Halle Berry is being pursued to star in a biopic about Aretha Franklin by the iconic soul singer herself but the 44-year old actress recently joked with Ryan Seacrest that she didn’t have the voice to pull off the role. Apparently, Aretha found out about it and wrote a letter, read on the Wendy Williams Show, addressing the issue. She wrote “Many actors have portrayed vocalists by lip-synching to the artist’s original recordings.” As long as the story and script is good, I think Halle should do it. Since it’s a movie on Aretha’s life, I know it’s going to be good.

Pittsburgh native Wiz Khalifa has unveiled the second single from his upcoming major label debut “Rolling Papers”, which is due out on March 29th. The song is called “Roll Up” and will serve as the follow up to the rapper’s smash hit “Black and Yellow”. “Roll Up” is a synth-heavy production and it’s not all hood rapping like in the case of his previous single. In fact, I think it has a crossover appeal with its more Top 40 sounding, R&B-like sound with soft raps. The song is basically about Wiz being willing to cater to this girl at every moment unlike others. I love the new tune and think it’s going to be a hit for Wiz.
