Jay-Z will be performing at the BRITs

Never a dull day in paradise, it seems. No matter how successful his career, Jay-Z seems to always be able to get an extra gig in there somewhere. Next up: the BRIT awards where Jay-Z will also be performing alongside Lady GaGa and many others. Of course the rapper isn’t just going there to sing simply because he likes to boggie… no, Jay-Z is going to the BRITs because he too is nominated for two awards. How come he doesn’t leave some for the little guys, too? What rapper can make a decent career for himself anymore if Jay-Z is over there hogging all of the glory?

Kid Cudi Kicked Off Tour

If you have tickets to Lady Gaga’s The Monster Ball, you no longer have to worry about Kid Cudi’s fists flying at you as the rapper has suddenly been given the boot from the tour. Interscope Records confirmed that the rapper is no longer with the tour. However, they wouldn’t say if his removal was over the video that showed him punching a fan in the face while performing in Vancouver. I’m willing to bet that it’s the real reason for the boot. The fan that Kid Cudi hit said that he wouldn’t be pressing charges but I think being dropped from Lady Gaga’s tour is a lot worse than a lawsuit.

Lady GaGa spoke about working with Beyonce

Among many other interesting details she shared with the rest of the world about her fabulous life as a star, Lady GaGa also said a few words about working with Beyonce. This is what she said: “When we were doing the video, I said I want to do you. I wanna do my version of Beyonce. I called myself GEYonce.” Well, apart from the fact that “GEYonce” would probably sound so utterly insulting, especially for Beyonce, that “I said I want to do you” really sounds dubious. Does Lady GaGa really want to? Jay-Z probably wouldn’t mind… there’s a good formula for a new “3” video clip right there.

Lady Gaga and Beyonce Team Up

Beyonce and Lady Gaga teamed up to shoot the video for Video phone together! According to an insider who spoke to Life & Style “On Oct. 7, Lady Gaga and Beyoncé were working on the video together at a studio in NYC. Everything on the set was being kept very hush-hush, and security was extremely tight.” I wonder how this managed to stay off the radar. The insider goes on to say that the singers and fashion icons showed off their individual styles for the video, saying “Beyonce wears a feathered dress. And of course Lady Gaga wears something wild. The fashion is sick and insane.”

Lady Gaga Scores Another Hit

Lady Gaga just earned herself another Top 20 song on the Billboard Hot 100 last week. The singer’s latest single ‘Paparazzi’ just jumped 26 spots to the number 18 spot and made the song her fourth US Top 20 hit. Congratulations to her! I can’t believe she’s already achieved that goal so early in her career. You can bet that she’s going to have even more up her sleeve down the road. I also bet that the sudden jump came from the mass hysteria after her 2009 MTV VMA performance. Let me be honest with you, I am still slightly disturbed by it.

Kanye West and Lady Gaga on Tour

I am thrilled to announced that Kanye West his hitting the road this fall with Lady Gaga. You better buy your tickets the second they go up for sale because I believe that this will be the hottest tickets in the fall. The duo will be playing to audiences all over North America. And if you’re wondering if the ‘Poker Face’ singer is going to open for the rapper, no she isn’t. In fact, it’s not even going to be a co-headlining tour. The two incredible artists are going to be performing together as part of one long set. I can’t believe Kanye’s big ego actually agreed to that.

Ashanti Gets Dropped

Irv Gotti of Murder Inc. has said that he is splitting ways with has-been singer Ashanti because “the relationship has run its course” and that the “chemistry” just isn’t there. In other words, the singer’s last album did not perform as well s her previous ones. June 2008’s ‘The Declaration’ was the only one of her studio albums to not go platinum. Sorry Ashanti but there are much hotter and original artists out there now than when you initially came into the scene. Her music just wasn’t that interesting anymore when singers like Rihanna and Lady Gaga were making waves last year.
