Kanye West Talks Arizona

Kanye West is the latest celebrity to boycott performing in Arizona as a form of protest in regard to the state’s ridiculous immigration law. The rapper said “When Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat, they arrested her. As a result, people got together and said, ‘We are not going to ride the bus until they change the law.’ It was this courageous action that sparked the Montgomery bus boycott. What if we got together, signed a collective letter saying, ‘We are not going to comply. We are not going to play in Arizona. We are going to boycott Arizona?!’”

MIA Tweet Interviewer’s Number

It seems that MIA was very mad about her cover story in New York Times Magazine that she went on her Twitter and posted writer Lynn Hirschberg’s phone number. The article tackled the rapper’s crazy political views and that even though she is married to the son of a billionaire, MIA is still ghetto. The writer spoke about MIA’s actions saying “It’s a fairly unethical thing to do, but I don’t think it’s surprising. She’s a provocateur, and provocateurs want to be provocative…[it's] infuriating and not surprising.” Lynn also said that she has no plans on changing her number even after MIA’s Twitter post.

Lil Mama Trashes Designer Clothes

Lil Mama is in a boat load of trouble and I can’t wait to hear what excuse she has. The rapper recently had a music video shoot for a song of hers that no one will care about. While on set, she and her dancers allegedly trashed their wardrobe by covering it in paint and dirt. The borrowed clothes weren’t just discount stuff, I’m talking about designer brands like Metropark and Rock Revival. Lil Mama may get away with playing dumb with that except that all of the clothes that weren’t destroyed are missing. The producers of the music video are convinced that the rapper took a lot of the wardrobe. They’ve asked for it back with no such luck. The producers are now said to want to file a lawsuit against the rapper and her people.

50 Cent Slims Down for Movie

50 Cent has a new movie coming out called ‘Things Fall Apart’, which he also wrote. For his part, the rapper lost over 50 pounds to play the role of a football player who dies of cancer. The transformation is so unsettling that you would believe that he was actually going through the ordeal. 50 Cent admits that it took nine weeks to become that thin and that he had to commit himself to a three-hour-a-day treadmill walk and a liquid diet. But now that the movie is over, the rapper intends to go back to his brawny ways. Kudos to him for being so committed to the craft!

Rick Ross is getting sued… by Rick Ross

Here’s a pretty funny story. Rapper Rick Ross apparently got his name from a very successful drug lord who was active back in the eighties but got busted in 1995 and sentenced to life behind bars. As luck would have it, he was released eleven years later and he is now attempting to reclaim his name from the rapper Rick Ross who supposedly made a fortune based solely on his name and the image he created around it. Well, he does have a point. After all, if the music isn’t all that good and it’s just for the namesake, Rick Ross is entitled to at least a bit of what his name won him.

Simon Cowell is reminiscing

Since his last night on American Idol has just expired, Simon Cowell did a bit of reminiscing beforehand… at the request of his former girlfriend, Terry Seymour. Simon Cowell remembered the good times and the bad times of the past years on American Idol and he also spoke about Paula Abdul’s impending visit to the show: “I sent her a note saying I was actually pleased that somebody has built a show around her. It proves her star power and Paula is a survivor. She’s much smarter than people know. What I said is, and I literally mean this, I would welcome her on any of my shows. Anytime.” If Simon Cowell manages to get Paula Abdul on “any of his shows”, than American Idol truly is done for. At this point she might be the show’s last hope.

Kelis and Nas are finally divorced

It sure took them long enough… more than a year to be exact since Kelis filled for divorce in April 2009. Since then the battle raged on and it has finally come to an end. And a favorable end for Kelis it is since Nas now has to pay her 10, 000 dollars in child support and spousal support every month. Not a very bad deal, especially if Kelis even got a part of the goods as well. It seems that Nas had better start to get his records rolling because there are bills to be paid and child support is no joke. Others have done jail time for not behaving properly in that area.

MIA VS Google and Facebook

MIA is never one to shy away from controversy. The rapper has recently taken a stand against websites Google and Facebook, claiming that they’re owned by the CIA and used as a means to monitoring the public. She said “Anybody who is called the government is right. And anybody who isn’t called the government is not right… And you know, all governments are connected to Google, and all governments can shift their search engines so only what they want you to see comes up… I want kids to be aware of this digital circumstance… Everyone on the Internet is like, ‘Oh my God, come and join Facebook!’ They’re all so optimistic… and really, everyone is fucking you up behind the screens. And I don’t like that. It makes it difficult for me to interact with my fans knowing that...

Dolla’s supposed killer acquitted

Aubrey Berry, the music promoter who was suspected of shooting rapper Dolla was recently found to be not guilty in the trial for Dolla’s murder. Even though the police arrested him at LAX the very same day of the murder because they thought he was trying to flee and he admitted to having “the 9 mm handgun”, Aubrey Berry apparently managed to skip prison, hopefully on good grounds. Let it not be said later on that the one who shot Dolla got away with it, otherwise somebody’s going to have review their justice system because it might just have a few bugs.
