50 Cent Almost Mugged

50-cent-concert-gig.jpg

When you’re the star of the show, in the middle of performing a concert to a sold-out crowd, would you ever think that you’d almost get mugged? A bold thief tried to steal 50 Cent’s chain in Africa recently but the rapper jumped into the crowd to get back what was rightfully his. A video has popped up on the net where you can see a concertgoer jump onto the stage during the rapper’s set and yank the chain off his neck. An insider says that what folks couldn’t see on the video was that 50 jumped off the stage, followed the thief and punched the guy who tried to mug him.

50 Cent Blasts Alicia Keys

50 Cent Blasts Alicia Keys

50 Cent is on the warpath yet again, but this time, he’s not after the likes of Ja Rule or Kanye West. The rapper is blasting Alicia Keys for her comments in Blender magazine that “Gangsta rap was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other.” 50 responds to that comment by saying “I don’t like people who don’t like me… that statement changes my perception of Alicia Keys totally. It’s just not really a bright comment.” For her part, Alicia has said that her comments to the magazine were taken out of context. I think she just got scared of all the rappers that may come after her.

50 Cent Does Movies

Rapper 50 Cent is reportedly in talks to star in an upcoming indie movie called ‘Spectacular Regret’. The movie’s plot interconnects the lives of four Los Angeles natives who are struggling to overcome past events. Gee, sounds a lot like ‘Crash’ doesn’t it? Anyway, the rapper is in negotiations to play a death row inmate who becomes a media sensation while facing imminent execution. What is with all these rappers wanting to become actors? Just because a couple of them found success because they actually have talent doesn’t mean everyone should have a go at it! Stick to your day jobs!

Musicians on Steroids

It’s not just athletes getting in a steroid scandal these days as it is being reported that 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, Timbaland, Wyclef Jean and Tyler Perry have all been named in a steroid trafficking scandal that may involve thousands of people.

The Times Union of Albany says that “Blige and other stars were shipped prescribed human growth hormone or steroids — sometimes under fictitious names — at hotels, productions studios, private residences, an upscale Manhattan fitness club and through the Long Island office of Michael Diamond, a chiropractor affiliated with the celebrities” citing information from “several cooperating witnesses” in the investigation.

50 Cent on Retirement

50 Cent on Retirement

50 Cent has promised that should his rival Kanye West beat him in record sales for their newest albums, he would retire. But the rapper is finding more and more loopholes after finding out that Kanye did beat him. First, he said that he beat Kanye in the UK charts and now this.

It seems that 50 doesn’t believe in retirement as he is quoted in saying “I don’t know if it’s possible for a rapper to retire, rappers are like fighters. They condition themselves to be the best. All rappers think they’re the best. And they are just waiting for everyone else to recognise they are the best. You’ll see them come back and back.” He just can’t admit that he got beaten.

50 Cent Picks Yet Another Fight

50 Cent Picks Yet Another Fight

50 Cent has picked a new feud with rap rival Lil’ Wayne - just because the Louisiana hitmaker is a terrible songwriter. The tough-talking rapper lost out to Wayne - real name Dwayne Carter - in a recent MTV poll, which credited the Shooter singer as hip-hop’s most important name. When is this guy going to learn to behave at least if not always then at least sometimes, I hope he can manage to behave that much or am I asking for too much. First he lost to Kanye West in the battle of album releases and as a consequence he did not make his tour to Europe. Kanye is not too good either after saying that he is not going to attend MTV bashes after not received any awards at the MTV VMAs. Now 50 Cent is such a waste and a person without work that he can keep finding ways to get into some lame fight so that he is written about in the blogs. Once there should be someone who tells him on his face that he is all things that he tells other are.

50 Cent Lost

If he’s a man of his word, 50 Cent would be announcing his retirement any day now. The votes are in when it comes to the UK because their new album chart says that Kanye West’s new album ‘Graduation’ is the #1 album on the other side of the Atlantic. 50 Cent’s album ‘Curtis’ came in at the runner up position.

50 is also expected to lose to Kanye in the US as Kanye’s album is predicted to outsell 50’s by 200,000 units. But 50 might find a way out of retirement by making up some blatant lie.

But then again, 50 might have also felt the heat from Kanye’s victory as he has cancelled his European tour which was supposed to kick off this weekend. Wow!

50 Cent Blaming Interscope For Poor Album Sales

I dislike all this feuding when there is so much more to think about. We have a war going on and president who has no clue of what he is doing. With the money you all have should invest in putting music back in schools. You are role models for not just the young but everyone. Step back and stop thinking about self. In the dope game it is said, “There is a lot of money for all of us.” Greed is the problem. Can’t we all get along anymore? The war is not against one another it is those who did the 911 attacks. Get your mind in the swing of things. We all have little people looking at our behavior, what message are you sending them? It is time to grow and take a stand as adults. Ridiculous, but this was going to happen, all long Kanye and Curtis have been saying that who will be outselling whom. And now the game has just begun.

50 Cent v. Kanye West

50-cent.jpg

Finally! I was wondering when something… anything… would come along and deflate Kanye West’s huge, bloated, retarded ego. And I think this competition just may be it! In the hip-hop world, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is facing off against Kanye West to see who the King of Hip-Hop is. The two are currently gracing the cover of Rolling Stone magazine in an obvious face-off. The two artists have new albums dropping on September 11, 2007. But let’s accept the fact though the whole release date thing has been blown out of proportion, the two singers have been the real ones trying to be in the news all the time for their respective release. If these things don’t prove he’s a complete tool, then I’m not sure what to tell you!) Kanye has said of the competition, “This is real. It’s a moment.” Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson said, “From a hip-hop perspective, it’s the biggest event possible.” It’s nice to have to wacky person fight it out in the media as this is what gives us blokes the material to make fun on their speaks. Go on you guys, you driving us too.

Kanye West trumpets education in TV spot

Kanye West says he isn’t political and has no interest in “who’s running with who” in the 2008 election. But the 30-year-old hip-hop mogul filmed a public service announcement Friday for an advocacy group trying to make education the top priority for the next president.

“Politics is a business,” the six-time Grammy winner told The Associated Press Friday. “I’m more social. I just care about people.”

During the filming of the television commercial, sponsored by Strong American Schools and his own Kanye West Foundation, West read from a script at the front of a mock classroom filled with real Chicago students.

“Yo. Becoming a music superstar took hard work but it also took a solid education,” West said dryly into the camera, his hands half inside his pockets.

“Say it with a little more meaning, Kanye,” a director prodded.

West took his hands out of his pockets and started gesturing with his hands as he talked, taking several more stabs at the script.

Strong American Schools is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation. The group, which says it is nonpartisan and doesn’t endorse candidates, is promoting three goals for education: higher standards, effective teachers and more support for learning, according to Executive Director Marc Lampkin, who worked on President Bush’s 2000 campaign.

Other celebrities making public-service announcements for the organization’s $60 million “Ed in ‘08″ campaign include actors Ron Livingston from “Sex and the City” and Maura Tierney from “ER.”

West, who grew up in Chicago, quit classes at the American Academy of Art in Chicago and later left Chicago State University for the music business. His 2004 Grammy-award winning album was titled “The College Dropout.”

His new album, “Graduation,” comes out Sept. 11, the same day as the release of “Curtis,” the new album from 50 Cent, who promised to retire if West’s new album outsells his.

West denied any feud between the two and said he talks to 50 Cent, “all the time.”

New 50 Cent album pushed back another week

50 Cent’s new album, “Curtis,” has been pushed back another week, from September 4 to September 11, according to Interscope, which declined to give a reason for the move.

“Curtis” originally was slated for a June 26 release but was pushed back in late May.

Two singles from the project have met with little success on radio. “Amusement Park” peaked at No. 36 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and is No. 57 in its ninth week there, while “Straight to the Bank” peaked at No. 30 and has since fallen off the chart.

Another new song, “I Get Money,” debuted in early July at No. 75.

“Curtis,” which is the follow-up to 2005’s “The Massacre,” features production from Dr. Dre, Eminem and Timbaland, plus guest turns by Eminem, Akon, Justin Timberlake, Mary J. Blige, Robin Thicke and Nicole Scherzinger from the Pussycat Dolls.

50 Cent says: ”Delusional Cam’ron is hurting diplomats camp”

50-cent.JPG
50 Cent is laughing straight through his feud with Cam’ron — and all the way to the bank. When Cam came out dissing 50, making a song and accompanying pair of videos called “Cuurtis,” 50 promptly flipped the whole scenario and named his next album Curtis. Mo’ money! When 50 tried to play mind games, saying the Diplomats should kick out Cam and nominate Jim Jones as the new head of the organization, some shrugged it off. Lo and behold, a few weeks later, Jones went public with his gripes about Cam and said he’s distancing himself from his longtime friend, musical collaborator and business partner.
50 Cent is laughing straight through his feud with Cam’ron — and all the way to the bank.

So now what’s next? Well last week, 50 appeared on BET’s “106 & Park” and said Cam’ron was basically in his house, scared to come outside because of a recent altercation he had at a New York nightclub with Roc-A-Fella recording artist Tru-Life.
Cam’ron immediately responded, posting a videotape message online from his vacation home. He appeared on camera standing poolside and wearing blue boxer shorts, a white iPod tank top and socks to match. He told 50 enigmatically, “You ain’t left alone, brother. You’re not left alone.” Cam also warned that it would be a “hot summer” - that he’s off probation now and that, when his vacation ends Friday, he’s going to give 50 the middle finger. “Get my pool in the back”, he said to the cameraman as he walked off. A second part of the Cam footage that surfaced showed a close-up shot of the usually tapered-up MC with his hair and mustache unkempt.
“It doesn’t make sense”, 50 said. “For him to shoot a video message in front of his pool in underwear, it doesn’t make sense. I think he’s delusional. For him to make any financial reference, being in the financial space he’s in and where I’m at financially, doesn’t make sense. He’s just upset, he’s angry.
50 won’t give Cam credit for inspiring him to title his album Curtis, but he did shrug off the NYC Harlemite’s using his birth name to dis him.
“He’s delusional”, 50 reiterated. “For a person to think that calling you the name your mom gave you at birth is disrespectful is beyond belief. He’s punished himself more than I can punish him. He’s made a fool of himself. There’s nobody asking me about Cam’ron. … I think people lost interest in it, based on the situation. He’s not even relevant. You’re talking about a guy who sold 270,000 [copies] his last record. I sold 9.8 million my last record. I’m not going to exhaust my audience by talking about somebody they have no interest in.”
