Big Boi, component of the band Outkast, was taken into police custody in Miami after pills of Ecstasy, MDMA and Viagra were found on him.
On Sunday, August 7th, the rapper Big Boi – on his real name Antwan Patton – was indicted for possession of drugs, says TMZ.com, at the moment of leaving from a cruise ship.
The American artist was arrested at 1:35 pm local time and, after paying a bail of $ 16,000 worth, he was released in the afternoon. Later, Big Boi’s lawyer, Daniel Kane, told CNN that the rapper was traveling with some friends when he was arrested.
“A small amount of smuggled goods was found in their luggage,” said the lawyer, adding that he trusts that Big Boi will be completely exonerated. Not long ago, Big Boi said that he is working on a solo material with Modest Mouse.
His debut album was released under the pseudonym of Sir Lucious Left Foot, last year. Regarding the band projects of which the rapper is part of, it seems that a new Outkast album would be released in spring 2012.

Lil Boosie is already in prison but even then he still can’t stay out of trouble. The rapper may have to stay in jail for a while longer after he was “busted attempting to smuggle drugs into his prison cell” – for the second time in two months. His legal woes have gotten worse after he was indicted for conspiring to get hold of codeine syrup at the Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola. Lil Boosie has been charged with one count of criminal conspiracy to take contraband to and from a penal institution, and another of inciting a felony. He is also due to stand trial next month after pleading not guilty to a first-degree murder charge related to a 2009 shooting in Louisiana. He’s locked up right now due to gun and drug charges on a 4-year sentence. Get your act together Lil Boosie!

The rapper DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was supposed to be paroled from jail on Wednesday but his stay was prolonged because he violated several rules. These violations include drug possession, disturbing peace and assaulting guards. Fans of the rapper DMX were looking forward to his release from prison but it was postponed. DMX was supposed to be released out on Wednesday, seven months after being convicted for violating the terms of a previous probation. But DMX is likely to remain behind bars for another week or more because of seven disciplinary infractions he committed. Representatives of the prison refused to specify what kind of drugs were found on him.

Unfortunately after all of the hard partying the rapper seems to like to do, he also wants to drive home… which is not really a good choice. This is what happened when Flo Rida made another one of these fantastic decisions: “Flo Rida was driving around in his red and black Bugatti — valued around $1.7 million — when cops observed the rapper swerving in his lane and pulled him over around 3:30 AM. During the stop, cops detected the odor of alcohol — so Flo was given a field sobriety test and didn’t perform very well. Sources tell us Flo’s blood alcohol level was more than double the legal limit.” Well, jail time is probably not something Flo Rida should be too adverse to… after all, he was driving drunk with a suspended license.

Maybe this is the reason why Enrique Iglesias decided to back-out after all. It seems that given Britney Spears’ unpleasant history during her upcoming summer tour there will be a ban on alcohol and drugs to all those involved in the tour… including her touring partner, Nicki Minaj. A bunch of cops raided rapper Waka Flocka Flame’s Georgia home last Wednesday on suspicion of prostitution and ended up in the arrest of fellow rapper Gucci Mane. Cops are also said to have been looking for evidence of gangs and drugs and came out with marijuana and several weapons. Sources have obtained a copy of the search warrant issued on Waka and some of the stuff they found is pretty incriminating. Investigators found “marijuana, articles, pictures, and communications relating to gangs and gang paraphernalia” along with 2 guns and loads of prescription pills. Gucci has since been released but Waka is still MIA.

Platinum rapper and alleged airport gun smuggler Petey Pablo has turned himself in to federal authorities in North Carolina. A federal judge recently issued a warrant for Petey for that whole “bringing a gun to an airport on 9/11” thing. Sources close to the rapper say that he wasn’t aware of the warrant until his reps were contacted for a comment but he immediately made plans to cooperate with authorities upon learning about his situation. He was in custody for a few hours before being released on his own recognizance. According to the terms of his release, Petey must report to a US probation officer and submit a complete itinerary of any travel plans one month before going anywhere. He has also agreed to refrain from excessive alcohol use and submit to drug testing. The rapper is due back in court in November where he opted to use a public defender, citing inability to pay for a lawyer himself.

Kid Cudi recently spilled his guts to Complex magazine but I have to say that the guy is one unimpressive idiot. The rapper talked about people in the music industry saying “Everybody think they Hov. Niggas ain’t got the magic like they think they do; there’s only a couple of wizards in this game. I’m a wizard and I know it.” Oh please, I can’t even remember any song that he’s put out. Kid Cudi also talked about his cocaine usage saying “I never thought it was a problem, but I was definitely high-fiving death a couple of times.” Yes, because when it comes to drugs, it’s only a problem when you die. What an idiot!

Tensions between Wyclef Jean and Sean Penn aren’t going to die down anytime soon. After being criticized by the actor during his bid in the Haiti presidential race which he has been disqualified from, the hip hop singer lashed out during a concert last week. He said “I got a message for Sean Penn: Maybe he ain’t see me in Haiti because he was too busy sniffing cocaine.” How lame is he to stoop so low just because he got kicked out of an election in which he never should have been running for in the first place? Sean was just stating his opinion which also happens to be a fact. Grow up!
