If you enjoyed the music played during the inauguration of President Barack Obama then you only have ot thank Cassidy Podell aka DJ Cassidy. To those not yet familiar with his work, he is the same guy who handled the music playlist for the hush-hush wedding of Beyonce and Jay Z. Oprah WInfrey recommended the 27-year old Cassidy to the Obamas. Winfrey was apparently very satisfied with the work done by Casidy during the opening of her girls’ school in South Africa that she did not hesitate in recommending his services to the 44th President of the United States. True enough, Cassidy lived up to his reputation by providing great music selections that kept the ball rolling. He also provided a CD for Obama’s nine other offiicla balls.
On top of DJ Cassidy’s playlist is Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours)” song which was used throughout the Obama campaign. McFaden & Whitehead’s “Ain’t No Stoppin’ us Now” was an appropriate selection for Obama’s victory and inauguration to the Office while Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell’s “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” made the guests feel that this administration can hurdle any challenge no matter how great. Also inlcuded in the playlist are Diana Ross’ “I’m Coming Out”, Michael Jackson’s “Wanna Be Startin’ Something”, The O’Jays’ “Love Train”, U2’s “Pride (In The Name Of Love)”, Sister Sledge’s “We Are Family” and jackie Wilson’s “Your Love Keeps Lifting me Higher”.
