50 Cent Pushes Back
Nov 25, 2008 50 Cent, Album, Rapper

It looks like 50 Cent’s new album ‘Before I Self Destruct’ has lived up to its title. The record has went off only to self destruct. The CD has now been pushed back to 2009 without a specific release date being set. The record was originally set to come out in early December to hopefully capitalize on holiday buying but after the kickoff single tanked, it’s now getting kicked to the curb. I say we should blame Scott Storch for producing the embarrassment of a first single ‘Get Up’. The official reason being given for the album’s delay is that the rapper was rushing to meet the December date but that he opted to wait until next year to fully secure advertising and retail placement.
50 CENT SELF DESTRUCTS
I guess his album is living up to it’s name.
His new album, aptly named Before I Self Destruct, is now being pushed back to 2009. Way 2009! There’s not even a new release date set yet.
The album was originally scheduled to be released this year in December in the hopes of capitalizing on holiday buying. But right after the album’s debut single bombed in the charts, the Self Destruct is now getting kicked to the curb.
Fiddy should blame Scott Storch, who produced the shiteous first single, Get Up.

Kanye VS 50 Part 2
Oct 10, 2008 50 Cent, Kanye West

Another Kanye West versus 50 Cent show down is about to come upon us! The two rappers are releasing new albums in December with only a week separating them. 50 will release his new record on December 9 while Kanye will release his on December 16. I smell a publicity stunt! Apparently, the two are already warming up for the show down as according to a report, 50 poked fun at Kanye’s new single ‘Love Lockdown’ with a sarcastic rendition of the song, with Tony Yayo pretending to smash a camera in reference to Kanye’s biff with the paparazzi. Kanye responded on his blog saying “I guarantee this will be 50’s favorite album of mine. This will be gangster’s album of the year.”
50 Cent Wants Time
50 Cent is still going through a whole lot of baby mama drama to be able to spend less time with his kid. Say what? Sources close to the case reveal that the rapper wants visitation with his 11-year old son every other weekend and that’s it. That makes it 3 separate cases and a load of legal bills for very little time. 50’s lawyer Brett Kimmel also said that the rapper is looking for a month during the summer and access during school recesses. His lawyer says that the request “maximizes the time the child can spend with his father while remaining sensitive to the child’s own schedule.” Sure.
50 Cent Clears Up Shady Business
Reports that said that 50 Cent was uninterested in speaking with officials about the fire that engulfed his home turned out to be a little on the inaccurate side. The rapper’s reps issued a statement last week about the reports saying “50 and his attorneys met yesterday (Wednesday) with Suffolk County authorities regarding the fire that destroyed 50’s house. The meeting had been arranged weeks ago. 50 is eager to review the findings of the investigation, when it is concluded.” I’m eager to find out what’s up with the investigation too. Maybe then the drama around 50 can stop and I can stop writing about his crazy baby mama.
Hip Hopping Rich
Aug 25, 2008 50 Cent, Diddy, Hip Hop, Jay-Z, Kanye West

Hip hop is one rich industry. According to Forbes, in the last year alone, Jay-Z released a platinum album and signed a $150 million deal with Live Nation for a 10-year contract. But that pales in comparison to 50 Cent who, after taxes, took in over $100 million when his stake in the high-calorie Vitamin Water was bought by Coca-Cola. In total, 50 raked in over $150 million in just 12 months – double what Jay-Z made last year. So 50 comes in first on the list of richest hip hop artists for 2008. Jay-Z comes in second. Diddy comes in third for the second year in a row after raking in $35 million from all his revenue streams. Kanye West came in fourth with $30 million.
50 Cent’s Son Kidnapped
Aug 2, 2008 50 Cent, News, Rapper
Rapper 50 Cent recently had a sit down with Sister 2 Sister magazine about his ongoing feud with his baby momma Shaniqua Tompkins. He told the mag that the war broke out when he insisted on finding his son a better home and improving his education. He says “It wasn’t important before the beginning of last year because he was being home schooled… I was paying a teacher $60,000 just to teach him by himself. He was learning slower because it was just him and the teacher. So he needed to go to where he had the best possible schooling district and I found a house in the area that was, like, $1.5 million.” But he claims that Shaniqua started receiving bad advice, insisting on more child support. Things escalated when she got evicted from the home he’d bought. Shaniqua has reportedly fled with his son and continues to battle him for custody and child support.
Young Buck Begs
Jun 23, 2008 50 Cent, G-Unit, Young Buck
Former G-Unit member Young Buck blasted 50 Cent and G-Unit at his concert in Tampa, Florida this past week. He even used the crowd as his own personal therapist to vent his frustration. But since it is 50 who’s behind G-Unit, we shouldn’t be surprised that they’ve fired back in one way or the other. Audio tapes have been mysteriously released to New York DJ Miss Info which feature a blubbering Young Buck begging to stay in the group. Maybe that’s why he’s talking smack. They kicked him out! 50 Cent just showed him who’s the real gangsta in town.
50 cent new name?
Jun 20, 2008 50 Cent, FUN, Rapper

50 Cent has been asked to change his name to 79 Cent by a US fast food chain. The ‘In Da Club’ rapper was challenged by Taco Bell to consider calling himself 79, 89 or 99 Cent to promote the restaurant’s new value menu.
Taco Bell have promised to donate $10,000 to a charity of the rapper’s choice if he also agrees to stop at one of their outlets and rap his order at the drive-thru. The eatery will also treat all the customers at the star’s chosen restaurant to free meals.
Taco Bell President and CEO Greg Creed said in a letter to the singer: “We know that you adopted the name 50 Cent years ago as a metaphor for change. We at Taco Bell are also huge advocates for change. We encourage you to ‘Think Outside the Bun’ and hope you accept our offer.”
50 – real name Curtis Jackson – previously showed his love for fast food during a tour of the UK last year. The hip-hop star reportedly gave a rider to each British concert venue he visited, requesting a KFC chicken bucket served to him on fine china.
50 Cent Almost Mugged
May 8, 2008 50 Cent, Concert Gig, Performance, Rapper

When you’re the star of the show, in the middle of performing a concert to a sold-out crowd, would you ever think that you’d almost get mugged? A bold thief tried to steal 50 Cent’s chain in Africa recently but the rapper jumped into the crowd to get back what was rightfully his. A video has popped up on the net where you can see a concertgoer jump onto the stage during the rapper’s set and yank the chain off his neck. An insider says that what folks couldn’t see on the video was that 50 jumped off the stage, followed the thief and punched the guy who tried to mug him.
50 Cent Blasts Alicia Keys
Apr 23, 2008 50 Cent, Alicia Keys, Rapper

50 Cent is on the warpath yet again, but this time, he’s not after the likes of Ja Rule or Kanye West. The rapper is blasting Alicia Keys for her comments in Blender magazine that “Gangsta rap was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other.” 50 responds to that comment by saying “I don’t like people who don’t like me… that statement changes my perception of Alicia Keys totally. It’s just not really a bright comment.” For her part, Alicia has said that her comments to the magazine were taken out of context. I think she just got scared of all the rappers that may come after her.
50 Cent Does Movies

Rapper 50 Cent is reportedly in talks to star in an upcoming indie movie called ‘Spectacular Regret’. The movie’s plot interconnects the lives of four Los Angeles natives who are struggling to overcome past events. Gee, sounds a lot like ‘Crash’ doesn’t it? Anyway, the rapper is in negotiations to play a death row inmate who becomes a media sensation while facing imminent execution. What is with all these rappers wanting to become actors? Just because a couple of them found success because they actually have talent doesn’t mean everyone should have a go at it! Stick to your day jobs!
Musicians on Steroids
Jan 18, 2008 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, Scandal, Timbaland
It’s not just athletes getting in a steroid scandal these days as it is being reported that 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, Timbaland, Wyclef Jean and Tyler Perry have all been named in a steroid trafficking scandal that may involve thousands of people.
The Times Union of Albany says that “Blige and other stars were shipped prescribed human growth hormone or steroids — sometimes under fictitious names — at hotels, productions studios, private residences, an upscale Manhattan fitness club and through the Long Island office of Michael Diamond, a chiropractor affiliated with the celebrities” citing information from “several cooperating witnesses” in the investigation.
50 Cent on Retirement
Nov 16, 2007 50 Cent, Album, Kanye West, Music, Music Artists, Rap Music, Rapper, Records Sale, Top Music List

50 Cent has promised that should his rival Kanye West beat him in record sales for their newest albums, he would retire. But the rapper is finding more and more loopholes after finding out that Kanye did beat him. First, he said that he beat Kanye in the UK charts and now this.
It seems that 50 doesn’t believe in retirement as he is quoted in saying “I don’t know if it’s possible for a rapper to retire, rappers are like fighters. They condition themselves to be the best. All rappers think they’re the best. And they are just waiting for everyone else to recognise they are the best. You’ll see them come back and back.” He just can’t admit that he got beaten.
50 Cent Picks Yet Another Fight
Nov 1, 2007 50 Cent, FUN, Famous People, MTV, MTV VMA, Music, Music Artists, New Single, News, Performance, Photography, Rap Music, Singers, Song

50 Cent has picked a new feud with rap rival Lil’ Wayne – just because the Louisiana hitmaker is a terrible songwriter. The tough-talking rapper lost out to Wayne – real name Dwayne Carter – in a recent MTV poll, which credited the Shooter singer as hip-hop’s most important name. When is this guy going to learn to behave at least if not always then at least sometimes, I hope he can manage to behave that much or am I asking for too much. First he lost to Kanye West in the battle of album releases and as a consequence he did not make his tour to Europe. Kanye is not too good either after saying that he is not going to attend MTV bashes after not received any awards at the MTV VMAs. Now 50 Cent is such a waste and a person without work that he can keep finding ways to get into some lame fight so that he is written about in the blogs. Once there should be someone who tells him on his face that he is all things that he tells other are.
50 Cent Lost
Sep 18, 2007 50 Cent, Album, Concert Tour, Famous People, Kanye West, Music Artists, Photography, Rap Music

If he’s a man of his word, 50 Cent would be announcing his retirement any day now. The votes are in when it comes to the UK because their new album chart says that Kanye West’s new album ‘Graduation’ is the #1 album on the other side of the Atlantic. 50 Cent’s album ‘Curtis’ came in at the runner up position.
50 is also expected to lose to Kanye in the US as Kanye’s album is predicted to outsell 50’s by 200,000 units. But 50 might find a way out of retirement by making up some blatant lie.
But then again, 50 might have also felt the heat from Kanye’s victory as he has cancelled his European tour which was supposed to kick off this weekend. Wow!
50 Cent Blaming Interscope For Poor Album Sales
Sep 14, 2007 50 Cent, Album, Famous People, Hip Hop, Music, Music Artists, News, Photography, R&B, Records Sale

I dislike all this feuding when there is so much more to think about. We have a war going on and president who has no clue of what he is doing. With the money you all have should invest in putting music back in schools. You are role models for not just the young but everyone. Step back and stop thinking about self. In the dope game it is said, “There is a lot of money for all of us.” Greed is the problem. Can’t we all get along anymore? The war is not against one another it is those who did the 911 attacks. Get your mind in the swing of things. We all have little people looking at our behavior, what message are you sending them? It is time to grow and take a stand as adults. Ridiculous, but this was going to happen, all long Kanye and Curtis have been saying that who will be outselling whom. And now the game has just begun.
50 Cent v. Kanye West
Sep 6, 2007 50 Cent, Album, Famous People, Hip Hop, Kanye West, Music, Music Artists, Performance, Photography, TV Show

Finally! I was wondering when something… anything… would come along and deflate Kanye West’s huge, bloated, retarded ego. And I think this competition just may be it! In the hip-hop world, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is facing off against Kanye West to see who the King of Hip-Hop is. The two are currently gracing the cover of Rolling Stone magazine in an obvious face-off. The two artists have new albums dropping on September 11, 2007. But let’s accept the fact though the whole release date thing has been blown out of proportion, the two singers have been the real ones trying to be in the news all the time for their respective release. If these things don’t prove he’s a complete tool, then I’m not sure what to tell you!) Kanye has said of the competition, “This is real. It’s a moment.” Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson said, “From a hip-hop perspective, it’s the biggest event possible.” It’s nice to have to wacky person fight it out in the media as this is what gives us blokes the material to make fun on their speaks. Go on you guys, you driving us too.
Kanye West trumpets education in TV spot
Aug 25, 2007 50 Cent, Album, Award, Hip Hop, Kanye West, Music, Music Artists, Music Bands, Politics

Kanye West says he isn’t political and has no interest in “who’s running with who” in the 2008 election. But the 30-year-old hip-hop mogul filmed a public service announcement Friday for an advocacy group trying to make education the top priority for the next president.
“Politics is a business,” the six-time Grammy winner told The Associated Press Friday. “I’m more social. I just care about people.”
During the filming of the television commercial, sponsored by Strong American Schools and his own Kanye West Foundation, West read from a script at the front of a mock classroom filled with real Chicago students.
“Yo. Becoming a music superstar took hard work but it also took a solid education,” West said dryly into the camera, his hands half inside his pockets.
“Say it with a little more meaning, Kanye,” a director prodded.
West took his hands out of his pockets and started gesturing with his hands as he talked, taking several more stabs at the script.
Strong American Schools is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation. The group, which says it is nonpartisan and doesn’t endorse candidates, is promoting three goals for education: higher standards, effective teachers and more support for learning, according to Executive Director Marc Lampkin, who worked on President Bush’s 2000 campaign.
Other celebrities making public-service announcements for the organization’s $60 million “Ed in ‘08″ campaign include actors Ron Livingston from “Sex and the City” and Maura Tierney from “ER.”
West, who grew up in Chicago, quit classes at the American Academy of Art in Chicago and later left Chicago State University for the music business. His 2004 Grammy-award winning album was titled “The College Dropout.”
His new album, “Graduation,” comes out Sept. 11, the same day as the release of “Curtis,” the new album from 50 Cent, who promised to retire if West’s new album outsells his.
West denied any feud between the two and said he talks to 50 Cent, “all the time.”
New 50 Cent album pushed back another week
Jul 18, 2007 50 Cent, Album, Famous People, Justin Timberlake, Music, Music Artists, New Single, R&B, Song, Timbaland

50 Cent’s new album, “Curtis,” has been pushed back another week, from September 4 to September 11, according to Interscope, which declined to give a reason for the move.
“Curtis” originally was slated for a June 26 release but was pushed back in late May.
Two singles from the project have met with little success on radio. “Amusement Park” peaked at No. 36 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and is No. 57 in its ninth week there, while “Straight to the Bank” peaked at No. 30 and has since fallen off the chart.
Another new song, “I Get Money,” debuted in early July at No. 75.
“Curtis,” which is the follow-up to 2005’s “The Massacre,” features production from Dr. Dre, Eminem and Timbaland, plus guest turns by Eminem, Akon, Justin Timberlake, Mary J. Blige, Robin Thicke and Nicole Scherzinger from the Pussycat Dolls.
