Prince VS Internet

Prince had some very interesting comments about the internet during his interview with The Mirror. Considering that the iconic singer has banned having his music on iTunes and YouTube, it shouldn’t be a surprise that Prince is giving away his new album ‘20TEN’ to readers of The Mirror on CD. He said “You must come and listen to the album. I hope you like it. It’s great that it will be free to readers of your newspaper. I really believe in finding new ways to distribute my music. The internet’s completely over. I don’t see why I should give my new music to iTunes or anyone else. They won’t pay me an advance for it and then they get angry when they can’t get it. Janet Jackson Kicks Off Essence Music Festival

Janet Jackson returned to the concert stage last week with a 30-song set during the opening night of the 2010 Essence Music Festival at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans. It’s been two years since the pop icon performed on a concert stage and if her performance at the festival was anything to go by, the hiatus definitely did her well and she made it well worth the wait. It’s definitely good to have her back! In addition to Janet, the festival lineup includes Gladys Knight, Mary J. Blige, Monica, Keri Hilson and Alicia Keys.
