Chris Brown was supposed to appear on Larry King Live to apologize yet again for physically abusing Barbadian singer Rihanna. I think it’s overkill. It’s not like he’s getting any more points for it. And again, I think it’s too little, too late. If he was really sorry, he would have apologized the second after he lifted his hands off of Rihanna. And apparently, the CNN host thought that it’s not relevant either, because the R&B singer’s appearance was cancelled. Chris’ reps were crossing their fingers that Larry will interview Chris because he has been known to not be so harsh during interviews as compared to others.

Rihanna sings her cares away in NY karaoke bar

Rihanna has come out on the other side of her troubled relationship to sing her cares away in a karaoke bar in Shanghai Square in New York.
The flawless star has emerged from Chris Brown’s court case and spent time stealing the show at a London film premiere before she popped up in New York at a karaoke bar with some of her friends.
An onlooker said: “She came with about six friends and joined about eight more friends who were already there. She didn’t want to be in a private room – she was in the main lounge with everyone else.”
They were not allowed to request any of her songs, however. “She requested Misery Business by Paramore and Bust Your Windows by Jazmine Sullivan. She also sang along with friends to Livin’ On A Prayer by Bon Jovi and Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood. Anytime anyone wanted to request a Rihanna song she said no!” the source said.
Rihanna sipped on Johnny Walker Black with ginger ale. “The group had many of their cocktails comped so the bill only came to about $500 and they left a generous tip. Rihanna looked beautiful.”

Reporter Wanted for Posting Videos of Rihanna Case

Legal documents were recently filed asking a judge to hold a reporter in the Chris Brown case in contempt of court. According to the documents, Russell Alan Wetanson runs a website that posted a video of interviews in the hallway outside the courtroom where the singer pled guilty to felony assault. Court rules prohibit that kind of taping. Wetanson, who also happens to be a lawyer, was notified by the public information officer of the court regarding the violation and the videos have since been removed from his website. However, a contempt hearing could now be set which makes it a possibility for Wetanson to be sent to jail. Why couldn’t they do that to Chris instead?

Rihanna becomes tattoo artist

The singer has recently taken up a new habit after visiting her usual tattoo parlor. It seems Rihanna was convinced by Bang Bang, her tattooist, to try her hand at his craft. The co-owner of the shop, Yadira, said: “We were all just hanging out, joking, laughing. Bang Bang decided that he wanted a tattoo from her.” Josh, another tattooist present at the event, added his own assessment of Rihanna’s skills: “I think it was spontaneous. And she was so nice, and so gorgeous and so charmed by her that we wanted one too. It’s a pretty nerve-wracking thing to do your first time. We were amazed how well she kept her cool. By the third one, she was good. I’d hire her. If her career doesn’t work out, she’s got a back-up.” Yes, and of course Rihanna’s lifestyle is probably going to suffer no changes if being a tattooist suddenly becomes her main source of income.
Drake Gets Signed

Rihanna’s rumored boyfriend, Drake, has just scored big time by getting a record deal with Young Money and Universal Republic. A lot of record labels were trying to sign him but he ended up going with Lil Wayne’s label for a cool $3 million. The rapper’s debut album ‘Thank Me Later’ is slated for a late 2009 release and features collaborations with Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Jay-Z. Drake will also be supporting Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy and Soulja Boy this summer on their Young Money Presents: America’s Most Wanted Music Festival tour. He’s shaping up to be one of the hottest commodities of the year.

Chris Brown Cops a Plea

Chris Brown is nothing but an epic coward as a plea bargain has been accepted in the assault case against the douche bag of a singer. The plea deal will require him to spend 180 days in a labor domestic violence program and get five years probation for felony assault. If he violates the probation in any way, he’ll get four years in prison. Rihanna appeared in court but did not have to testify as the plea deal was already made. The judge also asked her if she wanted to have a restraining order in place but she opted not to. Both the court and Rihanna are too lenient.

Rihanna’s presence needed at Chris Brown’s hearing

The singer has recently been subpoenaed to be present at her former boyfriend’s hearing which his lawyers recently failed to delay. Rihanna’s own lawyer, Donald Etra, said the following about her presence at the hearing: “Rihanna was served at my office by Los Angeles District Attorney investigators. If the preliminary hearing indeed goes forward, she is now legally required to be there, she will be there and will answer all questions truthfully.” It looks like Chris Brown is in for it from his former girlfriend. Still, why is there any necessity to assure everyone that Rihanna will answer the questions truthfully. Is there any doubt of that happening?

Rihanna attended the official Black Eyed Peas album release party on Wednesday which was hosted by Target at The Griffin in New York City. The Barbadian singer looked absolutely beautiful in comparison to Fergie. Speaking of BEP, their new album proved to be a disappointment. Their record label was expecting the record to sell upwards of 350,000 copies this week but industry insiders say that the album will only sell between 200,000 to 225,000 copies on its debut week. That sucks for them. They should have come up with better beats and a new sound if they really wanted to be a huge success.

Kanye West has finally released the official version of his music video ‘Paranoid’ which features Rihanna. It’s way more polished and less gratuitous than the incomplete version that was leaked last week. The rapper had been devastated that fans were able to see the video that wasn’t up to his standards. He wrote “It hurts me to see the old and very wrong version of the ‘Paranoid’ video get leaked all over the net while I was on an 11-hour flight and couldn’t do anything about it. It’s just frustrating when this stuff happens because I really care about the product and, since videos never get played anyway, you might as well tweak them and make them as special as possible.” And looking at the finished version, his standards are pretty high.

Irv Gotti of Murder Inc. has said that he is splitting ways with has-been singer Ashanti because “the relationship has run its course” and that the “chemistry” just isn’t there. In other words, the singer’s last album did not perform as well s her previous ones. June 2008’s ‘The Declaration’ was the only one of her studio albums to not go platinum. Sorry Ashanti but there are much hotter and original artists out there now than when you initially came into the scene. Her music just wasn’t that interesting anymore when singers like Rihanna and Lady Gaga were making waves last year.

Rihanna Gets Bling Back
Over a million dollars worth in borrowed jewellery which was held by the LAPD as evidence in the case against Chris Brown will finally be returned to Rihanna. The Barbadian babe’s attorney, Donald Etra, made a request last week for the immediate return of the precious bling that were worn by Rihanna on the night of the alleged attack. The jewellers that loaned Rihanna the jewels wanted the singer to fork over $1.4 million if the court failed to hand over the bling. Thankfully, a deal has been drawn up and prosecutors have agreed that photographs of the said jewellery would suffice as evidence in place of the actual stuff.

Progress Made in Chris Brown Assault Case

According to a source, there’s some progress being made in the plea deal that Chris Brown has made in the Rihanna assault case. Exactly what that progress is remains unknown though. Chris is up against two felony charges following the violent February incident involving his now ex-girlfriend. Bargaining resumed yesterday and both parties tried to settle on a date for the R&B singer’s preliminary hearing. According to the source, however, though progress has been made, a solution is not “imminent” and “barring a last minute breakthrough”, it is unlikely that a deal will be announced anytime soon. I guess we’re going to have to wait for that hearing.

Rihanna hit the recording studio last week to lay down some track for her upcoming album. On Saturday night, the Barbadian babe made a surprise appearance at NERD’s concert in Kansas City. She was seen getting into the groove and even dancing on stage. It actually makes me think that she might be working with the group for her upcoming album. That would definitely be hot. It looks like she has really moved on from the darker days of her life. The only thing that can only make that thought better is if Chris Brown gets sent to jail for a long time.

Sources claim that Chris Brown’s lawyers are in very heated negotiations and have almost secured a deal. However, Chris Brown is expected to plead not guilty in his next hearing. Does anybody every expect him to plead guilty? Especially after he had tried to spark rumors that Rihanna was actually the one who attacked him? Still, it looks like Chris Brown is going to get off easy this time. Commendations are in order for the judiciary system that offers him such opportunities. After all, we wouldn’t want society to have to do without his amazing musical genius for four long years.

Chris Brown withdraws from Nickelodeon Awards

Nickelodeon Award producers may have stood their ground despite the increasing pressure to boot out Chris Brown from the Awards but what can they do when the awardee himself withdraws his name from consideration? This is exactly what happened after Chris Brown withdrew his name from the list of nominees for the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards amid mounting criticism he has received for the physical altercation between him and Rihanna last February. Chris Brown has been nominated for Favorite Male Singer and Favorite Song in the said Award body.
While Chris Brown appreciates the unrelenting support from his fans despite the incident his representatives said the controversy involving Chris Brown and Rihanna has shifted the focus from his music to whether or not he should be allowed to be nominated. Chris Brown would have liked to speak personally to his fans about this but he could not pending the legal proceedings at this time. Chris Brown’s name has been removed from the Kids’ Choice Website effective Wednesday morning.

The singer thinks his fellow performer should show a bit of remorse about what he supposedly did to Rihanna after they had their argument in Chris Brown’s car. Usher had this to say after he saw pictures of Chris Brown on a jet ski in Miami, a short time after the incident: “I’m a little disappointed in this. After the other photo? C’mon, Chris. Have a little bit of remorse, man. The man is on a jet ski? Like, just relaxing in Miami?” Pretty bold of Usher to judge Chris Brown only from a few pictures… why does he expect remorse anyway? It was self defense! Chris Brown is the one who got attacked, or so they say. Did Usher miss this small detail?

T.I. and Terrence Howard Take Back Chris Brown Comments

After making comments seemingly in support of Chris Brown, rapper TI and actor Terrence Howard are taking back their statements. Both have admitted to speaking insensitively before knowing all the facts surrounding the domestic assault case on Chris Brown after he allegedly hit Rihanna. In his retraction, Terrence said “When they (paparazzi) asked me about Chris Brown the other day, I was in no way aware of what he had been accused of. Had I known, I would have never had said something so insensitive.” TI also said that his comments were out of line because he “made a mistake of commenting before understanding the situation.” Lesson: think before you speak.
