Eminem gets X Factor offer
Nov 30, 2009 Eminem, Simon Cowell
After the rapper’s outburst about how his complex musical experience would make him a key judge on the “talent show”, The X Factor, it seems Simon Cowell has taken a liking to the young candidate and is ready to take him under his wing. This is what the Earl of Exigence said on the matter: “It would be great to have him on as a guest judge. Em – I can call him that because we are on first name terms – the job is yours.” First name basis, eh? It looks like Eminem is really off to a head start. The guest judge is probably just a cover, Simon Cowell will most likely dispose of someone when the time is right. And now Eminem’s character development will take the most important step there is: the step into the dark side.

Amerie Talks Twitter
Nov 30, 2009 Amerie
Amerie recently did an interview with HoneyMag.com where the singer talked about relationships, staying true to herself and connecting with her fans. The 29-year old spoke of connecting with fans, saying “I always reach out to my fans. When I first came out, I had my own website and I would do an update. A lot of people weren’t doing that. Some were, but not a whole lot. It was more like posting a paragraph about what’s going on. And now with Twitter and everything, it’s just like a constant influx of information from everyone, you know? I do have a Twitter account and I definitely do use it.”

New Music Video from Iyaz
Nov 30, 2009 Music Artists, Music Videos, Rapper
Iyaz has a new video out for his first infectious single ‘Replay’. The 22-year old singer and rapper not only has the release of the music video to celebrate but also the general success of the song which has been certified gold and has reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. Iyaz, who became close friends with chart topper Sean Kingston after the two connected on MySpace, said that the and the ‘Fire Burning’ singer work well together. He said “Sean is my ‘little’ big brother. When you put us in the studio together, it’s like magic.” ‘Replay’ should be proof enough of that.

Snoop Dogg wants to step into Oprah’s shoes
Nov 27, 2009 Oprah, Snoop Dogg
After the tragic development of Oprah giving up her lifelong profession of making the world a better place with her talk show, it seems Snoop Dogg wants to step in and take charge of this massive responsibility. Here’s what Snoop Dogg said on the matter: “I’m trying to proposition the networks right now. If you’re wanting a nice, black, exciting young male who wants to turn the TV world right up – get at me. I heard Oprah Winfrey is leaving and there’s nobody who can do what Oprah did but, ahem – hello! Hello!” A nice, black, exciting young male? It sounds more like Snoop Dogg’s auditioning for a strip show, rather than Oprah’s old show. What’s the world of rap coming to anyway?

Beyonce has the best track of the decade
Well now, here’s a diva that doesn’t flaunt her ways in public so much as some others one might think of… and she seems to be more successful than those “others”. It seems Beyonce’s song “Crazy in Love” has just made the #1 position on NME Magazine’s “Song of the Decade” list. Boy, this decade must’ve sure been missing some really good music, but then again, the list is probably a reader’s choice so we can blame it all on them. Hopefully this won’t go to Beyonce’s head too much… there’s no need for another Mariah Carey running around ravaging the countryside.

Chipmunk has a hectic life
Nov 27, 2009 Chipmunk, Hip Hop
The young British rapper who recently posted disturbing messages on his twitter page apparently resorted to such extreme measures because his life was too hectic. Chipmunk related the following about the matter: “I just needed to take some time out to rest and get my head together. I try and take everything in my stride. It’s been a successful year for me. But I still haven’t had the chance to let anything sink in yet, I haven’t had a chance to think about it all. I’m just too busy. And I get followed everywhere too, it’s crazy. It’s a bit boring right now, it’s my birthday and I’m not even going to do anything.” Ok, so first it’s tragically unbearable, and now it’s boring? Chipmunk should really make up his mind… and if he needs a vacation, why not just ask for it. It might go a lot farther for Chipmunk than the suicide notes.

Timbaland Axes Chris Brown
Nov 26, 2009 Chris Brown, New Album, Timbaland
Sources are confirming that Timbaland has axed Chris Brown off a track on his new album and the decision wasn’t entirely because of the music. Sources say that the controversial R&B singer provided some vocals for a song called ‘The One I Love’. Realizing the connotation that carried having Chris singing the song, he was cut. Though reps for both camps deny that being the case, rapper DOE, who also appears on the track, which was originally called ‘Maniac’, says that the track was changed because some people didn’t think it would be a good idea to attach Chris to a song with that title.
Jay-Z Refuses Pictures with Models
Beyonce seems to have her hubby Jay-Z wrapped around her little finger. While attending the Victoria’s Secret after party at M2 last week, the rapper refused to walk the red carpet and take any photos with all the hot models out of respect for his singer wife. According to a source, Victoria’s Secret practically begged Jay-Z to take pictures with the lingerie models but the rapper would not budge. Beyonce must crack that whip hard. I’m pretty sure Jay-Z has become a laughing stock. If people weren’t scared of what he’s capable of doing to them, I’m certain they would have laughed in his face.

Big Boi Owes the Government
Nov 25, 2009 Rapper
Antwan Andre Patton, better known as the Outkast rapper Big Boi, is in trouble with the US Government for apparently skipping out on paying his taxes. It has been reported that the entertainer owes a total of $55,727 and that since June, a lien has been filed against him and his wife. Uncle Sam doesn’t mess around Antwan. It’s about time for you to stop being a boi and start being a man. You better pay up or there are worse things coming your way. What is up with all these celebrities not paying their taxes anyway? A bit of advice, shell out a little for a financial adviser or an accountant and this wouldn’t happen.
Halle Berry Talks Rihanna
Nov 25, 2009 Chris Brown, Rihanna
Halle Berry is no stranger to domestic abuse, having dealt with the abuse against her mother by her father, as well as an abusive relationship in the past. That being said, the actress shared some thoughts on the incident between Rihanna and Chris Brown. Halle said “Recently, Rihanna stepped forward and obviously she had an issue with domestic violence. She was able to get away which isn’t often the easiest thing. Any time a woman frees herself from that kind of bondage and that kind of situation I’m proud.” In related news, Halle recently helped launch photographer Mark Liddell’s book ‘Exposed: 10 Years in Hollywood’, in which some of the proceeds will go towards the Jenesse Center, a domestic violence organization.

Black Eyed Peas Settle Plagiarism Case
Nov 23, 2009 Black Eyed Peas, Will.I.Am
Some musicians just have a habit of ripping off other artists and I have to ask when will they ever learn? Will.I.Am surely needs to learn his lesson regarding the matter. As previously mentioned, the Black Eyed Peas front man has been accused several times of ripping off music from other artists. One of the recent accusations deals with a song by musician Adam Freeland called ‘Mancry’ which had a piece of it ending up in the BEP song ‘Party All the Time’. According to reports, Will.I.Am was at an event last year where Adam performed the song in question. Good news though as they have settled all the trouble. Adam posted a message on his Facebook saying “Just settled w/ Black eyes Peas who ripped off Mancry. If you see me in the next wk say ‘Party all the time’ I’ll buy you a beer. Woo hoop!” I guess he got paid.

Jay-Z gets the charts
Nov 20, 2009 Beyonce, Billboard Chart, Jay-Z
The rapper has finally did it! For the first time in his career, Jay-Z got a number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 with his song “Empire State of Mind”. Congratulations are in order, especially considering this is a man who spends his time occupied with his various businesses and helping other artists launch their careers. Jay-Z proved that all you need is a heap load of money and influence and you can turn the musical sphere all the way around… you couldn’t do that with talent. Jay-Z is probably in for one hell of a party and Beyonce must be so happy for him… even though she herself might have been vying for the achievement.

Michael Jackson’s Movie Gets Help from the Past
Nov 20, 2009 Michael Jackson, Movies
Michael Jackson fans might be upset when they find out that the much hyped ‘This is It’ film, documenting the late singer’s final tour rehearsals, seems to have gotten a bit of help from the past. According to new reports, music experts are saying that some of the sound bytes on the movie are actually from years before. Former BBC senior studio manager Andrew Rose claims “Throughout the film sudden changes in vocal timbre suggest the dropping in of older recordings which may have required significant digital manipulation to fit the new live backing.” The shocking part in all this is that officials at Sony Pictures admit to altering the film. It’s not like it’s going to hurt them now as the film has already grossed over $200 million.
will.i.am’s song stealing catches up
Nov 19, 2009 Black Eyed Peas, Will.I.Am
After been accused by several artists that he has stolen their music, will.i.am from Black Eyed Peas has apparently decided to finally pay up for his misconducts. And the first to reap the benefits of having his music stolen by will.i.am is Adam Freeland who wrote the following on his Facebook page: Just settled w/ Black eyes Peas who ripped off Mancry. If you see me in the next wk say ‘Party all the time’ I’ll buy you a beer. Woo hoop!” Well, that’s one way to sell your stuff, especially for a lot more than its worth. It seems that the Black Eyed Peas might want to reconsider having will.i.am as a member since it is doubtful that money came out of his pocket alone.

Beyonce is a Pack Rat
Nov 19, 2009 Beyonce
Beyonce was in London, England recently and she was accompanied by loads of stuff. According to The Mirror, the 28-year old singer stayed in the presidential suite at Lowry Hotel, the first five star hotel in the Manchester area while she booked another room for luggage about 30 miles away at the cheaper yet still chic boutique hotel, Malmaison, Liverpool. A source said “She had seven suitcases, three hand luggage bags and two boxes, all for her mammoth gig. In the cases there were apparently 14 dresses, lots of shoes, make-up and 25 wigs.” If she was staying at the presidential suite, wouldn’t it have had enough room for all of that?

Chipmunk back on the show
Nov 18, 2009 Chipmunk, Rihanna
After the disturbing twitter messages and the brake he finally took with the permission of his managers, it seems Chipmunk is back on track as he recently performed live during Rihanna’s latest appearance in London. Chipmunk said the following about coming back to the stage: “I’m on a trip back to normality. I’m in good health and it’s all good. Things got a bit crazy and I needed to take a break to sort my head out but I feel better already.” Right, and getting the chance to open for Rihanna’s performance had nothing to do with it, right? He’s a smart one, that Chipmunk!
Tinchy Stryder robbed
Nov 17, 2009 Tinchy Stryder
The rapper was recently forcefully determined to part with 17 000 dollars worth of jewelry in a nightclub car park. One of Tinchy Stryder’s spokespeople commented the following on the event: “Tinchy and his entourage were not involved in any fighting.” It seems Tinchy Stryder’s entourage confronted the robbers, or at least that’s what the sources say. He should really get himself some decent bodyguards, not rely on an “entourage” to protect him… and maybe not wearing the bling out in the open too much might impair such occurrences, after all, it’s not like anybody can identify Tinchy Stryder to be the famous rapper that he is if the man doesn’t stand out by glowing half of the time.
