The rapper received nine nominations for the fourth annual BET Hip Hop Awards which will air on October 27th. Kanye leads in the nominations with Jay-Z and Lil Wayne following with seven nods each and TI having six nods. People may not be happy with Kanye as a person but they sure are happy with his music. This time, I bet he can hog the spotlight and ruin his image without having to hurt someone else in turn.

Alicia Keys and Tyra Banks were winners at the inaugural BET (Black Entertainment Network) Honors awards on Saturday

‘Fallin” singer Alicia was given the Entertainment Award, at the glitzy ceremony held at Washington’s Warner Theatre, but said she still can’t believe she gets paid to do what she loves.

She said: “For me, I’m just a girl from Harlem, and here I am. It’s a tremendous feeling to do what you love and for people to love what you do.People are honouring me for doing what my heart tells me to do, and that is so fulfilling.”

Hats off to the girls!
