunk, talk shit, go to jail. But they just wear the little hats.” Too much weed, Dogg, way too much weed! Too much booze too… and Snoop Dogg probably doesn’t realize this, but it might get him in jail… and all he’ll need will be the little hat and the conversion will be complete!

Snoop Dogg Talks Islam
Mar 6, 2009 Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg spent last weekend attending the Nation of Islam’s annual Saviours Day convention, donating $1000 to the organization. The rapper sat behind Minister Louis Farrakhan and said “When you get a speech from Minister Farrakhan it’s about a mirror, it’s about looking at yourself. It’s about seeing yourself and what you can do to better the situation … We’re doing a lot of wrongs among ourselves that need correcting.” When asked if he was a member, Snoop replied “I’m already in the Nation, that’s why I’m here. I’m an advocate for peace. I’ve been in the peace movement ever since I’ve been making music. My whole thing is not about really trying to push my thing on you. It’s just about the way I live, and I live how I’m supposed to live as far as doing what’s right and representing what’s right. That’s why I was here today.”

Snoop Dogg shakes hands with MTV
Feb 12, 2009 MTV, Snoop Dogg

Just a couple of days ago Snoop Dogg made a sudden announcement that he has snapped ties with his record label Interscope Records and from that moment it was certain he had something big coming up or else he wouldn’t be foolish enough to go on without something substantial already in his bag.
The hip-hop artist has now signed a path breaking new deal with MTV which will see him launch a variety show and also release him next album. MTV has given him a multi-platform deal wherein Snoop Dogg will don the colours of being the face of an entertainment program titled Dogg After Dark. MTV will be responsible for his music career and will begin with distribution and promotions for his record Malice in Wonderland due for release at the end of 2009.
Certainly now there is no doubting this chap’s business acumen, he already has a reality TV show and now will have another one, he has moved with time and created his own opportunities albeit churning controversies to suit he requirements.

Snoop Dogg Wants the UK
Jan 23, 2009 Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg was banned from entering the UK for being arrested in the US so much and for getting into a little altercation with authorities in London’s Heathrow airport. The rapper is so desperate for permission to enter the UK on a visa that he’s been reaching out to A-list Brits to vouch for him. He said “I’ve called David Beckham, Sir Paul McCartney, hell, I want to get the whole of the Beatles to help me get back in.” He also said that for artistry’s sake, he needs to visit the capital saying “London was one of the first places I came to when I first made it. The people are so warm and friendly and I need to be there for my creativity.”

Death Row on Sale
Jan 9, 2009 Death Row, Snoop Dogg, Suge Knight, Tupac Shakur

Suge Knight must be pissed because several previously unreleased recordings by Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg and other Death Row artists will be going for sale at an auction for the rap label’s catalogue. However, people are saying that some potential bidders are worried about messing with the former boss. It turns out that Suge was forced to give up the catalogue in 2006 after he declared bankruptcy. One source says “it could be a tough sale. Some people don’t want to go near the catalogue because they think Suge still believes it’s his.” The recordings go up for auction on January 15th.

Snoop Goes Under
Nov 9, 2008 Rapper, Snoop Dogg

Australia has had a changed of heart. Last year, Snoop Dogg was set to co-host the MTV Australia Video Music Awards, however, the rapper was denied entry into the country due to his extensive criminal records. But things have changed as the rapper is actually in Australia. Luckily for him, the Aussies granted him a visa this past summer to enter their country at the end of October. Snoop was spotted arriving at the Emirates Melbourne Cup Carnival 2008 at the Flemington Race Course last week. Let’s hope he doesn’t get into any problems while he’s down under. He might get permanently banned if that happens.

Nate Dogg Suffers Stroke
Oct 6, 2008 Snoop Dogg

According to reports, Snoop Dogg’s cousin and fellow rapper Nate Dogg, suffered a stroke last month. It was his second in a year. The rapper’s manager said “He is back in the hospital. He did suffer from a second stroke. He is in stable condition. The prognosis at this time is favorable. We’re positive, prayerful, hopeful and patient.” Family insiders also revealed that Nate did not suffer any brain damage but he has little movement below the neck and requires the aid of an assisted-breathing tube. His recent mental condition has since forced a Compton judge to postpone a hearing in which Nate faces felony charges for threatening and stalking his estranged wife.
Snoop Dogg: Designer
Sep 8, 2008 Diddy, Fashion, Snoop Dogg

Rappers are slowly taking over the fashion world. Following the footsteps of successful rappers turned fashion designers like Diddy and Russell Simmons, Snoop Dogg is launching his own label called ‘Rick & Infamous’ which he’ll be promoting in everything he does. He’s even featuring the new line development in his reality TV show. He will also be promoting the line and brand on his CD packaging and products. Snoop will even host fashion shows during his upcoming world tour. It looks to me like someone’s up for some cheap publicity. The clothing line will be of street wear for men aged between 18-35 and will also feature accessories, grooming and home products.
