Kanye West Joins Twitter

Kanye West has officially joined the world of Twitter! His first tweet reads “Up early in the morning taking meetings in Silicone Valley.” The rapper quickly followed it with a correction, saying “Lol I spelled Silicon wrong (I guess I was still thinking about the other type silicone ITS A PROCESS!! : )” I understand how you can spell things wrong sometimes or have the wrong grammar when you’re on Twitter. It’s hard to compress thoughts in just 140 characters. However, I do commend Kanye for not having tweeted in all caps. At least we all know he’s learning. Kudos to him.

Common is a Serious Actor

Common is making a sophisticated leap onto AMC’s pilot ‘Hell on Wheels’. The rapper turned actor will play a half-black/half-white freed slave who works on the Transcontinental Railroad. AMC’s SVP of Programming, Joel Stillerman, said the following about Common’s role “Common brings a layered intensity to a very complex role. This part required someone who can transcend the stereotypes of the period and bring the character to life in a truly unique way, and he brings that.” After the success of AMC’s original series ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Mad Men’, you could say that I’m intrigued enough to keep an eye out for the rapper.

DMX Back in Jail

DMX has decided to surrender to authorities in a Los Angeles courtroom and begin serving jail time in connection to a crime that he committed several years ago. The rapper’s jail stint all stems from a 2002 reckless driving conviction. It turns out that he was placed on probation after he pleaded no contest to the crime, but has since violated his probation, and has been ordered to serve 90 days in a city jail facility. Earlier this month, DMX completed a 4-month jail stint in Arizona where he served time for a probation violation. His manager says that DMX decided to surrender as he wants to take care of all his legal issues so he can finally move on with his life.

Michael Jackson Tribute at Museum of Dance

Michael Jackson wouldn’t just be getting a plaque when he’s inducted into the Hall of Fame at the National Museum of Dance next month. The King of Pop is actually getting an entire garden, all thanks to some passionate fans. Sources reveal that the museum officials have agreed to make space for a permanent garden to honor the late singer after a group of fans informed employees that an influx of flowers would be delivered on the day that Michael was to be enshrined. Instead of just letting the flowers wilt, the museum honchos and a local florist decided to construct a permanent garden in his honor. The small catch is that the groups of fans have to foot the bill for the garden.

While I’ve been apprehensive about The Dream’s excuses about being caught with another woman, it’s been revealed that the rapper/producer filed for divorce just nine days before wife Christina Milian gave birth to their daughter ‘Violet’. According to documents, he filed divorce papers in Georgia back on February 17. The papers stated “There is no hope for reconciliation. The marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken.” The former couple announced their separation just about a week and a half ago, on the heels of the leak of pictures of The Dream with another woman. Foxy Brown’s Manager Talks Arrest

According to Foxy Brown’s manager, the rapper never incited the neighbor who had her arrested this past Tuesday for allegedly violating a protective order. Bernadette Brennan says that it all started as Foxy was walking to her car to go to rehearsal for her upcoming show at the BB King Blues Club in New York. Her manager claims that the neighbor came outside and started screaming at Foxy but the rapper just ignored her. Foxy apparently went inside to avoid further confrontation and that’s when the cops showed up. As it was earlier reported, the neighbor told cops a different story, that Foxy verbally engaged her, a violation of the protective order placed against Foxy.
