Kanye West Gets Backlash for Abortion Tweet

So I was right about Kanye West getting angry replies to his tweets regarding safe sex where he mentioned abortion. Sure, they seemed lighthearted enough but some people aren’t taking the rapper’s comments lightly. One person who didn’t appreciate it was Lily Allen, who unfortunately had her second miscarriage in 2 years last fall. The British singer said “Never has a tweet put me in such a bad mood. This is wrong on so many levels.” I can definitely understand where she’s coming from. This is why it’s important to be careful about what you say on Twitter. You can offend so many people with just one tweet.

Wiz Khalifa has a new music video – Roll Up

The American rapper has recently released a new music video for his song “Roll Up”. This is a pretty straightforward rap song and the music video doesn’t go into any amazing directions. It’s just Wiz Khalifa doing what he does best. The song itself has a pretty nice and melodic beat to it and Wiz Khalifa’s voice goes a long way to completing a good enough song. The music video however will not impress through anything and it might only appeal to the rapper’s fans who might want to see more of him than they do on the album covers, but otherwise the song could’ve done just as well without the music video.

Foxy Brown speaks about the feud

In the female rap world the feud between Nicki Minaj and Lil’ Kim is a very big deal. So Foxy Brown decided to provide her own input on the situation. This is what she had to say: “Had Lil’ Kim let the people say, ‘Oh, you’re trying to be Kim, you’re a fake Kim,’ then it doesn’t come directly from her. But when you’re using that as a platform to bring your new album out, that’s like, ‘Oh my God, wait a minute.’ I don’t condone it at all; I don’t think it’s cute.” Foxy Brown pretty much hit the nail on the head with that one. She could’ve been a bit more expressive though… after all, Lil’ Kim does seem to be acting out of all proportion toward Nicki Minaj.

Michael Jackson’s kids want to continue his work

It seems that not only has Michael Jackson left behind an Estate that might actually turn out to be profitable after all, but also offspring that wish to follow in his footsteps. When asked about what they would like to do in the future, the eldest of Michael Jackson’s children, Prince Michael said the following: “I guess continue what our dad was doing.” It does seem only natural that Michael Jackson’s children carry on the musical legacy of their father since in the Jackson family it all seems to be in the genes. Perhaps in some unmemorable time even Joe Jackson himself was pulling off a monster karaoke with the best of them.

2011 BET Honors – The Performances

The 2011 BET Honors recently aired on TV. The ceremony was held at the Warner Theater in Washington DC back in January 15, so if you weren’t able to catch the show, I’ve got the down low for you. The show featured tributes to R&B singer/actor Jamie Foxx, actress Cicely Tyson, super model Iman and other influential African-Americans. The most interesting performances of the night had to go to 4 of the most talented artists in the music industry today – Trey Songz, Ne-Yo, Keyshia Cole and Marsha Ambrosius. All of them were simply amazing in their respective performances. Which one was your favorite?

Cheryl Cole’s accent needs to be mellowed

The singer has apparently hit yet another problem in her ongoing quest to become a judge on Simon Cowell’s US X Factor. It seems that the producers have a problem with Cheryl Cole’s northern English accent and she has to soften it a bit before she can actually be a judge on the show. This is what a source said about Cheryl Cole’s new predicament: “If audiences and contestants can’t understand her it is actually a regulatory offense. Cheryl will be told not to use the word ‘babe’ to describe a pretty girl. Other key words she’s being taught include saying ‘pants’ and not ‘trousers,’ ‘butt’ not ‘bum’ and ‘cookies’ not ‘biscuits.’ They also want to clamp down on her saying ‘pet’ which literally means ‘animal’ in the States...

Adele Rivals The Beatles

Congratulations are in order for Adele as the singer has become the first living artist since The Beatles to achieve the feat of having two Top 5 hits in both the Official Singles Chart and Official Albums Chart in the UK. The last time that something like that happened was when the iconic rock band held the record on December 12, 1964. Adele now has herself a huge place in the history of music by achieving the same record as The Beatles. She deserves it all. With her new album “21”, there’s no room left for questioning that Adele is one amazing artist.

New from Keshia Chante – Set You Free

Keshia Chante has recently premiered a new single called “Set You Free”. The new track comes off of the Canadian singer’s upcoming studio album “Night & Day” which is due out in the Spring of 2011. The Taio Cruz-written track is the second pop release from Keshia, after “Table Dancer” which managed to peak at number 44 on Canada’s Hot 100. I think “Set You Free” can top that as it’s a catchier song and is more radio-friendly. It also has an electro-pop and trance music mixed beat and some heavy synths. It has potential to become a hit for Keshia but only with the right promotion.

Lady GaGa puts her career before anything and anyone else

It seems that the very successful pop singer truly does work hard for her success and she won’t have anyone come first before her work. This is what Lady GaGa had to say about how important her career is to her: “I’d never let any man come before my career. I guess there’s some fear inside of me which makes me this way. My music is never going to roll over in bed one morning and tell me that it doesn’t love me any more. I have a big problem with rejection.” This might lead one to believe that Lady GaGa has had some pretty unfortunate relationship experiences in the past. But whatever happened to that individual whom she was supposedly together with? Where does he fit into this picture of Lady GaGa’s?

Will.i.am is on his second song with Britney Spears

The Black Eyed Peas singer has apparently discovered a way to bypass his little “inspiration” problem: collaborating with other singers and taking advantage of their good name. To that extent it seems that will.i.am is already collaborating with Britney Spears for a second. This is what will.i.am tweeted on the matter: “In the studio with @britneyspears today. we recorded another song for #femmefatale. that’s 2 bangers This britney song is so addictive … I’m in the studio adding finishing touches …’Uh oh’ this one is a ‘MEGA SMASHER’” It looks like will.i.am is pretty pleased with the work he’s done so far. Maybe this time he’ll manage to make some songs that have no visible resemblances to others already out there.

Remember Britney Spears just released a new hit song called “Hol...
