Ameriie marries Lenny Nicholson in Anguilla

R&B star Ameriie has got married to Lenny Nicholson in Anguilla in the British West Indies. The 30-year-old singer wed the former Columbia Records executive wearing a Monique Lhuillier dress with a long train and baby blue Yves Saint Laurent Tribute sandals as well as jewellery by Rafaello & Co. Speaking about her wedding, she said to PEOPLE: “This is such an exciting time for me. This is my first marriage and I am over the moon. “I look forward to a loving and enduring marriage. This day couldn’t come any sooner for me. I am beyond thrilled. I will remember this day forever.” The wedding, reception and other events were all held at the luxurious Viceroy Anguilla resort.

Amerie Changes Name

Amerie has officially changed the spelling of her name by adding an extra “I” to her name. The ‘1 Thing’ singer now goes by Ameriie. The pop star explained to Rap-Up “I operate on vibes and intuition, and I believe everything is energy; the vibration of the double I is right for me. Slightly different spelling, completely same pronunciation!” I’m thinking that this name change of sorts is just a ploy to get people talking about her. Ameriie, has been busy recording her new album ‘Cymatika Vol. 1’, which is named after the study of visible sound and vibration. Frankly, no one cares.

Amerie Talks Twitter

Amerie recently did an interview with HoneyMag.com where the singer talked about relationships, staying true to herself and connecting with her fans. The 29-year old spoke of connecting with fans, saying “I always reach out to my fans. When I first came out, I had my own website and I would do an update. A lot of people weren’t doing that. Some were, but not a whole lot. It was more like posting a paragraph about what’s going on. And now with Twitter and everything, it’s just like a constant influx of information from everyone, you know? I do have a Twitter account and I definitely do use it.”

Amerie Talks New Album

Amerie recently had an interview with The Urban Daily to talk about her new album ‘In Love & War’ which is already in stores. The 31-year old singer said “The album, for the most part, is about the hard times of relationships. There’s no song that idealizes love…it’s more of a realistic portrayal of being with someone other than yourself.” I don’t think that there’s an artist who hasn’t put out an album revolving around love, regardless of their view on it. When asked whether the Grammy nominee believes that all is fair in love and war, she replied “I think so! Human nature is human nature and the heart wants what the heart wants.”

Amerie: ‘Appreciate Me For My Music’

R&B star Amerie has appealed to fans to appreciate her for her talent and not just her stunning looks. The 1 Thing hit maker, famed for performing in mini skirts or tiny shorts, is keen to win fans over with her records alone because she insists it is her music which differentiates her from her peers. Looks can be deceptive cos they are usually done by the make man or the grooming team, so people just get fantasized by those pics appearing on the cover pages of magazines and elsewhere. Voice and singing talents are something others cannot make and create for you, you either have it or you don’t. Some chaps in the music industry fool people by releasing their albums with another person’s voice and their picture on the label. Once on stage they can be seen lip singing the song. Ooooh! “Don’t Hate Me Because I’m Beautiful…” Party less work harder and once you master your talents, people will start admiring you for the music part as well.
