Progress Made in Chris Brown Assault Case
Apr 30, 2009 Chris Brown, R&B, Rihanna
According to a source, there’s some progress being made in the plea deal that Chris Brown has made in the Rihanna assault case. Exactly what that progress is remains unknown though. Chris is up against two felony charges following the violent February incident involving his now ex-girlfriend. Bargaining resumed yesterday and both parties tried to settle on a date for the R&B singer’s preliminary hearing. According to the source, however, though progress has been made, a solution is not “imminent” and “barring a last minute breakthrough”, it is unlikely that a deal will be announced anytime soon. I guess we’re going to have to wait for that hearing.

Jamie Foxx Mentors American Idols
Apr 29, 2009 American Idol, Jamie Foxx
You know there’s something really wrong with American Idol when the best mentor they could get for jazz week, also known as Rat Pack week, is Jamie Foxx. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against the guy, but I think they could have made a better choice in mentors. He’s not even a jazz singer for Pete’s sake! And that truly shows when he gave some pretty lame and off the mark comments. I think he’s the worst mentor they’ve had thus far – even worse than Quentin Tarantino for movie week. He got it right though when he said that if Kris Allen’s performance goes well, Jamie could go and make an album with him after the show is over.

Snoop Dogg Gets Lien
Apr 28, 2009 Rapper, Snoop Dogg
Snoop Dogg is one of the biggest rappers of all time so you would think that it would mean that he’s making a lot of money. But no. Snoop actually finds himself in a deep hole when it comes to the state of California coming after him for his taxes. The state actually filed a tax lien on the rapper which shows that Snoop owes California a whopping $284,053.59. By my calculations, that should come up to around 190,000 joints, give or take a few. I wonder why he’s late in paying taxes. Maybe he was too stoned to remember having to pay them.

Xzibit is Late on Payments
Apr 28, 2009 Rap Music, Rapper, Xzibit
Xzibit reportedly owes at least $21,403.98 in back mortgage payments and he’s officially been warned by the bank that he’s so close to foreclosure. But judging from the way the rapper/actor flashed his ridiculously expensive diamonds in a recent trip to Las Vegas, someone forgot to tell him about his house trouble and the more than $500,000 he also owes in back taxes. In addition to nearly losing his home in Woodland Hills, California, it was also reported that the IRS filed a $205,485 lien on X in LA County for non payment of his 2007 taxes and another one for an additional $296,355 for 2006.

Pharell Gets Burned
Pharell Williams hates his tattoos so much that he’s willing to go through hell and back just to have them off of him once and for all. The rapper is undergoing laser treatment to have them burned off his body, as shown by a bandaged photo of him that he posted on his blog recently. He wrote “Laser treatment bitches! Extra crispy. See, no skin graft here, just pure laser pain. This is our own version of Mythbusters! Laser is the new primer.” A while back, the NERD front man said he wanted to have skin grafts to get rid of his ink but he obviously changed his mind. Burn baby burn!
Beyonce’s Dad Comes to the Defense
Apr 27, 2009 Beyonce, Famous People
Beyonce’s father and manager, Matthew Knowles has released a statement in response to the sound board clip of his daughter supposedly singing very off key. He said “If no one took the time to look at the biggest Inauguration in the history of America then shame on them. If no one took the time to listen to Beyonce sing ‘America the Beautiful’ and ‘At Last’ at the Neighborhood Ball for the first dance of President Obama and the First Lady, and they question Beyonce’s vocal ability, they’ve gotta be an idiot. MULTI-PLATINUM BAND HIT THE ROAD IN SUPPORT OF NEW ALBUM, 21ST CENTURY BREAKDOWN, TO BE RELEASED WORLDWIDE ON FRIDAY, MAY 15TH, 2009
Reprise Records’ Grammy®Award winning rock band Green Day have announced that they will hit the road for their first proper tour of the United States and Canada in more than three years beginning July 3rd in Seattle, WA. The first leg of the tour will cross North America through the summer and finish up with two shows in Los Angeles on August 26th.
Green Day are touring in support of their long-awaited eighth studio album 21st Century Breakdown, which will be released globally by Reprise Records on Friday, May 15th, 2009. Singer-guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tre Cool have been at work writing, arranging, and recording 21st Century Breakdown since early 2006 with producer Butch Vig (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins). The first single, “Know Your Enemy” was released to radio and digital retailers on April 16th.
Green Day recently performed 21st Century Breakdown in its entirety during a series of warm-up club shows for hometown fans in the Bay Area. In its review of a show at Oakland’s Fox Theater, Rolling Stone commented that the band, augmented by guitarists Jason White and Jeff Matika, and keyboardist Jason Freese, had the “Quadrophenia-like hang of 21st Century Breakdown’s classic rock melodies and lifetime-punk drive down solid” and that the album is “rock opera in which the rock always comes first.” “21st Century Breakdown is Green Day’s best album,” the reviewer concluded, “and at the Fox, they proved that the rock opera can be as punk as a Clash 45.”
21st Century Breakdown is Green Day’s first studio album since 2004’s two-time Grammy Award-winning punk-rock opera American Idiot, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart, spawned five hit singles, and went on to sell more than 12 million copies worldwide.

Kim Kardashian honoured to be killed” in new Eminem video
Apr 23, 2009 Eminem, Kim Kardashian, Music Artists, Music Videos
Kim Kardashian said she is “honoured” to be ridiculed – and “killed” – in the new Eminem video.
The reality star gets mocked by the rapper for her famous booty and then gets stuffed into a wood chipper in the satire.
But she wrote on her blog that she loves it, according to US Weekly magazine.
“I just saw Eminem’s new video for We Made You, and he totally spoofs me!” she wrote. “It was a total surprise to me because I had no idea he was going to talk about me in the song.”
She added: “I think the video is so funny! I am a huge Eminem fan and find it flattering he would rap about me.
“Personally, I’m honored.”
The new video, for a song off new album Relapse, also has parodies of Jessica Simpson and Sarah Palin, among others.
“There’s some celebrity bashing in it,” Eminem told MTV News. “I wanna say it’s not necessarily intentional bashing in it; it’s not necessarily taking deliberate shots at people…Yes, it is. What the f— am I talking about?”

Bone Thug Gets Cleared
Apr 23, 2009 Bone Thug
Flesh-n-Bone from the rap group Bone Thugs n Harmony has recently been cleared of gun and marijuana possession stemming from an April 2 arrest in Santa Clarita, California. However, the rapper, whose real name is Stanley Howse, still remains in prison even though the charges he was arrested on have been dropped. Apparently, he’s being kept behind bars because he got arrested while he was on parole. He has to remain behind bars until his lawyer can clear up his parole hold. His lawyer hopes that everything can be arranged within one week. The guy just can’t get a break.

Genre bender: Snoop wants to work with Miley Cyrus and Jonas Brothers
Apr 22, 2009 Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, Snoop Dogg
Bad boy rapper Snoop Dogg is considering an unlikely new collaboration – with Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers.
It wouldn’t be the first unusual collaboration from the gangsta rap turned reality TV star.
Snoop just completed a track for an upcoming album of Johnny Cash covers, which even features country crooner Willie Nelson in the video.
Asked if he wanted to work with Disney teen stars Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers, Snoop said: “Hell, yeah. We’ll make some gangsta pop music!”
Snoop said he opened his eyes to the possibility of crossing genres after his experience working with country stars.
“Country musicians are just like us,” the star said.
“They smoke weed, get drunk, talk s–t, go to jail. But they just wear the little hats.”

Jay-Z’s Posse Can’t Pay Up
Apr 22, 2009 Jay-Z
How do you know the music industry is hurting? It’s when two major record execs can’t pay a $1500 bill. Atlantic Records executive Michael Kyser and Shawn Costner of the Universal Music Group recently treated Jay-Z to drinks at a New York City nightclub. However, according to the New York Post, the high-powered duo had some trouble footing the bill. The manager for the club alleges that they agreed to split the tab when Costner’s credit card was declined, leaving Kyser with the check. Kyser gave the club his credit card but then left without signing a receipt. The exec still hasn’t paid the bill and is now supposedly contesting the charge even though the club still has his card. Jay-Z apparently left a $500 tip for the waitress but left before the bill arrived.

Condensing American Idol
Apr 22, 2009 Adam Lambert, American Idol
With American Idol running long for a couple of weeks, I’ve come across a funny idea of condensing the entire show down to just a 15-minute performance night. Minute 1 of performance nights will see the obligatory introductions of the judges and Ryan Seacrest. Mintue 2 sees the mentor of the week giving a speech on how everyone was instead of giving personal comments with no footage of them rehearsing. Minutes 3 and 4 will just be Adam Lambert blowing away the competition. Minute 5 will just be Simon’s comments. Minutes 6 and 7 will be Danny Gokey’s thing. Minute 8 will be Simon again. Minutes 9 to 12 will be highlights from the other remaining contestants. Minute 13 will be Simon giving his thoughts on the other contestants. Minute 14 will be Ryan giving out the numbers and minute 15 will be well wishes of good night with Kara saying “artistry”, Randy saying “dawg” and Paula babbling randomly.

Kanye Hires Girlfriend to Model
Apr 21, 2009 Kanye West
It’s a good thing that Kanye West has a big ego and is nowhere near insecure. He must also not be the jealous type as the rapper/producer/designer hired his girlfriend Amber Rose to be a model in the ad campaign for his new line of Louis Vuitton sneakers. Why mention the jealous part? Well, one of the pictures in the campaign sees Amber with her head on Kanye’s lap. Mind you, she’s completely naked and her ass happens to be showing. She looks good, bald head and all. I know a lot of men will be ogling at that picture.
Diddy Really Wants to Act
Diddy, I mean, Sean Combs is really getting into his acting career as he is set to star in a Judd Apatow-produced flick called ‘Get Him to the Greek’. It’s about a record company intern trying to get an unruly English rock star to a gig in Los Angeles. The entertainment mogul will star as the intern’s boss of course. I guess we can call it art imitating life. Diddy is so excited about his new role and he just had to share it via Twitter. He wrote “If you work hard + believe dreams do come true! Even if no one else believes! I landed a role in the new Jonah Hill, Russell Brand movie!”

Anyone wanting to text or call the performer, whose real name is Tramar Dillard, can contact him on (001) 305 528 2786.
“It’s my way to get close to fans,” Flo Rida, 29, told the Miami Herald. “Most times people hang up because they’re scared. They can’t believe it’s really me. I pick up and they go, ‘What? Oh my God!’ These are my fans who support me. It’s all good. Come holler at your boy.”
Flo Rida’s first single from his second album R.O.O.T.S, Right Round, has racked up more than 600,000 downloads in its first week and rocketed to the top of the US Billboard Charts.

Steel Panther Releases Video, Take Shots At Goo Goo Dolls, 50 Cent, and Madonna
Apr 17, 2009 Music Videos, Steel Panther, YouTube
Hollywood hair metal dreamers Steel Panther have launched an all out attack on the pop mainstream with their newest video “Death to All But Metal”. Asserting their alpha male dominance with plenty of hairspray, spandex, and sick stage moves, Steel Panther have taken shots against anyone NOT flying the hair metal flag. Kanye West, Madonna, and 50-Cent are among the superstars targeted by lead singer Michael Starr’s wrath in the clip.
“Death to All But Metal” is an homage to Van Halen’s classic “Hot For Teacher” video and also features a cameo by smart mouth comedienne Sarah Silverman as the school principal.
Steel Panther’s new album, Feel The Steel, hits stores on 6/9 (how fitting is that date?!)
