DMX Wants His Cash

Even while in prison, DMX knows what is important – money! From behind bars, the rapper is launching a major lawsuit against Rich Kid Entertainment. He claims that the company took 100% of his revenue when he signed with them 10 years ago. DMX alleges that the company pocketed his payments instead of just taking the 10% they were owed. The rappers lawyers said “DMX has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and has had No. 1 singles and albums on the Billboard charts, which in turn have generated a great amount of revenue for Defendants, but has left (DMX) with nothing.” How that went unnoticed? You don’t have much time for financial planning when you’ve spent the last 8 years in and out of jail.

MIA’s New Video Banned from YouTube

MIA has a new music video out that’s making its rounds on the internet. For many, the footage may be hard to watch but it’s still surprising to find out that YouTube has officially banned the video because of the graphic violence that it displays. Give me five minutes and I’m sure to find dozens of videos on the site that are worse than MIA’s video. Beside, doesn’t YouTube have parental controls? The rapper posted a message on her Twitter suggesting that her label bosses UMG were behind the band but later went back on to clarify that they weren’t.

Eminem – Not Afraid – lyrics

Check it out, Eminem released his new single “Not Afraid” from his upcoming album Recovery

Eminem – Not Afraid – lyrics

[ Hook ]
I’m not afraid to take a stand
Everybody come take my hand
We’ll walk this road together, through the storm
Whatever weather, cold or warm
Just let you know that, you’re not alone
Hola if you feel that you’ve been down the same road

[ Intro ]
Yeah, It’s been a ride…
I guess i had to go to that place to get to this one
Now some of you might still be in that place
If you’re trying to get out, just follow me
I’ll get you there

[ Verse 1 ]
You can try and read my lyrics off of this paper before I lay ‘em
But you won’t take this thing out these words before I say ‘em
Cause ain’t no way I’m let you stop me from causing mayhem
When I say ‘em o...

Nicki Minaj has a Big Ego

Nicki Minaj recently had a new interview with Vibe magazine and the rapper is proudly showing off that big ego of hers. She said “Everyone is not going to like Nicki Minaj. Everyone’s not going to like the way I look or what I do but I think if you’re smart you’d take from me and figure out why everyone is talking about me. I don’t think they know how to express that so they express it anger, jealousy and hatred.” Maybe that’s why she opted to drop out of the tour with Rihanna and Ke$ha – she couldn’t take not being the center of attention.

More Excuses from Whitney Houston

Whitney Houston’s latest concert on her ‘Nothing But Love’ tour in London was reportedly a disaster and left the diva’s fans and critics alike furious. The singer, who apparently couldn’t hit any notes and bombed ‘I Will Always Love You’, couldn’t take the shame and attempted to smooth things over with the audience by blaming the air conditioning in the O2 Arena. Whitney said “She don’t want to come, my soprano friend. Sometimes the old girl sings, but not tonight. I want to do it, but she doesn’t want to… She’s getting a little… temperamental, even. Turn the air-con off, I can feel it, it takes away my soprano.”

More on Bret Michaels

As Bret Michaels remains in the ICU under heavy sedatives after suffering a severe brain hemorrhage last week, sources are speaking out about what prompted the reality star to land in the hospital. The former Poison lead singer reportedly suffered from what doctors call thunderclap headaches, which are defined by the suddenness and severity of their pain. Thank goodness Bret took them seriously and got checked. Meanwhile, doctors are still searching for the source of the bleeding in his brain. However, some say that doctors never find the source in some patients. This is because the bleeding could be small and the rupture can cure itself. If that’s the case, you can basically wait for the symptoms to go away while doctors monitor for complications.

Amy Winehouse returns to pet project with Mark Ronson

Since the two are all happy and made up now music-wise and Amy Winehouse’s relationship with Blake Fielder-Civil has not screwed up her working… yet, she returned to working on an old project that she started with Mark Ronson back in the day. The project is apparently in Quincy Jones’ honor with a few tracks already laid down as a proud Mitch Winehouse relates: “Over the weekend she did three tracks for Quincy Jones. She’s doing great.” It’s good to see that Amy Winehouse is out and about her work once more… let’s see how long it takes her to go downhill again.

Ice Cube’s hip-hop documentary

The rapper has recently produced a documentary in which he explains the connection between the wearing of L.A. Raiders apparel and gangstsa rap. The documentary is called “Straight Outta L.A.” and this is what Ice Cube had to say about this fabled connection: “It was a team we could identify with, from the neighborhood that we came from. The Lakers was real glitzy and glamour; the Dodgers were seen as a little out of reach. But the Raiders, it seemed like my uncles played for the Raiders.” Well, surely many will be able to sleep a lot more soundly at night now that this little bit of trivia has been revealed. And to go to the lengths of making a documentary about it, there really are no limits to Ice Cube’s dedication to gangsta rap.

Joni Mitchell VS Bob Dylan and Madonna

The original queen of folk music, Joni Mitchell, who as of late has kept mostly to herself, has emerged out of whatever rock she’s been under to attack her male counterpart Bob Dylan and pop singer Madonna. Joni said “Bob is not authentic at all. He’s a plagiarist, and his name and voice are fake. Everything about Bob is a deception. We are like night and day, he and I. Americans have decided to be stupid and shallow since 1980. Madonna is like Nero; she marks the turning point.” Who is she to talk? I vaguely remember a departure in authenticity for Joni in the 80s when she traded her guitar for some synth pop duets with Michael McDonald.
