Beyonce Pretends to be Normal
Feb 2, 2009 Beyonce

The prim and proper rich girl turned diva also known as Beyonce is trying once again to make us believe that she’s just like us regular people. Of course, all her trying was in vain. In a recent interview, she talked about how she’s just like everyone else saying “I’m not this round the clock diva looking for attention. I’m way more comfortable out of the spotlight and just chilling out with my family. I’m very quiet. I love to paint. I love to watch TV though it seems I never get to do it. I love a lot old television shows. I still love the ‘Cosbys’. I also love the ‘Fresh Prince’.”

Jan 19, 2009 Beyonce, Bono, Bruce Springsteen

Big stars like Bruce Springsteen, Bono and Beyonce are set to perform during US President-elect Barack Obama’s pre-inauguration concert on January 18 at Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC. The list of celebrities who wanted to perform for Obama’s pre-inaugural and actual inauguration ceremony is endless but only a few were chosen due to the sensitivity of the event and the very tight security procedures.

You can also watch the show in any cable station beginning 7 PM. Beyonce is Notorious
Jan 14, 2009 Beyonce, Notorious BIG

Beyonce Knowles and hubby Jay-Z hit the premiere of ‘Notorious’ at the AMC Lincoln Square in New York City last week. The movie is a biopic about rapper The Notorious BIG. The movie is about the rapper’s rise from the streets of Brooklyn to become one of the most influential hip hop artists of all time. BIG was a gifted storyteller; his narratives about violent life on the streets were told with a gritty, objective realism that won him enormous respect and credibility. His stories were universal and gave a voice to his generation. The movie opens everywhere this coming Friday, January 16.

Beyonce has the X Factor
Dec 22, 2008 Beyonce

Beyonce looked stunning in a black gown that she wore for the 2008 Los 40 Principales awards ceremony at the Palacio de los Deportes in Madrid, Spain last week. The 27-year old singer recently did a Britney Spears as weel when she made a guest performance on the British show X-Factor. Beyonce performed the song ‘Listen’ as a duet with Alexandra Burke. If you were able to catch the show, you should also know that Alexandra was eventually crowned the winner of the show. Even if you didn’t catch it, you should know that she would win anyway. Who loses after performing with Beyonce anyway?
Beyonce’s Cadillac Records
Dec 9, 2008 Beyonce, Record Label

Beyonce was looking glamorous on the red carpet in a back Dolce & Gabbana dress with puff sleeves for the premiere of her new movie ‘Cadillac Records’ which was held at The Egyptian Theater this past Monday in Hollywood. The 27-year old singer and actress finished off her outfit with a glitzy belt and Brian Atwood heels. Beyonce portrays singer Etta James in the drama musical which comes out December 5. ‘Cadillac Records’ explores the 1950s musical era, chronicling the life of the influential Chicago-based record company executive Leonard Chess and the singers who recorded for Chess Records. It sounds like a great movie to me.

Beyonce to be Number 1
Nov 30, 2008 Beyonce, Records Sale, Taylor Swift

I guess Sasha really is fierce. According to HITS Daily Double, Beyonce’s new double disc ‘I Am…Sasha Fierce’ is said to be the #1 album by next week. She is expected to sell anywhere between 500,000 to 550,000 units of her album. That’s not good enough to match Taylor Swift’s sales though as the country singing cutie sold 592,000 copies of her latest album. If Beyonce does get number 1, it’s going to be a close call for #2 – either David Cook, Nickelback or Taylor. I hope Taylor beats the boys. Either way, it’s not going to be a bad week for any of the singers.

TRL’s Star-Studded Farewell
Nov 26, 2008 Beyonce, Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus, Justin Timberlake, TRL

TRL has gone and said goodbye but they made sure that they left an impression. Beyonce opened up the show by singing ‘Single Ladies’ and ‘Crazy in Love’. Carson Daly and Damien Fahey took to the stage to host a bit before a clip of Miley Cyrus was shown. Then Diddy took to the stage to talk about TRL. Ben Stiller and Christina Aguilera also had clips for TRL before they went to Fall Out Boy performing on a huge stage out in Times Square. Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez also did a mini reunion recollecting their NSYNC days. Kid Rock, TRL news correspondents, Snoop Dogg, Nelly, Ludacris, Vanessa Minnillo, Heidi Montag, Hilary Duff and many others showed up to say goodbye to the show. It sucked that some of the performances were pre-taped though.

Beyonce is Wonder Woman
Nov 17, 2008 Beyonce

Beyonce has recently told the LA Times that she wants to be the first black Wonder Woman. She has already been in talks with DC Comics and Warner Bros to achieve that dream. She said “I want to do a superhero movie and what would be better than Wonder Woman? It would be great. And it would be a very bold choice. A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing. It’s time for that, right? After doing these roles that were so emotional (‘Dreamgirls’, ‘Cadillac Records’) I was thinking to myself, ‘OK, I need to be a superhero.’ Although, when you think about the psychology of the heroes in the films these days, they are still a lot of work, of course, and emotional. But there’s also an action element that I would enjoy.”

Beyonce’s Final TRL Appearance
Oct 22, 2008 Album Release, Album Review, Beyonce

Beyonce recently stopped by MTV Studion in New York City for an appearance on Total Request Live. The 27-year old singer talked about her upcoming album and showed off her two new music videos for her songs ‘Single Ladies’ and ‘If I Were a Boy’. Beyonce also talked about why there were no collaborations on her upcoming album saying “I just wanted people to get to know me and the two extremes of my personality. Once the album comes out, you’ll completely understand. You can kind of see with the videos. One is my alter ego (Sasha) and the other one is really intimate and emotional. The album is kind of split into two, it’s a double album.”

Timbaland Does Karaoke
Jun 30, 2008 Beyonce, Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Karaoke, Madonna, Missy Elliot, Prince, Timbaland
Timbaland got married on a private island in Aruba last weekend but don’t think that the rapper and mega producer went all out with the fancy stuff. Spies at the wedding site says that the music mogul’s wedding, which the hotel called the code name of ‘Heaven on Earth’, actually featured open mic karaoke and $50,000 worth of flowers. If you compare that to Mariah’s weddings, it’s practically peanuts. Oprah, Madonna, Missy Elliott, Beyonce, Jay-Z and Prince were said to be invited but there’s no official word on just who actually showed. What, Justin Timberlake wasn’t invited? I was kind of imagining him as the wedding singer.
Jay-Z and Beyonce Duet
Jun 21, 2008 Beyonce, Duets, Hip Hop, Jay-Z, Noel Gallagher, Oasis

Jay-Z and Beyonce could be teaming up for a duet this summer.
The married couple are rumored to appear on stage together at the O2 Wireless Festival in London, just one week after the rapper controversially headlines Glastonbury. A source said: “Jay-Z is planning a spectacle to end of spectacles. He knows all eyes will be on him when he headlines Glastonbury but he’s actually planning on whipping up something special for Wireless too. He’s been talking to Beyonce about getting her on stage.’
The hip-hop star, who teamed up with Beyonce for her worldwide smash hit ‘Crazy In Love’ and ’03 Bonnie and Clyde’, is also planning to fly in a huge string section and orchestra for the Hyde Park concert.
Since being announced as a Glastonbury headliner, Jay-Z has been criticized by rock royalty, including Oasis star Noel Gallagher, who insists a hip-hop act should not top the bill at the event.
Beyonce Obsessed

Much like Justin Timberlake, Beyonce Knowles is focusing on her movie career right now. Variety is reporting that the former Destiny’s Child member has signed up for a new movie called ‘Obsessed’. The 26-year old singer turned actress will play the knockout wife of an asset manager to be played by Idris Elba from ‘The Wire’. ‘Heroes’ hottie Ali Larter will play a temp office worker who begins stalking Elba’s character. Steve Shill will take the director’s helm for the movie. Beyonce will start production for the movie this summer. Also, she’s producing and co-starring as Etta James in Cadillac Records.

Nov 28, 2007 Beyonce, Famous People, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Music Artists, Singers

After a rollercoaster ride of emotions, rapper Kanye West finally buried his mother, Dr. Donda West, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma earlier this week.
The ceremony was held at the True Vine Ministry church which could hold up to 2,500 people. The funeral was attended by members of the music industry as reported by AccessHollywood.com. Beyonce and Jay-Z attended the services where John Legend and Anita Baker performed in honor of Donda.
Kanye reportedly broke down inside the church as he was giving his eulogy and talking about his mother. He said, he wanted her to not “rest in peace, but rest in paradise.”
Beyonce at AMAs
Nov 26, 2007 AMA - American Music Awards, Beyonce, Music, Music Artists, News, Performance, Pop Music, R&B, Singers

Bobby Brown may be going through a career change by trying to make it in country but did you ever fathom that Beyonce could do that same?
In a surprising move, Beyonce put a sweet country twist to her massive hit ‘Irreplaceable’ and even brought in Sugarland country crusaders Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush at the 2007 American Music Awards.
Beyonce was also recognized with the International Artist Award of Excellence. It’s a huge achievement because not only is she the first female artist to ever receive it but she also joins a list of legends including Michael Jackson, Rod Stewart, Led Zeppelin, the Bee Gees and Aerosmith.
Beyonce – Irreplaceable
Nov 7, 2007 Album Review, Beyonce, Movies, Music, Music Artists, Music Videos, New Single, News, Pop Music, R&B, Singers, Song

“Deja Vu” suffered from being a bit too familiar and a frenetic accompanying video that turned off more than a few fans. “Ring the Alarm,” tricked out with sirens and a video of Beyonce conjuring memories of Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct, failed to maintain attention for more than a few listens. However, “Irreplaceable” could change all that.
“Irreplaceable” was co-written by Ne-Yo and produced by StarGate, one of the most potent hitmaking teams of the year. They have collaborated on Ne-Yo’s own “So Sick” and Rihanna’s “Unfaithful,” to name just a pair of successful hits. “Irreplaceable,” with its instantly memorable melody and irresisible “to the left” hook should follow in those songs’ footsteps.
An element that makes “Irreplaceable” resonate deeper after hearing it multiple times is that the subject matter of female strength and independence is at the core of the entire B’Day enterprise. This song will remind many listeners of concepts central to Terry McMillan’s Waiting to Exhale which remains a cultural touchstone 14 years after its release. Look for “Irreplaceable” to help Beyonce regain her pop momentum just in time for her end of the year starring role in the film version of Dreamgirls.
Until the End of Time – JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE & BEYONCÉ
Nov 1, 2007 Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Music, Music Artists, New Single, News, Pop Music, Prince, R&B, Singers, Song, Stripped

Justin Timberlake’s sixth release from solo bow “FutureSex/LoveSounds” has earned props as the first time that six tracks from one release have hit the top 40 since Michael Jackson’s “Dangerous” more than 15 years ago. With Beyoncé now stripped onto “Until the End of Time,” it’s quite likely JT will score the tenacious set’s fourth No. 1—which has already catapulted into the top five at R&B.
The meandering song is clearly a tribute to Prince, with its soul-soaked guitar-driven shuffle and funkified production—think “I Would Die 4 U” on Xanax. While Timberlake’s vocals are smoothed out to near anonymity, as usual, he employs recognizable falsetto amid layers of appreciably creamy harmonies.
It’s Beyoncé, however, that really fuels the passion of the track, with her loosest vocal performance since “Listen” from “Dreamgirls”—and Timberlake is wise enough to sprawl her vocal across the song so that it commands the lead. The mantra here: unstoppable.
