Ja Rule to Release Music Before Going to Jail

Before going in for his 2-year jail sentence for gun possession, Ja Rule has promised his fans that he will be releasing a new album the day before reporting to jail. The rapper took to his Twitter over the weekend saying “Breaking news………RENAISSANCE PROJECT JUNE 7th!!! Mpire Music…” If you’re not aware, Ja Rule pled guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon after he was arrested during a traffic stop. Police found an unlicensed .40 caliber handgun in the backseat of his Maybach. A judge had allowed Ja Rule to finish his album and resolve an outstanding tax issue until June 8. This will be his first album release since 2007.

Nate Dogg Passes Away

A hip hop legend has just passed away. Long Beach-born rapper Nathaniel Hale, commonly known to the music fans as Nate Dogg, has passed away at the young age of 41 years old. His family announced his passing on Tuesday night. The cause of death is unknown at this time but some are speculating that it could be due to complications of two strokes that Nate had suffered, one in 2007 and another in 2008. It’s a truly sad time, not only for his family and friends, but also for the music industry. My condolences go out to all of Nate Dogg’s loved ones.
