Pharrell Covers Parade

Pharrell is featured on the cover of the November 2010 ‘Art’ issue of Paper magazine. The 37-year old music producer and rapper talked about his other creative side projects, including a Pepsi can in one of his sculptures, working on commercial art projects and what kind of music he finds exciting. When asked about music, Pharrell said “There’s a lot of great music out there, but I always draw a blank when people ask me about that. I just like when people are unafraid to just go and take music into different directions. The one thing I don’t like is when you turn on the radio and it sounds like one three-hour-long song.”

50 Cent Lawsuit

50 Cent released a rather popular album and movie combo last year called ‘Before I Self Destruct’. This year, the rapper is facing a lawsuit for allegedly ripping off the concept of both from a book by another author. 50 Cent has been slapped with a copyright claim from novelist Shadrach Winstead. He claims that the rapper stole the plot from his book ‘The Preacher’s Son – But the Streets Turned Me into a Gangster’ to write songs for his album and the story for the movie. Shadrach goes as far as saying that passages from his book are identical to some lines and lyrics from the movie. That could prove to be very strong evidence. It’s time for 50 to find a lawyer.

Katy Perry and Akon Hit Victoria’s Secret Show

Katy Perry had three colorful outfits for her performances for the 2010 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show held this past Wednesday at New York City’s Lexington Avenue Armory. The 26-year old pop singer performed her hit song ‘Firework’ right before the models walked the runway during the ‘Game On’ scene. Joining Katy as a performer was Akon, who sang his song ‘Angel’ during the ‘Heavenly Bodies’ section. If you want to see what else took place on the show, tune in to CBS on November 30 at 10 PM when the show airs. I’m sure a lot of guys will be tuning in to see that one.
