Akon Lawsuit

Posted under: Akon

Club promoter Lofraco Belgium has filed a lawsuit against Akon for flaking just eight days before his scheduled concert performance in Belgium last October. The promoter claims that the show was supposed to feature two performers on the rapper/singer’s label Konvict Music, namely Kardinal Offishall and Colby O’Donis. He is suing for breach of contract, fraud and concealment. Not only is he asking for his $250,000 in expenses back, but he is also asking for a couple million in punitive damages. If you commit to your appearances, you don’t have to face lawsuits and lose money. Take note of that.

Akon’s video sparks riots

Posted under: Akon, Concert

In Sri Lanka where the singer is due to have a concert some few hundred angry protesters started smashing up Akon’s sponsor’s building because of his new video, “Sexy Chick”, which shows some half-naked women dancing in front of a Buddha statue. It seems the rioters broke a few windows, smashed some cars and even injured some of the employees. Akon might be having second thoughts about his concert there right about now… but anything for the fans, right? It is ironic however that those versed in the arts of inner peace can be so violent for their ends. Quite the little paradox they have going on there.

Akon gives up his radio show

Posted under: Akon, Album

The singer was supposed to do a two-hour show every Saturday night for a London radio station but after just one broadcast it seems Akon saw fit to leave his newfound profession. This is what a spokesperson at the station said about Akon’s sudden change of heart: “Due to Akon’s commitments, including working on a brand new album, we won’t be broadcasting a regular show on 95.8 Capital FM for the time being. Our conversations about future shows are ongoing as we explore other opportunities that may work for both of us.” Working on a new album is definitely tops and a very long and hard job at that. And Akon’s fans cannot be kept waiting, now can they? It’s not like they might’ve enjoyed hearing him live on the radio as opposed to some digital recording of him.

Bow Wow Twitters Drunk Driving

Posted under: Akon, Bow Wow, Chris Brown

Bow Wow may have partied it up in Miami on New Years with bad boys Chris Brown and Akon but it was the younger rapper’s turn to commit the crime. And being the douche bag that he was, Bow Wow actually went on Twitter with the details! He said “Face numb im whippin the lambo. Tispy as f*k. Just left @livmiami. Im f**ked up!!! Ohhhh damn. Y i drive the lambo. Chris might have to drive after next spot.” Lucky for him, tweet aren’t enough to make an arrest. Bow Wow has since taken down his questionable posts and responded with “Apologize for that tweet. it was stupid and immature. not a way i want to kick my #2010 year off. i got too much good stuff lined up. my bad.”

Fight Breaks Out at Akon Gig

Posted under: Akon, Concert

While performing a concert in Melbourne, Australia earlier this week, Akon decided to leap into the crowd to stop a brawl that had broken out between rival gangs. The singer’s promoter talked about his heroic act, saying “One of the things people should take note on is an artist didn’t have too much concern for his own safety to go down and try and make things better. The thing that I saw, and I was standing right next to him … He walked to a girl (involved in a fight) and walked to her and held her face and said, ‘You’re better than that’.” 9 people were taken to the hospital following the fight and 6 have reported being assaulted.

Michael Jackson had two more albums in pipeline

Michael Jackson had two albums in the works at the time of his death, Billboard magazine has reported.

The singer was collaborating on a pop album with singer-songwriters Claude Kelly and Akon, and another collection of classics.

Kelly said: “He was the King of Pop, the biggest to ever do it, and the one thing you never lose – whether known by the whole world or just 10 people – is your love for music. That never goes away and it never went away for him amidst his troubles.”

Akon (pictured) said: “My fans are still there. They still love me. They’re alive … His kids are like his first priority, and they had never seen him perform live. He was trying to create the most incredible show for his kids.”

Jackson was also working on an instrumental album, collaborating with composer David Michael Frank. “He had two demos of two pieces he’d written, but they weren’t complete,” Frank reportedly told Billboard.

“For one of them, he had a whole section of it done in his head. He had not recorded it. He hummed it to me as I sat at the keyboard in his pool house and we figured out the chords – I guess this recording I made is the only copy that exists of this music.”

Further compositions were also in the pipeline, a jazz track among them. “He mentioned more instrumental music of his he wanted to record, including one jazz piece,” said Frank, who hopes the Jackson family will decide to record the music as a “tribute and show the world the depth of his artistry”.

Meanwhile, Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am earlier this week said Jackson had recordings of new songs the pair had worked on together. “He had all the hard drives because I didn’t want to be responsible for that.”

Akon: Michael Jackson was one of the healthiest guys I’ve ever met

Posted under: Akon, Michael Jackson

R&B star Akon said Michael Jackson was “one of the healthiest guys” he’s ever met.

Despite widespread speculation over the pop superstar’s misuse of prescription drugs, the rapper said he was extremely health conscious.

Asked whether he thought Jackson, who died from a suspected heart attack, was physically up to the challenge of his upcoming tour, Akon told NBC’s Today Show: “From my experience with Mike he was one of the healthiest guys I’ve ever known.

“He was always very conscious about his diet, very conscious health-wise. For his age, he moved better than anyone I’ve known. His death came as a complete shock to me.”

Akon to produce Alexandra Burke’s first album

Posted under: Akon, Album

The rapper will be producing Alexandra Burke’s very first album. Akon had this to say about working with the winner of “The X Factor”: “I’ve had calls to work with Alex and I’m going to do it. I love ‘The X Factor’ and I love helping to break new artists. To me, it’s one of the most enjoyable and important aspects of my job.” Also, Akon had this to say about Alexandra Burke’s artistic potential: “I’m taking people’s word on how good Alex is, like I did with Leona. It was a really refreshing experience working with Leona – she’s so quiet and calm.” It looks like an open and shut case, really. Akon probably has nothing to worry about how well Alexandra Burke can perform… after all she won “The X Factor”, that’s got to say something. And, in truth, best-sellers can be practically made from scratch these days.

Singer Akon’s manager beats Suge Knight

Posted under: Akon, Award, Suge Knight

Hip-hop king Suge Knight has suffered bruises and some facial injuries after he was beaten up by the manager of singer Akon. Suge Knight who is the former owner of Death Row Records was attending a party in Scottsdale, Arizona which was held at the W Hotel where celebrations were on as part of the NBA All-Star weekend.

The incident took place in the VIP lounge area where two groups got involved in a bare hands fight and that resulted in Knight being knocked in the head twice. And ultimately the police when it reached the venue at 3.30 AM they had to use Taser guns to break the two groups.

There are reports that Akon was not a part of the huge tussle and had left well before the fight began. Soooo the fearsome Suge Knight’s actually just a law-abiding, pug and not a brutal hoodlum who deserved to be pummeled senselessly.

I really enjoy these rap singers and the others getting into a brawl cos whenever there is something similar to this then the TV ratings for wrestling fight really plummet because such fight are even better – the real street fight kind of thing.

The Curious Case of Akon

Posted under: Akon

Akon has been keeping his real age in hopes to appeal to his fans for a longer amount of time. In a recent interview, the singer said “All it’s going to do is depress me. I don’t want to know I’m getting older. Then I’ll start to think about getting checkups and insurance. I don’t want that.” There’s still debate on his actual age as different reports claimed that he’s anywhere from 25 to 35 years old. In an interview back in 2006, Akon said he was 25. Now he claims he’s 31 according to his birth certificate showing he was born on April 16, 1977. Wikipedia claims from several different sources that he was actually born in 1973. When he gets asked about his age, he gives them whatever comes to mind. He said “I feel like I’m 21 right now. And I’ll be 21 for the next 10 years.”

I do not know my actual age – Akon

Posted under: Akon

Singer Akon has made a startling claim that despite having a birth certificate he does not know is actual age and would rather now not hunt to find the truth. There are different documents and quite a few show his age to be between 25 to 35.

Just a couple of years ago somewhere in 2006 the singer claimed his age to be just 25. But according to latest reports Akon says if the birth certificate that he now has with is shows he was born on April 16, 1977, which would make him 31.

My clear advice to Akon is that if his mother hasn’t added late to her name then he might call her up and ask her if she can remember when he was born if not the date then surely she might remember the year.

Means in some way he rigged the school records to get admission into school and later on college, I have begun to doubt whether he has had any kind of formal education at all. If at all there is no reflection of it in his nonsense songs.

Akon Goes Easy

Posted under: Akon

As it was reported earlier this month, Akon’s court date with a Fishkill Town Justice Court had been postponed til recently. The singer’s assault trial came as a result of a June 2007 concert when he threw a 15-year old concert goer off of the stage. Akon has pleaded guilty to second degree harassment. He ended up having to pay a $250 fee and was also sentenced to 65 hours of community service. Talk about getting off easy. He should have at least been feed for the poor kid’s hospital fees and the family’s legal fees. What possesses someone to throw a guy off stage anyway?

Meeting Michael Jackson a weird experience for Akon

Posted under: Akon, Michael Jackson

R&B star Akon cannot wait to get back in the studio with Michael Jackson – the reason being because Akon considers it to be the “weirdest experience” he’s had with another musician.

He tells, “I thought I was going to be (star struck) on my way there but as soon as we met it was like we knew each other for years. It was the weirdest experience because he knew everything about me, and I knew everything about him. So when we met each other, it was like we knew each other forever… That was the epitome of my collaboration.”

Akon paired up with the former kind of pop on the track Hold My Hand but unfortunately the song was pulled from Akon’s new LP after it leaked online. Remember the incident a couple of years ago when Akon was caught dancing seductively with a teenage girl on stage well now we understand what kind of COLLABORATION the 2 had and where Akon found the inspiration for doing such acts.

Michael Jackson we must say is a pretty good singer and no doubt about that but what I can say with much more authority is that he is an even better teacher to child sex abuse and Akon will admit that.

Akon’s Trial On Hold

Posted under: Akon

Akon has curbed having to sit in court… for now. The singer’s assault trial which was scheduled to commence last Monday in Fishkill Town Justice Court, has been postponed until December 17th. The trial comes as a result of a guilty plea to charges of endangering the welfare of a minor which occurred during a June 2007 concert when Akon threw a 15-year old fan from the stage. At a later date, it will be determined whether or not the case can be taken care of without a trial. Something always goes wrong with his performances. Maybe he should just stop performing all together.

Akon Stands Trial

Posted under: Akon

akon1.jpg

Remember back in June 2007 when Akon threw a 15-year old concertgoer off the stage in a misguided display of machismo? Well, a judge has decided that the singer will stand trial in December. He’s likely to face up to one year and 15 days in jail if he gets convicted. But he can opt to pay up and settle out of court if he thinks he’s odds of going to jail are great. Akon’s reps issued a statement saying “We are pleased that Judge Epstein adjourned the case to a date certain for either a trial or a negotiated resolution. Akon looks forward to putting this incident behind him, and in the meantime he will continue to meet every requirement set forth by the Court.”

Akon No Show

Posted under: Akon, Hip Hop, Music Festivals

akon.jpg

Akon was due in court last week to face criminal charges which stem from an incident last year when a crazed Akon threw a 15-year old fan off stage at the 2007 KFEST concert in June. However, the hip hop artist did not show for his court date which left the judge to order him to appear in court on September 3rd for a possible deposition. If no deposition is needed, then Akon’s case will be put on the trial calendar. Akon was last in court in December 200 when he pleaded not guilty to the charges of second degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a minor.

Akon is Free

Posted under: Akon, Hip Hop

akon.jpg

Akon is still guaranteed to be a free man, at least for a month more. The criminal case against the hip hop artist has been adjourned until next month, on August 6th. The case is from an incident last year when Akon threw a 15-year old fan offstage at the 2007 KFEST concert in June. In December 2007, Akon plead not guilty to charges of second degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a minor. The boy’s mother, Patricia Smith, attended the case hearing this week and said that it was pretty typical. She says “People can just hang in there long enough until the case goes in their favor.” If he gets convicted, the singer can face up to a year and 15 days in the pokey.
