Kelly Rowland had a great week. The singer filmed last week no less than three videos: “Lay It On Me”, “Down for Whatever” and “Boo Thang”.
The filming marathon began for Kelly with the video for the song “Lay It On Me”, a special collaboration with Kanye West’s protégé, Big Sean. Shootings took place on September 7th and the video was directed by Frank Gatson and Sarah Chatfield.
The song, one with a very sexy and provocative sound received from the producers some shots at least as exciting and “naughty”. But it was no problem for Kelly and her golden bath suit, who has done great on set.
On September 8th they filmed the video for the song “Down for Whatever” extracted from the same album as “Lay It On Me”, namely “Here I Am”.
The third clip will be the one with Simmon, for the single “Boo Thang”.

Kelly Rowland gave the first TV performance of her smash hit “Motivation” since the release of her new album “Here I Am”. Overall, it’s the R&B/dance singer’s second performance of the track after the 2011 BET Awards. “Motivation” is still doing pretty well in the US, recently cracking the Top 20 of Billboard’s Hot 100, beating Beyonce’s “Best Thing I Never Had” by 2 spots. As for Kelly’s performance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, she was absolutely amazing. The performance was solid, she sounded flawless and absolutely owned the stage. Kelly even did a little bit of choreography and just overall killed it.

It seems that the UK’s X Factor has found its newest judge and it is indeed Kelly Rowland. A post on the show’s official twitter page reads as follows: “@TheXFactor (UK) judges will be: Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos, Kelly Rowland & Louis Walsh #itvpresscentre” So it would appear that Cheryl Cole’s chances of getting back to her old job are no longer available… for the moment at least. Hopefully Kelly Rowland’s fate in the UK will prove to be better than that of Cheryl Cole of the US. She probably won’t have too much trouble with that since the Earl of Exigency is now wreaking havoc in the US.

Kelly Rowland is embracing her dance house music side and I can’t help but say that I like her better with this style. The R&B singer has recently teamed up with Danish DJ Rune RK for his new single “Free Fall” and it is hot. It may be a little more mellow to what she’s accustomed to doing but it’s still pretty good. the song is a nice techno-house production with mesmerizing vocals from Kelly. I think the song could have been improved by a bit of some soaring diva vocals from her. It could have made the difference from being good to great.
DJ Rune RK featuring Kelly Rowland – Free Fall – New Song

Kelly Rowland is bringing some heat with a new track called “I’m That Chick”. The R&B singer goes full urban on this Tricky Stewart-produced track but I’m not sure if all that auto tune was really needed. In any case, I would for this song to be Kelly’s new single in the US. It’s pretty obvious that the dance songs she does fits better for the international markets while her R&B and urban efforts go in line with her US fan base. I like the new tune. The lyrics are quite something but the energy is hot. Keep a look out for this as the song is set to be part of Kelly’s upcoming third album.

Kelly Rowland is once again embracing dance music in the new club-ready song called “What a Feeling”. It’s not actually the R&B singer’s song but rather she’s featured on DJ Alex Gaudino’s new single. If you ask me, it’s a smart move to ask Kelly to be the featured lead singer. I think the song has the potential to be 2011’s official summer anthem. There’s something about Kelly’s voice on these kinds of songs. The emotion behind them is so clear. You can’t help but get into them even if you aren’t a big fan of hers. What do you think?
DJ Alex Gaudino featuring Kelly Rowland – What a Feeling – New Song

Kelly Rowland recently premiered her brand new lead single from her upcoming third studio album. The new track is called “Motivation” and features rapper Lil Wayne. Shockingly enough, it’s not an up tempo cut. Kelly delivers some sexy vocals throughout the synth-laced ballad. The song’s lyrics along with the R&B singer’s vocals are hot but I don’t think the song will go anywhere on the charts. I think Kelly should have stuck to her dance pop sound. “Motivation” is good but it’s not radio friendly. For a lead single, this one is bound to be a flop. Here’s to hoping she releases another single quickly.

Much like Pink, Tinie Tempah also recently released a teaser for the music video for his song “Wonderwoman”. The rapper’s duet with Ellie Goulding will serve as his fifth single from his debut album “Disc-overy”. Just two weeks ago, Tinie released his fourth single called “Invincible” which features Kelly Rowland. It obviously flopped by his singles success, seeing as it was his first single to not chart within the top 5 in the UK,hence the very quick follow up. As for “Wonderwoman”, if there’s a song on his album that could bring him back in the top 5, this would be it. the song screams hit and if the trailer for his music video is anything to go by, it’s going to be awesome as well.

Kelly Rowland’s new song video for “Rose Colored Glassess” just premiered today. The Dr Luke-produced Rose Colored Glasses as the latest single from Kelly’s upcoming third album which according to Kelly Rowland new record will be out in 2011.
