Sources are saying that while 50 Cent was filming his new music video for ‘Baby By Me’, the rapper was getting a little too friendly with former Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland. It’s being said that things got pretty steamy on the set of the video and that it may have led to a bit of a fling. I don’t think either of them could do better than the other anyway. At the very least, they haven’t stooped to anything lower. It shows that the entertainers still have some sort of dignity left in them – however little it may be.
Beyonce and Lady Gaga teamed up to shoot the video for Video phone together! According to an insider who spoke to Life & Style “On Oct. 7, Lady Gaga and Beyoncé were working on the video together at a studio in NYC. Everything on the set was being kept very hush-hush, and security was extremely tight.” I wonder how this managed to stay off the radar. The insider goes on to say that the singers and fashion icons showed off their individual styles for the video, saying “Beyonce wears a feathered dress. And of course Lady Gaga wears something wild. The fashion is sick and insane.”
DJ Seasunz, whose real name is Juan Carlos Portieles, was arrested for the murder of his 18-year old girlfriend, Jaclyn Torrealba. The girl was last seen at Club Space at 2AM on Sunday and there had been no sign of her since then. By Sunday night, the popular Miami DJ turned himself in to police where he led authorities to a gray Toyota Camry with the body of his girlfriend inside. Portieles has a troubled history with the law – he’s been arrested three times, one for assault and twice for drugs. Torrealba was 12 years his junior but it’s no surprise as he’s been known to playing to a younger crowd and promoting all-ages nights at several clubs.
Law enforcement sources directly connected with the death of DJ AM say that his death was the result of an accidental drug overdose and not a suicide. Sources say that the recovering addict developed a dependency to Xanax and other benzodiazepines as a direct result of the plane crash a year ago. It’s being said that AM developed a tremendous anxiety over flying. Doctors began prescribing Xanax and other anti-anxiety medications to relieve his fear but the benzodiazepines triggered a relapse into addiction. Sources continued on to say that DJ AM’s relapse was recent and that he was not abusing for a long period of time before his death.
Jay-Z’s bodyguard was charged with a crime for last weekend’s tripod-tossing fight with a local TV reporter in Croatia. Law enforcement sources say that the rapper’s bodyguard has been charged with destroying personal property and assault, based on a complaint filed by the reporter who got into a scuffle with Jay and Beyonce’s entourage that night. Video of the incident actually surfaced on the internet showing the whole confrontation, including the part where the reporter throws his camera sticks at Jay-Z’s bodyguard and the bodyguard threw the tripod into the sea. Police are trying to track down the hired muscle for questioning regarding the incident.
The elaborate ‘Dome Project’ was the last video ever shot by Jackson, whose career feature many of the most important videos in pop history.
Jackson had key scenes set in a cemetery to remind fans of his pioneering 1983 video for his hit Thriller.
But now the video – expected to be ready for screening next month – will instead have a spooky, emotional impact for fans as Jackson is scene in the cemetery.
Asked about the video, Jackson’s close friend Miko Brando said: “True.”
Asked when the video would be released, Miko – the son of late acting legend Marlon Brando – said: “That’s a good question. We’d love to see that. I would think soon, hopefully.”
The video was produced by Robb Wagner and filmed a Culver Studios, which 70 years ago was the set for the classic film Gone With the Wind.
The cemetery scenes are one of four sets in the video.
Besides the cemetery, one set featured an oversized portrait of Jackson in his Thriller werewolf costume, another was a jungle, and the fourth a construction site.
Beyonce Knowles recently released another black and white music video for her song ‘Broken-Hearted Girl’. The track was originally supposed to be the sixth single from her ‘I Am… Sasha Fierce’ album but it was replaced by ‘Sweet Dreams’ instead. The video will also be released on the DVD ‘Above and Beyonce: Dance Mixes’ which dropped in stores last week and sold exclusively at Wal-Mart. I wonder why they shelved this song instead when they already have a video for it. And how many songs is she planning to release from that album? It’s getting way too old. It’s not like she’s Rihanna who we can’t get tired off.
Celebrities including Kelly Rowland and Eddie Izzard have teamed up to fight against racism by performing at a recent festival.
The Love Music Hate Racism festival in Stoke City, UK, also saw singers Pete Doherty and Beverly Knight perform.
The singers were protesting against the BNP party and urging people not to vote for them in the upcoming elections.
Izzard introduced a film of the Hope Not Hate Bus’s 15-day tour covering 1,000 miles.
He said: “Just 65 years ago, our grandfathers and grandmothers fought a world war against fascism. Well, this is our generation’s fight against fascists.”
He added: “Tell everyone you know to vote against the racists in the European elections on June 4.”
Izzard was talking about the BNP party, who reportedly call Stoke the “jewel in the crown”.
US singer Kelly Rowland also said: “I had a great time playing at Stoke-on-Trent for the first time. It was a great opportunity to get across the message of tolerance and acceptance of all cultures through music.”
After three months of laying low, Chris Brown has finally come out to speak. In a video shot by Bow Wow at Shaquille O’Neal’s house, the R&B singer said “I just wanna say ‘what’s up?’ because I ain’t been out there in a minute. But the new album is gonna be coming soon. We working on it right now. It’s called ‘Graffiti’. It’s got everything on it, so y’all be ready for that… Everybody that’s haters, they just been haters. All my real fans, I love you all. I ain’t a monster.” I wonder what he was doing at Shaq’s house.

Flo Rida has a new music video out for his song ‘Sugar’. The song features R&B singer Wynter Gordon and is the third single from the rapper’s sophomore album ‘R.O.O.T.S.’ The song’s chorus samples from Eiffel 65’s dance pop song ‘Blue (Da Ba Dee)’. The video shows a female doctor putting Flo Rida to sleep, causing him to fantasize about a girl he likes. It’s obviously not the most interesting of video concepts but I have to admit that the song is still fire! Flo Rida’s the kind of rapper who you label as a joke or a one hit wonder at first but then suddenly grows on you even though you think he still has his stupid moments.
New Video from Rise Against for Hero of War now Premiering on Myspace!
The following is a message from the band:
We’ve just completed our new video for the song “Hero Of War” off of our record, Appeal To Reason. “Hero Of War” is the story of one soldier, not all soldiers, as he battles not just the war around him, but the war that rages within. Inspired by true events, we were given the choice to either document the tribulations of these times as they unfold around us, or ignore them. To ignore these problems, in our opinion, is letting down the brave men and women who risk everything. “Hero Of War” is our attempt to lift the stigma that surrounds everything from the skyrocketing suicide rate of troops, torture, internal sexual abuse, an under-funded VA, and the growing number of military personnel fighting Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as they return home. We hope this song and this video help the simmering dialogue about these problems evolve into a rolling boil.

“The notion that a radical is one who hates his country is naive and usually idiotic. He is, more likely, one who loves his country more than the rest of us, and is thus more disturbed than the rest of us when he sees it debauched. He is not a bad citizen turning to crime; he is a good citizen driven to despair.”- H.L. Mencken
The singer managed to utterly mess up her performance at the St. Lucia Jazz Festival on Friday. Amy Winehosue was apparently so drunk that she cut her set list short and didn’t even manage to finish her last song. Her fans of course were very disgruntled by the whole thing and she was booed off stage. One of Amy Winehouse’s fans related: “Amy could barely stand up, she didn’t know the words to her songs. It’s a disgrace. She was so drunk she didn’t know where she was. She’s a lost cause.” Would a record label actually even go for a contract with her anymore after this stunt? But, truth be told… where there is great scandal, there is also great attention and if her fans were… perseverant enough to attend this concert after what Amy Winehouse has done in the past, you can bet that they will be there the next time around also.
Kim Kardashian said she is “honoured” to be ridiculed – and “killed” – in the new Eminem video.
The reality star gets mocked by the rapper for her famous booty and then gets stuffed into a wood chipper in the satire.
But she wrote on her blog that she loves it, according to US Weekly magazine.
“I just saw Eminem’s new video for We Made You, and he totally spoofs me!” she wrote. “It was a total surprise to me because I had no idea he was going to talk about me in the song.”
She added: “I think the video is so funny! I am a huge Eminem fan and find it flattering he would rap about me.
“Personally, I’m honored.”
The new video, for a song off new album Relapse, also has parodies of Jessica Simpson and Sarah Palin, among others.
“There’s some celebrity bashing in it,” Eminem told MTV News. “I wanna say it’s not necessarily intentional bashing in it; it’s not necessarily taking deliberate shots at people…Yes, it is. What the f— am I talking about?”
NERD front man Pharrell Williams recently sat down with British Vogue and revealed that he’s using a revolutionary procedure to get rid of his tattoos. Apparently, the ink does go well with the grown up image he’d like to project. You can forget about painful laser procedures, he’s going to have replicated skin over his tattoos. He says “It’s basically like getting a skin graft, but you’re not taking skin from your ass or your legs. These guys actually grow the skin for you. First you have to give them a sample of your skin, which they then replicate. Once that’s been done, they sew it on – and it’s seamless. It’s going to be pricey, but worth it. I got fire on my arms! I’m a grown man!”
Ne-Yo has slammed RnB performers saying the genre has become “boring”. The Closer singer, real name Shaffer Chimere Smith claims today’s artists are too alike.
He told MTV: “RnB today is nowhere near where it used to be back in the day. Everyone’s on this copycat thing right now where all the music is beginning to sound alike and I don’t dig it.”
Ne-Yo also blames the use of the same producers making everyone sound the same.
He adds: “If you go to Timbaland for a song, then he is going to give you a Timbaland beat… No disrespect to Timbaland but if everyone eats at the same place then in a minute it’s going to get boring.”
The Icelandic star has been axed from Serbia’s EXIT festival after dedicating a song to Kosovo.
Bjork angered her Chinese fanbase following a spontaneous “Tibet! Tibet!” declaration during “Declare Independence” when playing in Shanghai. The outburst at the finale of Bjork’s Sunday-night concert has highlighted Beijing’s rule over Tibet.
Bjork’s statement was not reported in Chinese news media but the internet has been awash with angry comment after word leaked out.
Bjork commented: “I have been asked by many for a statement after dedicating my song “declare independence” to both Kosovo and Tibet(amongst others ) on different occasions. I would like to put importance on that I am not a politician, I am first and last a musician and as such I feel my duty to try to express the whole range of human emotions. The urge for declaring independence is just one of them but an important one that we all feel at some times in our lives. This song was written more with the personal in mind but the fact that it has translated to its broadest meaning, the struggle of a suppressed nation, gives me much pleasure. I would like to wish all individuals and nations good luck in their battle for independence. Justice !”
Bjork is the latest of a host of singers to play in China. Until a couple of years ago only the safest pop was allowed. Lately, more risqué acts have come to China but bands like The Rolling Stones have stuck closely to the agreed text to avoid offending their hosts.
Loopy Pete Doherty has reportedly shelled out over £1000 on an arsenal that includes a Samurai sword and antique guns.
Don’t panic; he is not expected to be planning a hold-up. The Babyshambles singer seems to be simply indulging his passion for anything old. He will probably hang the weapons up on the wall of his Wiltshire home; next to the tasteful “art” pieces done in his own blood.
Junkie Pete has become quite a home boy of late – even stopping halfway through the creation of another one of his “art” pieces to call the local radio station and request Beatles song ‘I’ll be back’
He told the DJ, “I am trying to do some painting and that.”
Let’s hope the “and that” doesn’t involve his usual pharmacy of drugs…
