Beyonce Opens Cosmetology Center

Beyonce unveiled the Beyonce Cosmetology Center at the Phoenix House in Brooklyn, New York last Friday. The 28-year old singer’s new center will offer a residential substance abuse treatment program that will teach men and women how to prepare for a career in cosmetology. This isn’t the first time that the R&B diva has worked with the Phoenix House charity. According to Forbes, Beyonce donated her acting salary from her 2008 film ‘Cadillac Records’ to the non-profit organization. In the film, Beyonce played iconic singer Etta James who struggled with drug addiction in the past. It’s obviously a cause that’s near and dear to her heart.

Or child spoiler… depending on how you look at it. It seems that Beyonce really loves to look after her nephew, Daniel, the son of her sister Solange. Apparently both Beyonce and Jay-Z enjoy the company of the five year-old, as Solange relates: “Beyonce’s very hands-on. I’ve had two weekends where I’ve been able to hand him over, and it’s been very nerve-racking for me, but she does a great job. They actually request him more than I’m willing to give him. But the bedtimes we got to work on. Sometimes I’ll call expecting him to be asleep, but he’s still up!” Well the child has so many wonderful stories to hear from uncle Jay-Z, now doesn’t he? How could his mom expect him to go to sleep early when there is so much to be learned?
Beyonce’s father ordered to pay child support ahead of paternity test

Beyonce’s father has been ordered to pay $8,200 a month in child support by a Los Angeles judge.
Matthew Knowles, however, is yet to take a paternity test to establish he is the father of a child born to Alexsandra Wright. She claims he is the father of a son, Nixon, born on February 4 out of an 18-month relationship.
The judge’s order includes non-insured medical insurance costs and is retroactive to February 1, with $20,750 ordered for the month of January.
Knowles will take the DNA test on March 1, with long-term support in the balance pending the result.
It is claimed that Knowles gave Wright $10,000 in January to cover uninsured medical costs and baby gear.

Shooting During Beyonce Concert

A number of crazy people reportedly opened fire outside of Beyonce’s concert last week. The youths involved began shooting at concert goers as they left the R&B singer’s show at the Parque de Exposicoes in Salvador, Brazil. Thankfully, none of Beyonce’s fans were injured during the terrifying incident. It leads one to question though, why would you shoot at random people? Do the people in Brazil hate Beyonce that much to want to scare music fans off? I highly doubt that. Again, it’s very fortunate that no one got hurt – Beyonce and fans alike. As a reminder to all, remember that violence is never the answer.

The two singers apparently took a little trip to Rio in Brazil recently in order to shoot a video for Alicia Keys’ song, “Put it in a love song” which features a duet by the two world-class acts. This is what Alicia Keys said about being in Rio: “First look on top of the mountain of brasil off to an incredible start”. It’s good she’s so optimistic… also, it’s nice to see Beyonce working with other singers now. And in such exotic places… who knows, the places themselves might inspire Beyonce to take that long awaited and greatly postponed vacation.

After winning six Grammy awards last week, Beyonce reportedly approached rock band Kings of Leon and suggested that they collaborate on a track. A source said “Beyonce looked stunning and was chatting to virtually every major star on hand. She kissed Kings of Leon on their cheeks and congratulated them on winning an award for ‘Use Somebody’. They were chatting for ages. She knows how huge they are in the UK and loves their album. She was scouting for people to collaborate with and has been talking about doing something different with a rock band. Kings of Leon would be perfect.”

Sizzling Beyonce cranks up the Heat in a revealing low-cut dress in a steamy advert for her new perfume.
The diva smoulders on screen in the commercial for her debut fragrance Beyonce Heat.
Beyonce also sings the classic Fever as the soundtrack while she sends temperatures soaring in the ad.
The advert begins with a sweaty and apparently naked Beyonce rubbing her shoulders seductively in a bath before she slips into a barely-there red dress.
She then runs her hand teasingly along a wall before writhing in front of a mirror.
At the end of the ad Grammy-winner Beyonce purrs: “Catch the fever.”

Beyonce looked absolutely stunning when she walked the red carpet at the 2010 Grammy Awards which was held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday. The singer received a record 10 nominations this year including ‘Record of the Year’ and ‘Album of the Year’. Before the event even went live on the air, Beyonce already won four wards during the pre-telecast ceremony. She won Best Contemporary R&B Album for ‘I Am… Sasha Fierce’, Best Traditional R&B Performance for ‘At Last’ and Best Female R&B Performance for her hit ‘Single Ladies’ which also won Best R&B Song. Congratulations Beyonce!

Beyonce Talks Family
Beyonce is featured on the February 2010 cover of Allure magazine which hits stands on January 26. The 28-year old singer shared her plans on starting a family with her rapper hubby Jay-Z. Beyonce said “I definitely want to have a child, but I know from my nephew [Juelz] it’s a lot. I hope that those things will just happen naturally. I still haven’t had time to relax.” That’s right! She first needs to find the time to actually settle down in one place without working to even try to start a family of her own. I bet she and Jay-Z will have some cute kids though.

Beyonce and Jay-Z are in the big bucks
It comes as no real surprise that Forbes’ top earning Hollywood couples gave the first place to Beyonce and Jay-Z who apparently had combined earnings of 122 million dollars between June 2008 and June 2009. They were far ahead of the second place couple Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart who had a combined about of only 69 million. At least we all know where Beyonce gets her interestingly high sums. It also shows why she probably has such high rates when performing… especially at private parties. After all, customers do like to retain their anonymity when employing a two million-dollar a night star like Beyonce.

Beyonce has admitted that her mother Tina loves reading celebrity magazines.
According to reports, the popstar is often embarrassed by her mum’s fondness for gossip.
“My mother loves to read celeb magazines, especially the racy tabloids,” she said. “I can’t believe it sometimes. She’ll go to this magazine store in New York and buy 20 magazines while I’m standing next to her. I’m just praying nobody recognises me while my mum is stacking up those magazines!”
Beyoncé added that she has tried to tell her mother that the articles aren’t always accurate.
“She loves reading the gossip about celebs and movie stars,” she explained. “I tell her a lot of the stuff isn’t true, but she says she gets a kick out of reading all the nonsense that gets printed, even about me!”
Tina Knowles recently filed for divorce after 29 years of marriage.
Beyonce has the best track of the decade
Well now, here’s a diva that doesn’t flaunt her ways in public so much as some others one might think of… and she seems to be more successful than those “others”. It seems Beyonce’s song “Crazy in Love” has just made the #1 position on NME Magazine’s “Song of the Decade” list. Boy, this decade must’ve sure been missing some really good music, but then again, the list is probably a reader’s choice so we can blame it all on them. Hopefully this won’t go to Beyonce’s head too much… there’s no need for another Mariah Carey running around ravaging the countryside.

Beyonce seems to have her hubby Jay-Z wrapped around her little finger. While attending the Victoria’s Secret after party at M2 last week, the rapper refused to walk the red carpet and take any photos with all the hot models out of respect for his singer wife. According to a source, Victoria’s Secret practically begged Jay-Z to take pictures with the lingerie models but the rapper would not budge. Beyonce must crack that whip hard. I’m pretty sure Jay-Z has become a laughing stock. If people weren’t scared of what he’s capable of doing to them, I’m certain they would have laughed in his face.

The rapper has finally did it! For the first time in his career, Jay-Z got a number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 with his song “Empire State of Mind”. Congratulations are in order, especially considering this is a man who spends his time occupied with his various businesses and helping other artists launch their careers. Jay-Z proved that all you need is a heap load of money and influence and you can turn the musical sphere all the way around… you couldn’t do that with talent. Jay-Z is probably in for one hell of a party and Beyonce must be so happy for him… even though she herself might have been vying for the achievement.

Beyonce was in London, England recently and she was accompanied by loads of stuff. According to The Mirror, the 28-year old singer stayed in the presidential suite at Lowry Hotel, the first five star hotel in the Manchester area while she booked another room for luggage about 30 miles away at the cheaper yet still chic boutique hotel, Malmaison, Liverpool. A source said “She had seven suitcases, three hand luggage bags and two boxes, all for her mammoth gig. In the cases there were apparently 14 dresses, lots of shoes, make-up and 25 wigs.” If she was staying at the presidential suite, wouldn’t it have had enough room for all of that?

The singer was at the MTV European Music Awards where she really scored big time in prizes. It seems Beyonce got the Best Song Award, the Best Video Award and the Best Female Singer Award. Well, nobody can doubt Beyonce’s artistic value now… it seems Robbie Williams missed out on a prize or two. You have to wonder though if the way Beyonce was dressed had anything to do with her wins. Apparently, she was wearing a red corset and suspenders. It should also be noted that the corset had a very generous cleavage… actually, it looked more like it was cut in two with a very sharp knife. Could that have influenced anything?

This is what she said: “When we were doing the video, I said I want to do you. I wanna do my version of Beyonce. I called myself GEYonce.” Well, apart from the fact that “GEYonce” would probably sound so utterly insulting, especially for Beyonce, that “I said I want to do you” really sounds dubious. Does Lady GaGa really want to? Jay-Z probably wouldn’t mind… there’s a good formula for a new “3” video clip right there.

According to an insider who spoke to Life & Style “On Oct. 7, Lady Gaga and Beyoncé were working on the video together at a studio in NYC. Everything on the set was being kept very hush-hush, and security was extremely tight.” I wonder how this managed to stay off the radar. The insider goes on to say that the singers and fashion icons showed off their individual styles for the video, saying “Beyonce wears a feathered dress. And of course Lady Gaga wears something wild. The fashion is sick and insane.”

Beyonce picked up two gongs at the recent MOBO awards as British acts scooped most of the prizes
Beyonce picked up two gongs at the recent MOBO awards as British acts scooped most of the prizes.
The bash was held in Glasgow this year and saw a number of British acts scoop the prizes, but US stars Beyonce and Keri Hilson also scooped some awards.
Beyonce, 28, picked up the gong for Best International Artist and Best Video for her track Single Ladies. Knock You Down singer Keri Hilson, who co-presented the show, also won an award for Best R&B.
A tribute to Michael Jackson was also performed by his brother Jermaine and dancers Diversity as well as Britain’s Got Talent star Shaheen Jafargholi.
