High waist jeans for Alicia Keys keys at performance night!

Alicia Keys wore high-waist jeans with suspenders for her performance yesterday in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. For the sake of being recognized as being fashionable and looking different these guys wearing anything and for me she is looking absurd.
A pair of jeans is always the coolest thing that one can use to dress up and low waist jeans is something that everyone used to showoff one’s waist line below the naval. Highwaisted jeans are for old ladies.
Never was a fan of high-waist jeans – no matter how attractive you are. And I’m sure there are hundreds if not thousands who think that she looks sloppy and really like grandma. Who ever is her stylist and especially the person who takes care of her wardrobe must immediately get himself/herself updated on the current fashion scenario.
Maybe Alicia needs to send that person to New York, Paris, London and Milan so that he can get acquainted with things like fashion sensibilities.

Rihanna Cancels on Indonesia

Extremists always ruin things for everyone else. Rihanna ended up canceling a concert in Jakarta, Indonesia last Friday over security concerns. The Barbadian babe heard a travel advisory warning people that there may be violence in the country after the recent executions of three Islamic militants convicted in the 2002 Bali bombings and decided not to move forwarded with the tour stop. The executed men had called on followers to carry out revenge attacks if their deaths went ahead. Indonesian show organizers said that they hoped that Rihanna would consider coming back to Jakarta in January. If the violence stops, maybe she can consider that.

Rihanna Passes Out

Rihanna almost passed out on stage during her concert last week at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia. The 20-year old Barbadian babe was performing her smash hit ‘Umbrella’, the last song of the concert. She had just come down from flying around on a harness. Chris Brown joined her on stage for the final performance of the night. Rihanna was then seen hunching over and signaling that she wasn’t feeling so good. The singer then rushed off the stage where paramedics rushed to her side. Chris continued to perform and then rushed back stage after he finished singing. The concert ended without any mention of what exactly happened though. Her rep told E! that “It was very hot at the venue, so after Rihanna’s set was over, she went off stage to sit down, catch her breath and have some water.”
Rihanna Rocks Justin Timberlake Concert

Rihanna performed at the ‘Justin Timberlake and Friends Concert’ which was held at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas last week. The event benefited the Shriners Hospitals. The 20-year old Barbadian babe performed at the charity event alongside the Jonas Brothers, will.i.am, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, 50 Cent, Boyz II Men, JT’s first label signee Esmee Denters and Leona Lewis. With all those hot names involved in the cause, I’m pretty sure the Shriners Hospitals got one heck of a benefit check. Let’s hope all the good doesn’t stop at just that benefit concert though. Those kids and the hospitals need all the help they can get.

The next time any of you start saying a little prayer, would you mind saying one for Jay-Z too? The times have really gotten hard over in London and the rap mogul can’t find any clubs that are willing to pay his host fee of $45,000. The London Paper says that Jay has already lowered his fee to $15,000 but there are still no takers. It really is a hard knock life. And yet they still pay for Amy Winehouse to appear for them even though it’s pretty much a lost cause. If they had saved whatever they paid her then maybe Jay would have gotten some gigs.

A wild fight broke out at a Three 6 Mafia concert last week in West Hollywood. Two people were arrested and a woman was wheeled out on a gurney. The fight reportedly broke out after the rappers finished their set at the House of Blues. The LA County Sheriffs deputies swarmed the joint and made sure that every corner was covered. The woman who was wheeled out wasn’t part of the fight but she broke her leg after being trampled after the commotion caused mass hysteria. This is where all those fire drills came in with the whole proceed calmly to the exits thing.
Sean Paul Gets Busted

Singer Sean Paul has been arrested on drug charges at a reggae concert in Sweden last week. Swedish cops say that the singer was brought from the huge Uppsala Reggae Festival to a local police station on suspicion of possessing narcotics. It’s being said that 200-300 people were also brought in from the fest on drug related charges. In addition to concertgoers, police say 10 artists performing at the show were also hauled in for questioning. Cops say that they have sent all evidence to a lab for testing and will have results in a month. I can’t wait to find out just who got high.
Kanye Gets Heat

Kanye West got some fans pretty frustrated after the rapper showed up two hours late for a gig. The rapper was supposed to take the stage at Bonnaroo at 2:45AM last weekend but he showed up at 4:25AM. The crowd really tore into him chanting “Kanye sucks” and even threw glow sticks on stage. According to reports, the big delay was caused by his big stage set which took quite a while to put up after Pearl Jam’s appearance. It was a freaking festival gig. Why did he have to have a big stage set up? Those things have to be quick. I’m not surprised that the fans turned on him for being a big diva about his set.
Sir Elton John has been offered $5million

Sir Elton John has been offered $5million to play an hour-long gig for a female Russian tycoon.
Mega-rich Elton, 61, would pocket $1,392 a SECOND if he agrees to perform at the launch of her swish Moscow hotel. A source said: “Initially Elton turned her down because he’s so busy.
“But when the offer crossed the $3.9 million barrier it was too much to refuse, even for someone of his means. And let’s be honest, $5million buys a hell of a lot of flowers. He’s on the verge of saying yes.”
Elton would be flown to the autumn launch by private jet. Security guards would escort him to the hotel in the posh Rublyovka district; where he would play classics, thought likely to include Daniel and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, before flying straight home.
His fee would be the record paid for a single artist for a gig.

When you’re the star of the show, in the middle of performing a concert to a sold-out crowd, would you ever think that you’d almost get mugged? A bold thief tried to steal 50 Cent’s chain in Africa recently but the rapper jumped into the crowd to get back what was rightfully his. A video has popped up on the net where you can see a concertgoer jump onto the stage during the rapper’s set and yank the chain off his neck. An insider says that what folks couldn’t see on the video was that 50 jumped off the stage, followed the thief and punched the guy who tried to mug him.

Fans at the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida were evacuated from Bon Jovi’s concert this past Saturday night due to a bomb threat. Don’t worry – everyone and their mothers are completely fine. Several bomb-sniffing dogs were sent in to inspect the area after police received a phone call that threatened to blow up the arena with two bombs was received. After police determined that it was all a hoax, fans were let back into the arena at 9:30 to enjoy the show. And if it just happened that any concert-goers were from Fort Lauderdale, they might have been able to catch Richie Sambora play at a condominium too.

Snoop Dogg may soon be allowed to head into the UK. The British government’s decision to ban the legally troubled rapper has just been overturned by an immigration appeals judge. How much trouble does a guy doing soap operas these days pose anyway? The overturning of the decision was due to the fact that it may not be Snoop who’s to blame for the trouble that led to his ban from the country. After reviewing tapes of the brawl that Snoop allegedly sparked at Heathrow airport, the judge ruled that the brawl was “precipitated by decisions made by British Airways staff and police.” The footage even shows that Snoop was pushed twice by an officer but never retaliated. The government agency trying to keep Snoop out of the country has until Wednesday to decide whether to appeal.
Madonna $25m for two gigs

Madonna is to sign the most lucrative contracts of her career – playing two gigs in Dubai for $25MILLION.
The Queen Of Pop is finalising negotiations on a deal to finish her forthcoming world tour in the oil-rich Arab state in November. By my calculations, if one of the gigs – for which she will get $15million – runs to 90 minutes she will pocket a staggering $170.000 a minute.
That’s a pretty impressive pay day by any standards.
And if that wasn’t enough, she is also in talks to perform at a private party for a mystery punter while she is out there which will earn her another $10million.
Sources claim: “Madonna is about to break another record by playing the most lucrative concert of her whole career – or anyone’s career for that matter. The negotiations for the tour to stop in Dubai in November are being finalised and she will get $15million for the one show only. The figure is so big because of her new contract with Live Nation and the huge funds available from private promoters in Dubai.”
Madge signed to the company for $120million last autumn. The source added: “She is also close to agreeing to play at a private party in Dubai, the first in her career.”
If Madge sticks to her confession in a recent interview, she won’t be settling for a bottle of champers and a bunch of flowers in her dressing room as payment. She said she wouldn’t perform at a private bash for less than$10million. All in all it looks like Madge is on a nice little earner.
The deal will have top music figures queuing up for a piece of the action. How long before Sir Elton John is doing a residency?
Madge’s new bosses at Live Nation are keen for this not to be a one-off and are already in the process of brokering similar deals with other massive bands.
Millions of Pounds on offer for just one gig – shouldn’t be too hard to get them signed up.
Riot for DMX

Times are getting tough for some of the music industry’s once hottest rappers. DMX has hit the college campus tour. The rapper performed at Indiana University last Wednesday night. Tickets were purchased for $25 through Lambda Chi Alpha. The concert was supposed to begin at 8:30PM but didn’t start until an hour later because DMX arrived late. Unfortunately for concertgoers, the concert shut down after just 3 songs because the organization told the University that the noise would be over by 9:30PM. When music was heard past that, police arrived to shut down the scene. That’s when things got bad. Profanities were yelled, students got maced – it just got really rowdy.

Going to a concert is always a fun thing to do. It’s especially fun if artists have a little something planned too. Fans at the House of Blues in LA on Wednesday night got fun, more fun and even more fun.
Common was the one scheduled to take the stage but after a couple of songs, Kanye West came out to perform ‘Can’t Tell Me Nothing’ and ‘Good Life’. If that wasn’t enough for you, Busta Rhymes also busted out on the stage and performed too. Essentially, that’s 3 shows for the price of one – how lucky can you get?
Wyclef Gives to Parolees

He may not be all that nice to his fans of over 200 lbs. but he is nice to his homeless ones. Wyclef Jean was feeling charitable at his show at the House of Blues this past weekend. He actually decided to give a free concert ticket to a random, homeless parolee he met outside. He didn’t catch the show though. The grateful man grabbed the ticket and immediately went after some scalpers because seeing a show probably wasn’t very high on his “I need to get my life together” list. It was a nice try Wyclef. It would probably be better if you threw a twenty next time.
