Rappers Method Man and Redman will be giving away free haircuts on Easter as a part of Staten Island barbershop Against Da’ Grain’s free kids cuts day. Neighborhood kids under the age of 12 will be able to have their hair done by the former members of the Wu-Tang Clan and Def Squad, free of charge to look their Sunday best on the holy day. While it sounds like it’s for a good thing, the gig sounds even worse than an American Idol reject grabbing whatever gig they can get. How could those two let go of their careers just like that?

General Larry Platt Lawsuit

General Larry Platt better get ready for war as he has been hit with a nasty lawsuit over the comedy song ‘Pants on the Ground’. A music company called American King Music claims that they funded the singer’s recent recording session with rapper/producer Mims for the official full-length version of the song. But in the suit, the company claims that Larry and his reps “failed to take care of Platt’s obligations” but didn’t specify what exactly those obligations are. American King is suing over the music distribution agreement and expenses related to producing, writing and recording of the song. Larry’s manager says that he never made a contract with American King though but the company thinks they’re entitled to 50% of the profits from the sale of the song on iTunes.

Rapper Ice-T could be struggling to keep his cool – his wife Coco has shown off her incredible curves naked in a tanning bed.
Curvy Coco posted a link to the sexy snap on her Twitter account after promising fans a special treat if she got up to 60,000 followers on the social networking site.
The blonde, who loves to show off her bumper backside, tweeted: “Here’s what u all been waiting for! A pic of me tanning since I hit 60,000.
“Don’t click this link if your not ready.”

I think Soulja Boy is starting to get full of himself. The rapper is in the middle of putting some tracks together for his next album called ‘The DeAndre Way’. He has been fortunate enough to be able to get the help of some big name artists like Jay-Z, Eminem and Kanye West. According to Soulja Boy, Kanye gave him some pretty big compliments, saying “When I was in the studio, I played him a couple of joints, and then he just said, ‘Damn, he’s really starting to go hard.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, you feel me?’ … Out of all the artists to get the go-ahead or the co-sign from, it was Kanye.” I don’t buy it.

TI Re-Appears

Rapper TI recently stepped out with his fiancé Tameka Cottle to support her Alzheimer’s research fundraiser ‘For the Love of Our Fathers’ at Atlanta’s Opera venue. The rapper joined his beautiful girl on stage at the end of the evening and said “I am very well, very happy to be seen”. TI is still serving out the rest of his sentence for gun possession in a halfway house in Georgia. His manager also revealed that the rapper is working on both a new album and a film that are both due out at the end of summer. His manager talked about the album saying “He’s sounding beautiful. His spirit is really good. He’s got the eye of the tiger. There’s no theme as of yet. The sound is definitely not a bunch of samples.” It sounds like TI is getting back on track.

Peaches is No Superstar
Electronic rapper Peaches had planned a very special concert where she would be performing the music of the musical ‘Jesus Christ: Superstar’ as a one woman show in Berlin. However, the German right holders to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s shows refused to give her permission to perform the music. Peaches went on her Twitter to talk about the project saying “[They] claim that this project is of no interest to them due to its unconventional form. It’s a shame that the authorities feel threatened by this fresh approach. I know a lot of people who really love the music and would appreciate this stripped-down solo performance. I have so much respect for the music and lyrics from the original score and this was my way of honouring that.”

MC Hammer Lawsuit

I wonder if Cash-4-Gold spokesman MC Hammer has extra cash lying around to pay off a lawsuit. The washed up rapper failed to follow through on a deal he had with the digital network communications firm PacketSwitch.com back in 2003, in which MC Hammer had agreed to “help market the company” with shares of the firm in return. PacketSwitch.com was reportedly awarded damages in 2003 but the rapper never paid up. MC Hammer claimed that the lawsuit was never delivered to him because the legal docs misspelled his last name. A US District Judge easily dismissed the claim and MC Hammer is finally being ordered to pay up.

Lloyd Banks Arrested

Rapper Lloyd Banks was arrested on suspicion of assault in Canada over the weekend for allegedly attacking club promoter Chris Hines. The rapper came late to his gig at Club NV and only performed one song before he walked off of the stage. Chris, who had booked the show, refused to pay Lloyd which prompted an unfair fight as the rapper was accompanied by his three man entourage who were also brought up on charges. Chris was admitted to a hospital for multiple contusions and head trauma. Can no one keep their hands to themselves anymore? Violence is an inexcusable act!

TI May Get Early Release
After beginning his 366-day sentence for pleading guilty to illegal firearms possession and possessing a gun as a convicted felon in May, rapper TI may end up getting an early release to a halfway house to finish his sentence as soon as January 2010. A spokesperson for the Bureau of Prisons explained “If his full-term release date is in March, it’s not uncommon for an individual to be released to a halfway house to serve out the last portion of their federal sentence. There are a number of factors that need to be considered: if the person is not a danger to the community, the current offense, the individual’s prior criminal history, the availability of programs and space availability.” TI’s plea deal also includes 1500 hours of community service, a $100,000 fine, a year on house arrest and 2 years probation.

If you’re getting tired of the boring voices on GPS tracking systems telling you where to go, well you can stop fretting as Snoop Dogg is coming to the rescue. The 38-year old rapper has lent his voice out to GPS company TomTom, providing two versions of voiceovers. One is said to be Rated G, without swearing and somewhat understandable, and the other has tons of swearing and is hardly understandable. Snoop talked about the random project saying “It’s really because when I be riding the car and I be hearing the boring ass lady that be doing all the time it bothering me. She’s always turning my music down and being like, ‘turn left, go right, straight ahead.’”

Fight at Jay-Z’s Club

Jay-Z is one of the owners of the 40/40 Club in Atlantic City and some serious craziness went down outside the club recently. A vicious fight broke out between the security team and two men at the club and it was all caught on tape! Tyrell Durant and Leonard Clark, the patrons involved in the fight, say that they were sprayed with a fire extinguisher in addition to being assaulted. Durant also claims that the security guards took his watch and money. The incident is still being investigated but with the video showing exactly what happened, there’s really not much else to investigate. I wonder what the rapper has to say about this one.

Iyaz has a new video out for his first infectious single ‘Replay’. The 22-year old singer and rapper not only has the release of the music video to celebrate but also the general success of the song which has been certified gold and has reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. Iyaz, who became close friends with chart topper Sean Kingston after the two connected on MySpace, said that the and the ‘Fire Burning’ singer work well together. He said “Sean is my ‘little’ big brother. When you put us in the studio together, it’s like magic.” ‘Replay’ should be proof enough of that.

It has been reported that the entertainer owes a total of $55,727 and that since June, a lien has been filed against him and his wife. Uncle Sam doesn’t mess around Antwan. It’s about time for you to stop being a boi and start being a man. You better pay up or there are worse things coming your way. What is up with all these celebrities not paying their taxes anyway? A bit of advice, shell out a little for a financial adviser or an accountant and this wouldn’t happen.
Lil Kim is a No Show

Lil Kim is allegedly one of the biggest flakes on the planet. It’s being said that the rapper bailed on 6 gigs after getting her $20,000 fee and then blamed it all on a nosebleed. Sources say that a company called Abstrakt Visions Entertainment paid her $20,000 up front to make 6 club appearances in London between November 7 to 14. Kim later said that she suffered a nosebleed in her hotel room the night before the first show then got a call from the rapper the next day saying that she’s heading back to the USA. Kim’s camp says that the nosebleed is true but the real reason she bailed was because the promoters had poor planning skills. They also say that the money will be used to cover travel expenses but she might want to invest in a lawyer as Abstrakt is planning to file a lawsuit.

Lil Wayne Pleads Guilty

Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to attempted weapon possession last week and is expected to be sentenced to a year in jail. The rapper admitted to having a .40 calibre semi-automatic loaded gun on board his tour bus back in 2007. Sentencing isn’t until February so he remains free on bail until then. However, he’ll be busy tending to his other run-ins with the law as he has a trial scheduled in Arizona for felony drug possession and weapon charges from an arrest back in January 2008 at the US Border Patrol. He pleaded not guilty for that one. Either way, he will be getting some jail time in.

The Game VS Lawyers
The Game is in a serious feud with the lawyers who saved him from doing five years of hard time. The legal team who represented the rapper in the wake of his 2007 arrest on gun charges claim that The Game never forked over $34,683.90 in bills for the work that they did. In the lawsuit which was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, the firm Kinsella Weitzman Iser Kump & Aldisert claims that they even got the rapper a successful outcome. Since The Game was facing a potential five year sentence in state prison and only ended up serving eight days, you’d think he got his money’s worth.

According to the National Enquirer, Queen Latifah and over a dozen of her friends were entertained by a less than shy female dancer at a two-story townhouse in New Jersey. In addition to the full nudity, the girls enjoyed a couple of drinks and other adult games. The source said “Queen Latifah is part of a regular group, and she was egging on the strippers to be as outrageous as they could be.” The source goes on to say that “there’s a lot of drinking at these gatherings…some of the ladies get so amorous that they pair off together.” Now that sounds more like an orgy to me. I wonder if the rapper had fun. By the looks of the picture that they put with the article, she certainly did.

Lil Mama Apologizes
Rapper Lil Mama recently apologized for some comments she made on ‘America’s Best Dance Crew’ after she went a little too far while grilling a transgender dancer. During the rant, she said “Leiomy, come on. Your behavior … it’s unacceptable … You were born a man and you are becoming a woman. If you’re going to become a woman, act like a lady … It gets too crazy and it gets confusing.” After taking some heat due to her comments, Lil Mama sent an apology to GLAAD, saying “My remarks were never meant to be disrespectful regarding Leiomy’s gender nor offensive to the LGBT community, which has been a community that has supported me in all my endeavors. However, in hindsight, I recognize that my words may have come across as hurtful. I spoke with her privately after the taping to express that it was not my intent to offend her or any member of the transgender community and that I still live for Vogue Evolution.”

Jay-Z’s Bodyguard Gets Charged

Jay-Z’s bodyguard was charged with a crime for last weekend’s tripod-tossing fight with a local TV reporter in Croatia. Law enforcement sources say that the rapper’s bodyguard has been charged with destroying personal property and assault, based on a complaint filed by the reporter who got into a scuffle with Jay and Beyonce’s entourage that night. Video of the incident actually surfaced on the internet showing the whole confrontation, including the part where the reporter throws his camera sticks at Jay-Z’s bodyguard and the bodyguard threw the tripod into the sea. Police are trying to track down the hired muscle for questioning regarding the incident.
