Michelle Obama ‘more excited’ by Harry Potter film set than meeting the Queen

Harry Potter star Emma Watson has revealed American First Lady Michelle Obama said coming to the set of the film was "more exciting" than meeting the Queen.

Obama and daughters Sasha and Malia visited the set of the final film – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which the cast are currently shooting.

Watson, 19, told BBC Radio One: "Michelle Obama came to set recently with her children, which was amazing. Harry Potter is so universally adored but the day I really realised that was when she came to set.

"She said it was more exciting than meeting the Queen, which is insane! The children were obviously big fans, they were really inquisitive and asked loads of questions."

Watson, who stars as brainy witch Hermione Granger, recently had to film a kissing scene with co-star Rupert Grint, 20, and she admitted the pair of them were nervous: "It’s awkward for both of us because we are like siblings, we’ve grown up together."

Alicia Keys is Michelle Obama

Alicia Keys does her best impression of the First Lady Michelle Obama in a new photo from Glamour magazine’s tribute to American Icons. The magazine even had stand-ins for the Obama daughters, Malia and Sasha. In the accompanying interview, Alicia spoke of Michelle saying “She has worked hard for everything she’s accomplished, and done so with grace and humility. So many women and girls can identify with her story.” Other photographs in the tribute show Camilla Belle as Mary Tyler Moore, Lindsay Lohan as Madonna and many others. Alicia and Camilla, I get. But how did Lindsay get a spot on that spread?

Rihanna has Obama Wrapped Around her Finger

Rihanna showed off her rather funky but patriotic fingernails when she performed at the NFL Pepsi Smash Super Bowl Concert which was held at the Florida State Fairgrounds’ Ford Amphitheater last week. Her pinky had the image of President Barack Obama. In other Rihanna news, the 20-year old Barbadian babe and Timbaland are rumored to be throwing a Pre-Grammy party on February 6th in Los Angeles. Timbaland hosted a party last year with Fergie joining him in hosting. I bet a lot of people will be going to that party as there are reportedly a lot of parties being cut due to the economic situation.

DJ Cassidy creates playlist for Obama inauguration

If you enjoyed the music played during the inauguration of President Barack Obama then you only have ot thank Cassidy Podell aka DJ Cassidy. To those not yet familiar with his work, he is the same guy who handled the music playlist for the hush-hush wedding of Beyonce and Jay Z. Oprah WInfrey recommended the 27-year old Cassidy to the Obamas. Winfrey was apparently very satisfied with the work done by Casidy during the opening of her girls’ school in South Africa that she did not hesitate in recommending his services to the 44th President of the United States. True enough, Cassidy lived up to his reputation by providing great music selections that kept the ball rolling. He also provided a CD for Obama’s nine other offiicla balls.

On top of DJ Cassidy’s playlist is Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours)” song which was used throughout the Obama campaign. McFaden & Whitehead’s “Ain’t No Stoppin’ us Now” was an appropriate selection for Obama’s victory and inauguration to the Office while Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell’s “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” made the guests feel that this administration can hurdle any challenge no matter how great. Also inlcuded in the playlist are Diana Ross’ “I’m Coming Out”, Michael Jackson’s “Wanna Be Startin’ Something”, The O’Jays’ “Love Train”, U2’s “Pride (In The Name Of Love)”, Sister Sledge’s “We Are Family” and jackie Wilson’s “Your Love Keeps Lifting me Higher”.

Rappers at the Barack Obama Inaugural Ball

The rapper T.I. had a very interesting speech at the Inaugural Ball in Washington D.C. Here are just a few of his breathtaking words: “I want to thank God for somehow … I know he perfect. So I’mma thank him for everything. I’mma thank him for making me drop out of school. I’mma thank him for making me run the streets. I’mma thank him for making me sell crack.” And it goes on an on. First of: what language is he speaking in, is that English? And secondly: that’s the kind of Americans they have over there? Apparently he’s the CEO of a record company and also a reputed rapper and even actor… and he got all that way by selling crack on the streets? Tisk, tisk…

Beyonce & Jay-Z star at Barack Obama inauguration-eve show

Jay-Z and Beyonce joined hands in paying tribute to Barack Obama on the eve of his inauguration by presenting an intimate one-off special concert at Washington DC’s Warner Theater on January 19.

The entire backdrop of the stage was cover with images of Obama and that drew the most cheers from a crowd which had an impressive array of guest with fans paying anywhere from $100 to $500 to join in the celebrations to mark the inauguration of their new President.

Jay-Z played select numbers like ‘Hard Knock Life’, ‘99 Problems’ & ‘Dirt Off Your Shoulder’. Beyonce though just made an electrifying guest appearance and sang ‘Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)’.

At the end of the show Jay-Z dished out champagne to fans in the front row which included celebrities like actor Samuel L Jackson. With just a sometime before Obama officially takes over as the 44th President of United States of America people are really brimming with hope that the dawn will spell a new beginning for all of America.

Barack Obama’s Inaugural Ball will have Mariah Carey singing

Beside singer Beyonce Mariah Carey too will be there for the Inaugural Ball of the new US President Barack Obama and the hitmaker singer will sing Hero when the President-elect is sworn in as America’s 44th leader on Tuesday.

She says, “It’s fitting for him. It’s appropriate.” I think this is a big honor anyone and to be able to sing a song right in front of the President of the United States of American is one thing you will never forget for your entire life time.

I am sure Mariah too knows how big a day this is in her life and she would be contacting people involved in the recording of this Inaugural Ball and telling them hey make sure you have an extra copy of event where I come in and sing.

And may be if the chap delivers her the copy at her home she would have a nice present for him back stage during one of her concerts allowing him a sneak peak.

Still No Jennifer Hudson

Previous reports claimed that Jennifer Hudson might be singing the national anthem at Barack Obama’s inauguration on January 20th. That would have marked her first public appearance and performance since the unfortunate deaths of her family. However, a rep has just said that there was no truth to the reports. She must stil be needing some time to move on. Now, it seems that her first public performance will be on February 6th at the MusiCares Person of the Year event in Los Angeles honoring Neil Diamond. Let’s hope that she really does make it to that one. The best way to move on is to go on about your life.

Usher is Speechless on Obama’s success

While Barack Obama and his Democrat supporters were busy in partying and celebrating their success, Usher found himself speechless on the occasion.

When asked about his comments on the event, Usher replied, “I’m speechless, honestly. I don’t even know what to say.”

But in fact he still had enough to say.

Usher said, “Barack Obama doesn’t represent a color. He represents change.”

He further added, “I think this sets us off in the right direction in terms of change of tone. ….. The fact that so many people were encouraged by [his] words … by his message. It was never self-serving, it was always for country. Country first!”

He described his experience of the historical event as, “Man, this is incredible, after a lot of campaigning, and then a lot of prayer … It’s so incredible to see that this historical thing has happened.”

It is definitely a time history will always remember.

Paul McCartney Honored At MTV Europe Music Awards

It was all about Beatlemania & Obamamania on Thursday in Liverpool the venue for the staging of the MTV Europe Music Awards. Amidst all the stars that were present of the gala event, US President elect Barack Obama was undoubtedly one of the stars who drew attention despite not being there in person. Paul McCartney received an “ultimate legend” award from U2 singer Bono.

What I really feel good about is that Paul’s ex-wife that in true sense true gold digger is now not apart of his life anymore which to me means that this good bloke shall be able to enjoy life without some bimbo ruining his wealth on extravagant Persian rugs and things like that.

Bono hailed the ex-Beatle as “St. Paul McCartney” and the “one person in this hall tonight whose work is immortal.” The top honors went to the likes of Kanye who was given the “ultimate urban” act, others included Pink while Britney Spears won two awards and stars on the stage included Kid Rock, Beyonce and former Beatle Paul McCartney.

Diddy’s Voting Efforts

The troubled voting state of Florida got some last minute encouragement from rappers Jay-Z and Diddy over the weekend. During a ‘Last Chance for Change’ rally on Sunday at Florida Memorial University, the duo told voters not to be discouraged by long lines at polling places. Music executive Kevin Liles also pointed out that fans have endured long lines for CDs and Jordans so why not endure long lines to vote and make a change. Hip hop mogul and singer Mary J. Blige were also in attendance showing their support to the now President-elect Barack Obama. This election has proven to be moving for young voters with record-breaking young voter registration and record-breaking early voting.
