More updates are coming out about Rihanna’s condition after news broke that she and her boyfriend Chris Brown got into a violent fight early Sunday morning. Reports say that the 20-year old Barbadian babe’s injuries are more acute than previously speculated. As a result of whatever went down between her and Chris that Sunday, the singer suffered two huge contusions on both sides of her forehead, a bloody lip and bloody nose. One law enforcement officer compared Rihanna’s injuries to “an MMA figher or something… [It] looked like she was growing devil’s horns.” That is definitely not good news. Things are getting worse and worse about this.

Rihanna lent her support at the Black Eyed Peas Peapod Foundation benefit concert which was held inside the Conga Room at the Nokia Theatre LA Live this past Thursday in Los Angeles. Missing from the event was BEP member apl.de.ap, real name Allan Pineda Lindo, who was unfortunately mourning the death of his 21-year old brother, Joven Pineda Deala, who was gunned down in the northern Philippine town of Porac. On a happier note, BEP member Taboo, real name Jamie Gomez, and his fashion publicist girlfriend are expecting their first child this summer. Taboo also has a teenage son with a former girlfriend.

Rihanna showed off her rather funky but patriotic fingernails when she performed at the NFL Pepsi Smash Super Bowl Concert which was held at the Florida State Fairgrounds’ Ford Amphitheater last week. Her pinky had the image of President Barack Obama. In other Rihanna news, the 20-year old Barbadian babe and Timbaland are rumored to be throwing a Pre-Grammy party on February 6th in Los Angeles. Timbaland hosted a party last year with Fergie joining him in hosting. I bet a lot of people will be going to that party as there are reportedly a lot of parties being cut due to the economic situation.

Malaysian government gives nod to Rihanna concert

Despite strong resentment from the opposition parties in Malaysia the central government has gone ahead and given a concert to be staged by singer Rihanna the go ahead. The concert slated to be held on February 13th shall happen as per schedule.
This was confirmed by the Malaysian minister for art, culture and heritage Mr. Datuk Seri Mohd. that the concert will be held at the Putra Stadium in Bukit Jalil.
That really some news for the singer cos’ if I am correct then this show was supposed to be held late last year when she was on a world tour and she had successful shows in Australia and other south east Asian countries too were very receptive to her music but Malaysia opposed her holding a concert.
That because she refused to wear traditional clothes and the government thought it would be a bad influence on the young generation. And now in a few months her dresses would suddenly not be a bad influence. Completely double standards for the connivance of the government and event organizers.

Is it getting serious for Rihanna and Chris Brown? The couple was spotted last week getting their party on after one of Chris’ gigs. One spy witness said that Rihanna looked really happy back then. How could you not be happy with a new rock like that on your engagement/wedding finger? Ah! I can’t take this! They haven’t even come out about their relationship officially. I can’t wait for them to actually say that they’re engaged. Rihanna might already be pregnant before that actually happens. You can’t deny that they’ll make one very hot family though. I wonder if they are engaged.

Rihanna is finally yielding to the conservative Malaysian laws and covering up for her show there in February. According to their rules, female performers must be covered from shoulders to knees. Malaysian tour organizers are trying to avoid the protests and fines that plagued the tours of Gwen Stefani, Avril Lavigne and the Pussycat Dolls. Gwen made the sacrifice to cover up but the Pussycat Dolls wre fined $3000 for ignoring the laws. A district branch of the opposition Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party says that Rihanna is sexier and more dangerous than the three aforementioned performers. I wonder what changes are going to be made on the Barbadian babe’s wardrobe.

Rihanna is going to be ringing in the new year with a compilation of remixes from her double platinum album ‘Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded’. The album is set to drop in stores on January 27th and will contain 12 tracks, 2 of which are remixes of her very popular hit ‘Umbrella’. Like I said, the 20-year old Barbadian babe can probably never do any wrong. She’s really just milking it while everybody still wants the cow. But how many times can one song be remixed or covered anyway until we finally get tired? Oh well, I still can’t wait to hear it.

Rihanna has reportedly been asked by Nicole Richie to help her launch her solo music career. The reality star was previously part of a rock band called Darling back in 2004. Kelly Osbourne, the daughter of Black Sabbath Rocker Ozzy Osbourne, has also reportedly been asked to consult. According to a Daily News source “Rihanna and Kelly are coaching Nicole and giving her tips on how to perform.” If it is true, it may just be a hot product. Everything Rihanna touches is pretty much gold anyway and Kelly’s a pretty good performer too. Nicole has got some pretty amazing people vying for her.

Being a member of the paparazzi can be dangerous sometimes. In may, bodyguards working for Rihanna and Chris Brown supposedly beat up a Florida photographer named Luis Santana for snapping some pictures of the couple getting cozy outside of a Florida club before they officially came out. On Tuesday, the photographer filed a $1 million lawsuit against the couple, the bodyguards and the club, who Santana claimed had inadequate security. The photographer told the media “I couldn’t believe it was happening. I’ve done this many, many times before and never have I ever gotten close to being grabbed. There’s a dark side to celebrities and nightlife.”

Sure, she had a cameo on the direct to DVD film ‘Bring it On 3’ but she just played herself for about 5 minutes. With ‘Gossip Girl’ creator Josh Schwartz about to create a younger version with its newest ‘X-Men’ installment, MTV believes that the 20-year old Barbadian beauty could follow in Halle Berry’s footsteps and be the next Storm. Rihanna is definitely that far off from Halle in terms of beauty and sexiness. I’ll definitely catch the movie if Rihanna plays Storm.

According to Billboard, her album ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’ has produced 8 charted singles, with all of the singles doing amazingly well. That’s a huge thing considering some people are lucky to get two hit songs off an album. The last person to do Rihanna’s charting was Shania Twain when her album ‘Come on Over’ produced 8 hits from 1997-1999. Rihanna was able to crank out 8 in less time than Shania though as the Barbadian babe just took 1 year and 7 months. ‘Umbrella’ sat at #1 for 7 weeks in 2007. ‘Shut Up and Drive’ went to #15 the same year as well as ‘Hate That I Love You’ which went to #7. ‘Don’t Stop the Music’ went to #3 in 2008. ‘Take a Bow’ was #1 for a week. Her collaboration with Maroon 5 ‘If I Never See Your Face Again’ was at #51. Disturbia was #1 for 2 weeks and ‘Rehab’ is at #91 to date.

Rihanna Cancels on Indonesia

Extremists always ruin things for everyone else. Rihanna ended up canceling a concert in Jakarta, Indonesia last Friday over security concerns. The Barbadian babe heard a travel advisory warning people that there may be violence in the country after the recent executions of three Islamic militants convicted in the 2002 Bali bombings and decided not to move forwarded with the tour stop. The executed men had called on followers to carry out revenge attacks if their deaths went ahead. Indonesian show organizers said that they hoped that Rihanna would consider coming back to Jakarta in January. If the violence stops, maybe she can consider that.

Rihanna Passes Out

Rihanna almost passed out on stage during her concert last week at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia. The 20-year old Barbadian babe was performing her smash hit ‘Umbrella’, the last song of the concert. She had just come down from flying around on a harness. Chris Brown joined her on stage for the final performance of the night. Rihanna was then seen hunching over and signaling that she wasn’t feeling so good. The singer then rushed off the stage where paramedics rushed to her side. Chris continued to perform and then rushed back stage after he finished singing. The concert ended without any mention of what exactly happened though. Her rep told E! that “It was very hot at the venue, so after Rihanna’s set was over, she went off stage to sit down, catch her breath and have some water.”

Rihanna was spotted filming the music video for her latest single ‘Rehab’ with Justin Timberlake in Vasquez Rocks Park, outside of Los Angeles, recently. Justin and producer pal Timbaland wrote the song for the Barbadian babe and also contributed backing vocals in the bridge. In one sequence, Justin arrives on a motorcycle to meet with Rihanna at her trailer. He then takes a shower with pink water and proceeds to get up close and personal with the 20-year old bombshell on the hood of an oldies car. That sounds hot! Other scene include Justin serenading Rihanna outside her trailer, Justin playing a pinball machine and also laying on a giant rocket while playing guitar.

The international superstar that is Rihanna is gearing up to extend her reign as queen of the charts by releasing her fourth album in 2009. Though she says the album is going in a more techno rock direction, it will have a couple of eclectic tracks. One of the three that she is writing completely on her own is going to be more punk rock. Of course, it’s going to be process through a pop lens. Just think of ‘Disturbia’ and not ‘Hate That I Love You’. Overall, Rihanna wants her next album to be edgier than ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’. It is also being said that she is in the process of synthesizing a new hotter look for herself.

Rihanna performed ‘Disturbia’ at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards which were held at Paramount Pictures Studios in Los Angeles last weekend. English comedian Russell Brand hosted the event with Britney Spears opening up the show. Rihanna was one of the people who stood up to give Britney a standing ovation during the opening. If you remember last year’s VMAs, Rihanna was seen laughing at the recovering starlet over her disaster of a performance. Honestly, I think Rihanna got robbed out of some of the awards that Britney got. But maybe they gave it to her for all her efforts to get better. Plus, it’s a great way of rebuilding a relationship with Britney. Rihanna didn’t seem to mind anyway.
