DJ Khaled teams up with the queen of hip hop and R&B Mary J Blige, and rappers Fabolous and Jadakiss in “It Ain’t Over Til It’s Over”. The song is the official third single from the DJ/record producer’s debut album “We The Best Forever”, which is in stores now. The album didn’t get a good start when the Lil Wayne-assisted first single “Welcome to My Hood” tanked on the charts. He managed to score a top 10 hit in the US with “I’m on One” featuring Drake. However, I just think that this third single is a bad choice to put out. The song is average and doesn’t really stand out for me. In any case, check out the video for it. If only the song is as easily likeable as the video.

Mary J Blige has selected the Nicki Minaj-assisted “Feel Inside” as the official lead single from her tenth studio album “My Life II, The Journey Continues”, which is set to be released later this year. The track, which was produced by Jerry Wonda who has worked with the likes of Beyonce, Alicia Keys and Justin Beiber, is a powerful R&B song with deep lyrics. Mary kills it with her vocals and Nicki’s raps are just mad. “Feel Inside” is a really cool single for the R&B singer but I don’t think this is at the same level of her previous first singles.

Mary J Blige recently premiered the music video for her Diddy and Lil Wayne-assisted single “Someone to Love Me”. The 70s inspired record will serve as the official lead single from the R&B singer’s upcoming 10th studio album “My Life II: The Journey Continues”, which is due out on September 20th. The song isn’t exactly new as it was on Diddy-Dirty Money’s album “Last Train to Paris”. For me, the song was meant for Mary to sing. Her voice just fits and it sounds natural. As for the video, it features Mary singing on a broken bridge, Diddy wandering through a corridor and Lil Wayne walking a futuristic set.

The singer has released a new music video for her song “Someone to Love me”. The song sounds like a combination of Soul and Hip-Hop and it also has two other featured names from the world of Hip-Hop: Diddy and the omnipresent superhero in all music videos, Lil’ Wayne. Mary J. Blige is the one that really gives the song it’s musicality. The music video is not too complicated, but the imagery and the succession seems pretty well chosen and it makes for a reasonably nice view so this one is definitely worth a few minutes of somebody’s time, especially if that somebody happens to be into Mary J. Blige.

Unlike most surprises however, this one actually turned out to be of the pleasant kind… even though it was so pleasant that it actually took Mary J. Blige to tears. The singer who recently celebrated her 40th birthday had the chance to sing with her idol, Anita Baker. And it was all Mary J. Blige’s husband’s doing. A source had this to relate of the festivities: “They brought in palm trees and sand. Mary J. said growing up in the projects she was lost, and owes her life to being inspired by the song ‘Caught Up in the Rapture’ by Anita Baker. Anita got up to toast her and started to sing the song. Mary J. began crying and joined in.” You don’t get to have a birthday like that too often… Mary J. Blige would do well to remember it.

Janet Jackson returned to the concert stage last week with a 30-song set during the opening night of the 2010 Essence Music Festival at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans. It’s been two years since the pop icon performed on a concert stage and if her performance at the festival was anything to go by, the hiatus definitely did her well and she made it well worth the wait. It’s definitely good to have her back! In addition to Janet, the festival lineup includes Gladys Knight, Mary J. Blige, Monica, Keri Hilson and Alicia Keys.

Mary J. Blige has been tapped to play soul queen Nina Simone in the upcoming movie ‘Nina’. According to Billboard, the film will star the 39-year old R&B singer in a story focusing on Nina’s relationship with her assistant Clifton Henderson, who will be played by David Oyelowo. The movie will start to shoot this fall. This isn’t Mary’s first foray into acting. She most recently had a supporting role in Tyler Perry’s ‘I Can Do Bad All By Myself’. I wonder how she will do in the biopic. I guess we’ll see when it gets released. There’s no word on when it will be out though.

Mary J. Blige was rumored to be getting a divorce from her husband, music industry executive Martin Kendu Issacs, but the R&B singer has denied the allegations. Her rep said that the split isn’t true and that the couple is very happy. Mary and her hubby even showed up together at the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute’s Gala earlier this week. The rumors of the split started flying after Mary reportedly smacked her hubby while they were out and about in New York City last December. I’m glad they’ve sorted things out. Mary’s always said how she wants to remove all the drama in her life. Going through a divorce would just ruin that. But then again, so would having a douche around.

Mary J Blige pissed off organizers at Miami’s Jazz in the Gardens event last Saturday as the R&B singer took the stage an hour and a half late, which made the show go over its allotted time slot. A source said “Her handlers kept saying that she would ‘go onstage when she was ready’. But it was almost midnight when she got on, which took the entire festival into overtime. While she sat in her limousine, her personal guards came into the press tent to clear out the area like they were the Secret Service. They first demanded that all print and online journalists be kicked out because Mary didn’t want to take questions. They were acting like she was Michelle Obama or Queen Elizabeth. When Mary finally emerged from her car, she walked into the tent for literally two minutes wearing dark shades – even though it was night time. She struck one pose and then walked off without bothering to say a single word. Her antics were extreme and unwarranted.”

Mary J. Blige has reportedly done two covers of Led Zeppelin songs for the international reissue of her album ‘Stronger with Each Tear’ which is due out on Monday. The singer recruited the likes of Travis Barker, Randy Jackson and guitarist Steve Vai to collaborate with her on ‘Stairway to Heaven’ and had so much fun that she decided to cover ‘Whole Lotta Love’ too. Mary said “I did Led Zeppelin’s ‘Stairway to Heaven’ and ‘Whole Lotta Love’ — it’s crazy! I am a Led Zeppelin fan. I’m not going to say I’ve been to their concerts, but I’ve listened to their music since I was a child, and it’s always moved me, especially ‘Stairway to Heaven’, and ‘Whole Lotta Love’ is just fun. I want y’all to hear it.”
