On September 11th, Drake released on his blog two new songs: “Free Spirit” and “Club Paradise”. They will not be included on the album “Take care”.
The rapper put on his blog two free songs for his fans. “Free spirit” is a collaboration with Rick Ross and “Club Paradise” is named after a club in Toronto and produced by Noah “40″ Shebib.
“Release this song for my man Avery… it was his favorite song at the recordings,” said Drake.
“I like to be a free spirit. Some don’t like that, but that’s the way I am.” Drake said citing Princess Diana.
About the album “Take that”, Drake said: “I lean over as many points as I can when writing a song. I write a part and where many would stop, I keep going, thus seeking to make the song flow. So I like to always put myself to the test and get the best out of me.”

Drake took to his Twitter account this past weekend to announce that he was releasing some free music for his fans that day. The Canadian singer/rapper dropped three new tracks called “Club Paradise”, which was produced by Noah “40” Shebib; “Free Spirit”, which features Rick Ross; and “Round of Applause”, a remix to a Waka Flocka original. Personally, “Club Paradise” is my favorite. Word has it that none of these tracks will be on Drake’s upcoming album “Take Care”, due out on October 24th. After seeing Lil Wayne and Drake perform together at the BET Awards, I’m pretty excited after learning of this bit of news. Following the footsteps of Jay-Z and Kanye West, rappers Lil Wayne and Drake have decided to team up for their own collaborative album. Birdman spoke about the project, saying “That’s definitely going to get done. It’s older versus younger. I listened to a few songs [off Watch the Throne], and it feels like an older feel to me. I think with Drake and Wayne, they young, they young cats. You got 23 and 28. Then you got Jay-Z and them, who are older and really on their way out the game. Then you got Wayne and Drake and them, who are still youthful to the game. So it’s two different types of music all the way across the board. But what they’re doing is great… I just think when Wayne and Drake get together, [it's] going to be something real special also because we more youthful. [This] will probably be one of the most exciting things in my life, because we make music on a different level.”

Drake was forced to cancel his Florida concert this past weekend due his uncle passing away. According to a statement from the singer/rapper’s rep, “We regret to announce that Drake will not be able to take the stage at Universal Orlando Resort due to a death in the family. He hopes that his fans understand the situation he finds himself in and know that he fully intends to return to the area in the future. He thanks Universal Orlando Resort and his fans for their continued support.” Don’t worry about the cancelled show Drake, I’m sure your fans understand why you had to jet.

DJ Khaled recently unveiled the official music video for his single “I’m on One”. The track, which features Drake, Rick Ross and Lil Wayne serves as the lead single from hip hop artist’s upcoming fifth studio album “We the Best Forever”, which will hit stores on July 19th. As for the video, it was directed by Gil Green and was filmed over Memorial Day Weekend in Miami. The clip sees each rapper perform their verses in their own scenes and some pretty Miami skylines and women. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who wished that Rick would have his shirt buttoned up. What was that even about?

After their hot duet on “What’s My Name”, I had an inkling that Rihanna and Drake wouldn’t be done for good. Star Magazine is reporting that the R&B singer and the rapper were spotted hanging out together in Montreal earlier in the month and that they were getting pretty cozy. A source said “They came to the club at about 1 AM after her concert, and she got visibly drunk….they were dancing and grinding on each other.” The two later headed off to the Mondrian Hotel together. If at first you don’t succeed, try again. Rihanna and Drake made a hot couple back then, and I think they can make a hot couple now.

Drake has released the first offering from his upcoming studio album “Take Care”. The track, which was produced by Noah “40” Shebib, is called “Dreams Money Can Buy”. It was posted on the rapper’s personal blog over the weekend for free download. Drake wrote on his online journal “This is a song that I felt the need to share. Not my single.” So the song can just be a track on the album but it could very well indicate how the music on his upcoming album is going to sound. What do you think about it? Nicki Minaj has parted ways with managers Diddy and James Cruz but there are said to be no hard feelings between the three. The female rapper will now be managed by Gee Roberson and Kyambo Joshua, whose company Hip Hop Since 1978 also manages the likes of Lil Wayne, Drake and Young Jeezy. There aren’t any specific details on why Nicki chose to part ways with Diddy but it’s being said that he wasn’t as hands on with her career as she would have wanted. But at least she’s made a smooth transition. I doubt Nicki needs another feud. And her current managers seem to know what they’re doing if I can base it on whose careers they’re managing.

The record was produced by T-Minus and 40. I like the beats and melody that DJ Khaled provided and it seems like you can’t really go wrong with having Lil Wayne as a featured artist these days.
