Madonna is to sign the most lucrative contracts of her career – playing two gigs in Dubai for $25MILLION.

The Queen Of Pop is finalising negotiations on a deal to finish her forthcoming world tour in the oil-rich Arab state in November. By my calculations, if one of the gigs – for which she will get $15million – runs to 90 minutes she will pocket a staggering $170.000 a minute.

That’s a pretty impressive pay day by any standards.

And if that wasn’t enough, she is also in talks to perform at a private party for a mystery punter while she is out there which will earn her another $10million.

Sources claim: “Madonna is about to break another record by playing the most lucrative concert of her whole career – or anyone’s career for that matter. The negotiations for the tour to stop in Dubai in November are being finalised and she will get $15million for the one show only. The figure is so big because of her new contract with Live Nation and the huge funds available from private promoters in Dubai.”

Madge signed to the company for $120million last autumn. The source added: “She is also close to agreeing to play at a private party in Dubai, the first in her career.”

If Madge sticks to her confession in a recent interview, she won’t be settling for a bottle of champers and a bunch of flowers in her dressing room as payment. She said she wouldn’t perform at a private bash for less than$10million. All in all it looks like Madge is on a nice little earner.

The deal will have top music figures queuing up for a piece of the action. How long before Sir Elton John is doing a residency?

Madge’s new bosses at Live Nation are keen for this not to be a one-off and are already in the process of brokering similar deals with other massive bands.

Millions of Pounds on offer for just one gig – shouldn’t be too hard to get them signed up.

It’s been swirling around the rumor mill for a while now and it has finally been proven to be true. Rapper/entrepreneur Jay-Z is stepping down as president/CEO of Def Jam Records after 3 years with the label.

Jay-Z announced it on Christmas eve saying “It’s really about trying to invest in the future, trying to invest in maybe coming up with a new model. Because going in hard making records with artists and throwing those records into a system that’s flawed is not exciting for me. It’s not the music; people ingest music the same way. It’s just that the model of selling CDs has changed. So doing things the typical way is not in the best interests of anyone and not exciting for me. My whole thing is, how do we invest in the future? If everyone is committed to doing that, then I’m sure there’s a deal to be made.”

Pink released an album called ‘Missundazstood’ a couple of years back and now, it looks like there’s been a missundazstanding. A musician named Scratch has filed a lawsuit against the pop punk rocker for a featured performance on her hit CD.

In the lawsuit, Kyle ‘Scratch’ Jones claims that he is on Pink’s track ‘Respect’ but wasn’t paid for it. According to the suit, Scratch says he discussed payment with Pink but they never came to an agreement. He’s also claiming that his work was used on her DVD ‘Live in Europe’. He’s seeking $717,600 in damages.

A rep for Pink has released a statement regarding the matter saying “There’s nothing to say on this matter, as it is an unjustified lawsuit.”

It was a high-end yard sale for Ozzy Osbourne fans this weekend. They showed up in droves to place their bids on items such as a bat coat, skull sneakers, and many other items belonging to the famous Osbourne family.

The sale was run by Julien’s Auctions. Owner of the company, Darren Julien, told reporters that it was a mix of heavymetal fans and art lovers lining up to bid on the items. “For the most part, the metalheads were outbidding the art crowd.”

The items were sold from the Beverly Hills mansion that formerly belong to Ozzy and Sharon. For the most part, the items that were featured on MTV’s “The Osbournes” were in higher demand that other items. Among the items selling were a coat decorated with bats for $3300, sneakers with skulls on them for $2625, a pair of Ozzy’s sunglasses for $5250, and an oversided coffee mug that Ozzy often carried on the show for $1625.

Those who were interested in art looked for items such as a sculpture by Edouard Drouot, which sold for $10,500.

Julien predicted that the auction would bring in about $350,000. At the end of the sale, they made about $800,000. The family is donating the proceeds to the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

That’s one heck of a yard sale! I could sell the contents of my entire home and probably not make that kind of a bundle. Kudos to the Osbournes for donating the money to a worthy cause.

Not the same as the old King.Garth Brooks, who edged out Elvis Presley in 1999 for the title of best-selling solo artist of all time, only to lose it five years later, reclaimed the crown from the King Monday, according to the tab keepers at the Recording Industry Association of America. Ok, now I will admit that Garth Brooks has definitely made his mark in country music, and he’s won every kind of award there is…and once upon a time I drooled everytime I saw his face… but dethrone Elvis??? GET SERIOUS, PEOPLE!!! NO ONE, least of ALL Garth Brooks, could ever dethrone Elvis! I don’t care if he sold a million copies of cd’s every day for the rest of his life…he’ll NEVER come CLOSE to Elvis on ANY level. My advice to the writers of these kinds of articles… PLEASE choose your words more carefully!! Stats are for real but yet could be misleading. Garth could be great but certainly not the greatest and still not greater than that man called Elvis.

Jennifer Lopez is pissing off her record label because she is way too expensive to take care of and doesn’t really make any money for the label. “She costs too much money and doesn’t sell enough,” says a source. “Her last album cover alone cost $60,000 in hair and makeup, lighting, photographers, re-touching, etc. The video budget was in the neighborhood of $300,000.” Since she’s married with Anthony, her carrier is down, she sell all in Spanish, a flop with “como ama una mujer”, flops with Latinos film….. She can really thank P Diddy!!! She is and always has been a mediocre singer. I admire a husband that would encourage his successful wife to step out of her comfort zone and take on new challenges, weather she succeeds or not. She hasn’t changed with the times. The consumer wants an artist to evolve. Her “Brave” album would have done well in the late ’90s, but not anymore. Just doesn’t cut it.
