Noel Gallagher was addicted to fame
Mar 11, 2009 Noel Gallagher, Oasis

The guitarist from Oasis recently admitted that the band should have taken a break when they reached the peak of their success. Noel Gallagher relates: “From the defining moment, which was the lights coming on at Knebworth in 1996, at the end of that second show, to (original members) Bonehead and Guigsy leaving, during that period I was kind of just doing it for the sake of it. I didn’t know what else to do. What we should have done after Knebworth was let the whole thing settle and taken two years off. But with the drugs and all that, you get so addicted to the attention, you also become institutionalized to the band.” The drugs and all that? Noel Gallagher is being a bit direct, isn’t he? But then again, why shouldn’t he? He’s a free man now with unlimited credit. But still, is Noel Gallagher sure it is just fame he’s addicted to? His bank must be, though, otherwise they wouldn’t have given him so much credit.

Jay-Z and Beyonce Duet

Jay-Z and Beyonce could be teaming up for a duet this summer.
The married couple are rumored to appear on stage together at the O2 Wireless Festival in London, just one week after the rapper controversially headlines Glastonbury. A source said: “Jay-Z is planning a spectacle to end of spectacles. He knows all eyes will be on him when he headlines Glastonbury but he’s actually planning on whipping up something special for Wireless too. He’s been talking to Beyonce about getting her on stage.’
The hip-hop star, who teamed up with Beyonce for her worldwide smash hit ‘Crazy In Love’ and ’03 Bonnie and Clyde’, is also planning to fly in a huge string section and orchestra for the Hyde Park concert.
Since being announced as a Glastonbury headliner, Jay-Z has been criticized by rock royalty, including Oasis star Noel Gallagher, who insists a hip-hop act should not top the bill at the event.
Noel Gallagher puts it Bluntly
Feb 27, 2008 James Blunt, Noel Gallagher, Oasis, Records Sale, Rocker
Noel Gallagher is flogging his Ibiza villa to get away from pop irritant James Blunt.
The rocker has put the gaff up for sale for $10 million, because it is too close to Blunt’s. Lord Noel can’t relax in his holiday Oasis knowing Blunt is just a CD’s throw away. He is also worried about bumping into the annoying-voiced Blunt out and about on the sunshine island.
A pal revealed: “Noel has been going to Ibiza every summer for years. But he wants to find a new holiday destination. He’s fed up of hearing James Blunt bang on about Ibiza like he owns the place. It’s taken the charm out of it for him so he’s put his villa up for sale. It’s very close to Blunt’s place, and he says he can’t stand the thought of Blunt writing cr*p tunes up the road.”
Charming.
Noel stands to make a tidy profit on the sale. He bought the villa for $5million in 1999 from Tubular Bells creator Mike Oldfield. He even kept some of Oldfield’s specially made carpets, which had the Tubular Bells symbol woven into them.
