Fergie at ASCAP Pop Awards

fergie.jpg

Stacy Ferguson, more famously known as Fergie, attends the ASCAP’s 25th Annual Pop Music Awards at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood on Wednesday. The singer’s hit ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’ ended up in a tie with Gwen Stefani’s ‘The Sweet Escape’ for song of the year. Of that honor, Fergie said “To get any honor in that room is something very special. Songwriting is an expression of your soul, so to be honored as a writer feels like an approval of your soul.” Aww, how humble of her. Congratulations go out to both Fergie and Gwen for getting the honor.

Amy Winehouse is Queen

Amy Winehouse is Queen

After the success of her album, a lot of people have predicted that Amy Winehouse would be the queen of the Grammy’s. And when the nominations were announced on Thursday morning, that’s what the rest of the world thought too. Wino scored the most nominations for a female with 6 nods. It’s good to know that despite all the trouble in her life, something good can still happen to Wino.Kanye West actually came out with the most nods, with 8. Five acts received 5 nods each – the Foo Fighters, Jay-Z, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake and T-Pain. In a bit of an upset, favorites like Fergie and Mika only scored a nomination each.

Rihanna tops chart for ninth week

R&B star Rihanna has topped the UK charts for a ninth week with her single Umbrella, matching a record for the longest run at number one this decade. The Barbados singer held off Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie, who’s Big Girls Don’t Cry went up six to number two. Rihanna has equaled the run of Gnarls Barkley with the song Crazy last year.
The all-time record for consecutive weeks at the top of the singles chart is held by Bryan Adams with Everything I Do, which achieved 16 weeks in 1991. Records apart the success should be celebrated and she should aim higher with her next single whenever she plans to release one. Being from the land of Bob Marley, music is the way of life in the Caribbean whether it’s a cricket match or while partying they just love their music.

Fergie Played To An Audience Of Six

fergie.jpg

Pop star Fergie was left red-faced after performing to an audience of only six at a village fair with 1990s girl group Wild Orchid. The singer - who has since performed at the world’s biggest arenas with pop group Black Eyed Peas - was left in tears by the terrible reaction her old band received. Did they interview the pigs to see if they liked the show? Pigs are quite musically inclined. And can do a pretty good piggy four step circle mud stomp. There should been at least a few hundred pigs out side listening to the group singing. If she just looked outside then she could well have found some solace by seeing those pigs that were present. But she should also be a happier person today, form the fact that there are now a few thousand people where ever she performs and this should really wash out that bad memory.

Fergie On Both Ends of the MTV Top 20

fergie.jpg
This week on MTV Top 20. Fergie is topping the MTV Top 20 and also wrapping up the top 20 spot. She is currently floating on the number one spot with “Glamorous”, and she is also on the number twenty spot on the list with her “Fergilicious”. She is definitely in control of her crowd. But lets see if she can still hold on to her spot as Avril Lavigne’s “Girlfriend” is slowly climbing up. The skater girl is putting up a nice fight for the spot. But will her topless act on the Blender magazine enough to take the number one spot? We’ll still have to see. If you happen to notice Beyonce appears on the MTV Top 20 list 3 times. But will that also be enough to take the glamour out of Fergie? Maybe she’s just fergilicious.
