Record label drops Kelly Rowland

Columbia bosses have decided to part ways with former Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland. This news comes merely 2 months post Kelly Rowland firing her manager Mathew Knowles who is singer Beyonce Knowles father.
This is really strange because both of her 1st two solo albums sold in excess of four million copies but according to a British tabloid Columbia bosses have dumped her because they fear she is “no longer commercially viable.”
It is more of a ‘we do not have the budget’ to produce music because the economic melt down is starting to create greater ripples in the entertainment industry and while profits are dipping cost remain high so its really like taking greater risk with potentially chances that cost might not be recovered.
At the same time Kelly Rowland is incredibly talented no doubt about that so music companies would sign her as soon as she can strike a comfortable deal. Keep on doing your thing Kelly they can’t stop u Columbia must b crazy don’t, really leaves me miffed that those guys see how fine she is?? Must be blinded but Kelly is a gr8 singer n a good person n she’s real sexy.

Method Man Forgets to Pay Taxes

Method Man forgot to pay his taxes but unlike many others who just make up excuses, he’s honest. He says he forgot to pay because he got high. The self-professed pot head had simply forgotten to pay his taxes since 2002 saying “It’s no secret. Everyone knows that. I go on the road and forget everything else. Sure, [the tax department] sent letters to my house saying, ‘We need this money.’ They started sending them in 2002.” Declared $52,503 in arrears on his personal income taxes, the NYPD and the repo man recently showed up to his house and took his 2008 Lincoln Navigator. It was then that the rapper realized that “I have to get all my paperwork together. That means days of going through mail, ’cause I got mail like woah.”
TI Headed for Slammer

TI has finally been sentenced and the judge says that he has to go to jail for a year and a day. An Atlanta federal court sentenced the 28-year old rapper last week on federal weapons charges related to buying machine guns and silencers. The plea deal also requires TI to be subjected to a number of requirements after his prison sentence including “an audit of his finances, drug counseling, DNA testing and random searches of his property, and he will not be able to own firearms.” The rapper must also complete 500 hours of community service after jail time. He has between 30 and 60 days to turn himself in.

Eminem Does Rain Man

It looks like Eminem is paying some homage to the film ‘Rain Man’ in his upcoming music video for his brand new single ‘We Made You’. In the Academy award winning film, Tom Cruise exploits Dustin Hoffman’s autistic genius to win big in Las Vegas. Dressed in gray suits with white ties, Eminem, Dr. Dre and 50 Cent recreate a similar-looking scene in ‘Rain Man’. The video will air on April 7th. I hope the gimmick proves to be a success for him. He needs to make up for all the time that he’s been gone. Eminem won’t get much if he delivers short.

Timbaland Lawsuit

Timbaland is going after his record label Blackground Records claiming that they didn’t say anything when he first decided to make his move from performer to producer and things are now getting ugly. In a lawsuit filed earlier this week in Federal District court, the big shot producer claims he just got too successful as a producer and the record label couldn’t contain its jealousy and hostility for him. Timbaland alleges that Blackground went on a McCarthy-esque search and destroy campaign, contacting various record labels and giving them a million reasons why they shouldn’t hire Timbaland to produce songs. Timbaland wants out of his contract and unspecified damages.

Kanye West is on the cover of the new issue of Complex magazine. In the accompanying interview, he talks about why he thinks there’s such a fixation on his sexuality. The rapper said “I really think it’s because society tries to dictate the way a guy is supposed to dress and the way a guy is supposed to act, and I refuse to conform. A lot of these dudes would never be accused of being gay just because they all look exactly alike. If people could just realize the amount of mundaneness and followers that lack creativity… I think people’s mentality is like, Only gay people are that creative. And it’s true there are a lot of gay people who are incredible creative minds, but there are straight people who are incredible creative minds—and there’s gay people who can’t dress or create at all, too. Closed-minded gay people probably say they dress ’straight.’”

Now it’s out. After a successful opening of Britney Spears’ “Circus” tour in New Orleans sources near to the pop star are now willing to reveal how the 27-year old singer struggled with her confidence a week before the actual tour. Sources said a team of relaxation therapists had to be called to look after Britney Spears before she could even perform. Britney Spears’ mis-confidence is understandable considering this is her first major concert after her emotional and career collapse a year or so ago. She was not sure how people would react to her performance so she was freaking out about almost everything.
There was even a time that the people behind her were not even sure she could perform on the stage. Thanks to her father Jamie and a bunch of relaxation therapist, Britney Spears was able to go on stage and show the world that she is back! The stadium may not have been filled but the support of her fans helped Britney throughout the show. At least now, everyone can be sure that what is weighing heavily on Britney Spears’ mind is no longer her ex-husband Kevin Federline but her career and how to make her performance better.

The only other tour I’ve been part of is the ‘American Idol’ tour, so this’ll be more intimate and personal.” What does Jennifer Hudson find so intimate and personal about singing in front of thousands of people, sharing living quarters and transportation with loads of other people, getting little sleep and other some such things. Or, no, wait, that’s not how they roll up there. Jennifer Hudson will probably have her own car, her own suite, her own “assistants”. In that case it will indeed prove a most fulfilling and self-discovering experience.

Wino May Lose $7 Million

Blake Fielder Civil doesn’t want Amy Winehouse back but he does want her money. According to Wino’s dad, Mitch, Blake is trying to squeeze out almost $7 million out of Wino. Mitch complains that “Amy’s a musical talent, but since she’s been with Blake she’s barely been able to perform on stage, let alone make a record.” He is afraid that Wino might return to the cracked out romance saying that his daughter is “guilty of loving [Blake].” Mitch further explains saying “I’m not saying she is going back to him, she just wants to talk. But I want her to get divorced. I want Blake and his family out of our lives… She nearly ended up dead thanks to him.”

50 Cent Gives Diddy a Compliment
50 Cent recently had an interview in the new issue of King magazine where he gave Diddy a backhanded compliment. The rapper said “Puffy has the best model for staying relevant, because [he does it] without a song. He’s been able to maintain an interest and stay in a space to executive produce television and film projects, and stay relevant to hip-hop culture. What was the last record that made you feel like, ‘Oh, my God, Puffy is on fire’? You don’t need it. That’s what makes his business model exciting to me. There are only three of us to look at: Jay, [me] and Puff. [We have] three totally different situations. We’ve just been a part of hip-hop culture. That’s the similarity. I still think they’ll be relevant. I just think they’re like the fire hydrant: You can’t move those guys out of the street. Pussycat Dolls have just premiered the video for their version of A R Rahman’s Oscar winning “Jai Ho!” “It was such a great honor to be able to re-write my own version of the lyrics,” said PCD’s Nicole Scherzinger who worked with producer Ron Fair on the new interpretation of the track. The Dolls shot the video for “Jai Ho (You Are My Destiny)” at an abandoned train station museum in snowy Vienna with director Thomas Kloss (Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus).

Lil Kim Needs Money
Lil Kim is one of the contestants on Dancing with the Stars. It’s pretty well known that there’s no cash prize for winning that show so it’s safe to say that the once big time rapper is on the wrong show. There’s no way that she could pay her taxes by melting a plastic trophy down. According to The Detroit News, Lil Kim reportedly owes $979,090 in delinquent state and federal taxes. She also reportedly owes money in the states of New York, California and New Jersey. Lil Kim’s rep says though that “Lil’ Kim is paying her tax debt and will continue to do so.”

Akon to produce Alexandra Burke’s first album
The rapper will be producing Alexandra Burke’s very first album. Akon had this to say about working with the winner of “The X Factor”: “I’ve had calls to work with Alex and I’m going to do it. I love ‘The X Factor’ and I love helping to break new artists. To me, it’s one of the most enjoyable and important aspects of my job.” Also, Akon had this to say about Alexandra Burke’s artistic potential: “I’m taking people’s word on how good Alex is, like I did with Leona. It was a really refreshing experience working with Leona – she’s so quiet and calm.” It looks like an open and shut case, really. Akon probably has nothing to worry about how well Alexandra Burke can perform… after all she won “The X Factor”, that’s got to say something. And, in truth, best-sellers can be practically made from scratch these days.

I keep saying that he’s the dethroned King of Pop but I now take it back. Michael Jackson has still got it as tickets for all 50 of his shows at London’s O2 Arena have completely sold out! Jacko fans who didn’t trust the reliability of online purchasing spent the night camped out in front of the O2 to assure dibs on the tickets. Tickets for the show went on sale on Friday morning. One million tickets for Jacko’s comeback performance were snatched up in a matter of hours! Tickets to see the shows are going for as much as $14,000 on eBay but I can only think that the prices will go even higher as the show dates come closer.

He cannot have those prices and seriously think that people will pay the price of $1140 for a pair of sneakers like the one pictured. And who would want to pay that much money for some ugly ass sneakers anyway? You can get so many more pairs over the more sporty and more durable Nike, Adidas or what have you.

Chris Brown withdraws from Nickelodeon Awards

Nickelodeon Award producers may have stood their ground despite the increasing pressure to boot out Chris Brown from the Awards but what can they do when the awardee himself withdraws his name from consideration? This is exactly what happened after Chris Brown withdrew his name from the list of nominees for the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards amid mounting criticism he has received for the physical altercation between him and Rihanna last February. Chris Brown has been nominated for Favorite Male Singer and Favorite Song in the said Award body.
While Chris Brown appreciates the unrelenting support from his fans despite the incident his representatives said the controversy involving Chris Brown and Rihanna has shifted the focus from his music to whether or not he should be allowed to be nominated. Chris Brown would have liked to speak personally to his fans about this but he could not pending the legal proceedings at this time. Chris Brown’s name has been removed from the Kids’ Choice Website effective Wednesday morning.

I doubt Biggie would talk to her from beyond just because she’s still bitter over the casting of ‘Notorious’.

The socialite recently told the story of how, once in Disneyland, she actually got the chance to sit in Michael Jackson’s lap. Peaches Geldof related the following: “I was eight years old. I was at Disneyland with my family. Michael Jackson was there doing some sort of promotional thing. He invited a load of kids who were staying in the Disney hotel to come meet him. He was sitting on a huge throne at the end of the hall, flanked by Mickey and Goofy. The image is burned in my mind of him there. I went and I sat on his lap and then he proceeded to stroke me and whisper in my ear a little bit. I’ve got photos to prove it. I’ve been stroked by Michael Jackson!” Peaches Geldof is probably saving the photos for a blacker day when things might not go so well. But why doesn’t she at least share with us what exactly it was that Michael Jackson whispered to her, we’d all probably love to know.

Chris Martin dismisses rumors of rivalry with U2

Even though the front man from Coldplay has been branded a “wanker” by Bono, Chris Martin insists that there is no rivalry between the two bands: “We never started any rivalry, because we are fully aware that we are a number six band. We are not even number two. We are always very thrilled when someone even bothers to compare us, but we are 23 years behind them and they are in a way different league.” That’s it, go ahead! Kiss the ass of the one who kicked you in the gut! I wouldn’t have imagined Chris Martin to be so low on self-respect. Sure, you’d expect Bono to act all high and mighty, given his career a certain amount of smug becomes greatly predictable. Too bad Chris Martin had this reply. Still, it would be fun to see Oasis and U2 getting into a conflict like this. Just imagine the fireworks that would result! When that much amount of smug gets into close contact… anything can happen.
